Power Armor weighs a ton on it's own, but weighs nothing once you slap the pieces on a frame.

Most regular armor weighs piss all compared to PA. I don't think it'd be broken to have that as a perk.

Kind of my thinking as well. You can be a PA character and run around picking up everything with 300-400 carry weight and only your guns, ammo, and food (like 100lbs in total) holding you down. If you want to run with Heavy armor, you're going to be at a 200lb handicap and you don't get the benefit of having 11 STR for free.

Then there's the weird catch-22 where if you're going to be a PA character you're probably already running a high-STR build anyway.

I always think about making my own modding guides for /fog/.

I have a bunch of personal guides for myself but if i were to share them it wouldn't be too useful since they're messy lists that would only be useful for me and a lot of the guides I've seen go into detail with the mods while mine are made for me so I already have the mental thought that I know how to install the mods, make my own patches, and can read mod descriptions in case of special instructions.

I guess I could share one of my guides I made for a friend. It's pretty stripped down and contains only the essentials for a straight forward and as close to vanilla experience.

The problem would be if I should include a difficulty mod into the list. I usually tell my friends to use vicious wastes, but that's not going to be a universally enjoyed rebalance but I can't recommend the overly done project Nevada or vanilla.

I can eventually make a NV guide that would pretty much be in the same vein as the squiggums guide, but I've only modded TTW once so if I even were to make a guide I can't guarantee it'll be as comprehensive or as straight to the point. Would be a complicated mess since I'd have to make a guide that either focusses on modding the two games with New Vegas's 137 mod limit or a guide that is strictly made for playing Fallout 3 only in TTW. Either way it would be a struggle and at best I'd be able to make a rough draft for others to fill in.

So it's been a few years since I've touched FNV or F3. I just got back into F4 and i'm like 30 hours in my current playthrough and things are starting to get a little repetitive. I was taking everything slow, reading every terminal (since that's basically the only place where any lore/story is in f4) and I'm starting to get a little tired of it. I have 300+ hours in New Vegas and I haven't ever finished the main game, and I've only done one of the main DLCs, and while I think I've done a good chunk of the sidequests I know there are a few areas I haven't really explored heavily. FO3 I probably had 300+ hours in it before completing the main quest, but that was because I'd get burnt out around Vault 87 or Raven Rock then stop playing for awhile, then I'd come back a few months later and make a new character.

There are plenty of named NPCs that you can assign to unique weapon variants. It might make the game a little easier on some modes since you could just run to Corvega and pick up an...i dunno, troubleshooter's pipe revolver rifle or whatever. You'd have to be choosy about what you gave early game targets is what I'm saying.

I don't really know what your goal is but I don't see a reason to keep them out of the way. Named NPCs should have exceptional weapons and Named NPCs are everywhere, at the end of dungeons and even in just landmarks. Clint and Tessa and Captain Bridget and Crank and Wire for instance. Even if you account for named unique weapons that are in the base game like Reba II and Tinker Tom Special, there's plenty of combos that don't have a static spawn. Saves you the pain of writing lore.

It would depend on the weapon. I mean, a two-shot laser musket kind of makes sense given what the thing already does.

Perhaps found on what's-his-name in Quincy. The two-shot laser musket originally belonged to Preston's superior who got it modified by Sturges as a bit of a gift and 'thank you'. But when quincy fell Clint took it as a trophy and now butcher's the innocent with it.

Freezing weapon? An Institute laser rifle experiment intended to help them preserve specimens. Results were questionable at best but a resourceful Courser found some good use for it.

Unlimited Potential actually had a pretty decent justification for Neverending effect. Even had it's whole story

I notice the 'magical' effects seem to work best a bit with energy weapons though. Hm.

The Administration Building can be a little tough; Scrambler is a decent melee, Eddie has a plasma pistol, and most of the bodyguards have SMGs. Usually when I go in I'm hopped up on chems out the ass, or right away I chuck dynamite at the stairwell on the left to delay most of them from coming downstairs. Beyond that they shouldn't be too heavily armed, though; mostly dynamite, with hunting rifles from the tower guards, and a mix of 9mm and 10mm handguns and SMGs. I think Outside Bets adds more Powder Gangers to the NCRCF as well too, but doesn't increase their general firepower.

Also, this is important, /fog, what level do you think these weapons should begin appearing on random enemies at? Its definitely more powerful than a Gatling laser, and with the right mods, could be as powerful as a Fatman. I'm thinking level 50, maybe level 60? You can easily get them before then, but they won't begin spawning.

I think I'm going to exclude the plasma beam and plasma cannon from the leveled lists spawning variants, enemies with Fatmans are annoying enough.

I'm adding uniques too. Two, in fact. Also for the story I've came up with for them, them being in the leveled lists, albeit rare, is plausible.

I'm making a scientist from the Institute (ex-institute now) that found an old bunker filled with military weapons, and found a P94, and modded it to beyond recognition, then he kept making more. Now he has an energy weapons store similar to the Van Graffs.

He will sell a lot of plasma weapons, and blueprints for various things. I'm gonna give him some unique perk mags that you can buy off him for various craftables, and he'll sell one of the unique plasma casters with the two shot effect. I'm placing a unique one in the world somewhere on an all new creature called the Gammaclaw. It will have the never-ending effect.

Oh, and as an Easter egg, I'm going to place this weapon in webm related in a guy in the Glowing sea somewhere. He'll be in his underwear and have HUGE MUSCLES.

I think I'm going to make the Gammaclaw more horrifying to actually fight against than buff its HP a lot. I was partly inspired by Supergod for its abilities. I think I'm going to make it have a HIGHLY devastating aura around it. If it even gets close to you, you catch fire and take massive radiation damage. It will also be a bit faster. Radiation damage and energy damage will heal it.

Yeah, I dislike how Horizon handles healing as far as sleeping and such. I'm fine with rare healing, but the player isn't a fucking T-800, he should be able to recover health from sleeping, albeit a less percentage than vanilla.

Take the VANS perk so you can spend a few points in survival or whatever the perk was that lets you make your own medical supplies. For me the real problem in Horizon was the ammo; it's basically required that you tick the scrounger option in the install or else you'll have like 20 rounds tops for anything.

I couldn't get this to add heavy water to the settlements resources, tested for around 2 hours, said fuck it, but it can be harvested every 30 minutes, so I just made the heavy water produced make 10 nuclear material and 10 acid. Don't rename it, if you do, people will need to use your script file specifically. If you already have the original script file, use that one then. All the script is doing is calling the code framework that injects the variables (weapon/armor/other mod, npc's it spawns in, and the levels) that you edit into the game.

The code works as something in: "Insert [X Weapon] into [Y NPC] at [Z Level]", it's made like that so it can be reused by various mods.

New player here: Occasionally when I stop moving, my character continues moving a tiny bit.

It's not consistent. It's like the game needs to finish an animation. I took a video to demonstrate. Happens both in first and third person, and maybe 20% of the time.

He also states that these places are north of the Mojaveo utpost, which is the NCR's most osuthern, and last remaining orute east.

We also know from Old World Blues itself that Big MT is located south of the divide.

Also, you don't need to edit the script file itself. What he meant was rename IF you edit it, so people don't load your script if they want the original one.
For instance, the original script is called "WeaponLLInject". When you add it to a weapon mod and set the npc's and levels, you are saying

Now if you edit your script file and don't rename it, it will overwrite the original one on anyone's pc, and what ends up happening is any mod that loads the WeaponLLInject script, will load yours, because that's what he found under that name.

Do you just have Sexout Core installed? I think you need Sexout FadeToBlack (that might be internal to core now, I'm not sure). Easiest way to fuck in NV is to get Sexout Core, and then get SexoutSexLite; this allows you to ask random NPCs with dialogue if they want to bang (they'll always reply positively). Leveled lists work now as far as I know.

Spawned 100 Gunner commanders

18 of them had Plasma casters. Or more. I couldn't find all the corpses after the lag fest of shooting was over. They start spawning with them at level 60. I figured thats a fair number since 90% of you probably aren't level 60 anyway. Each gunner had around 750 plasma caster ammo, which is about 1.75 full reloads.

Now about all I have left is making 2 unique legendary variants, the shop, some unique perk magazines, and textures. Might have that all done the next time I work on this.

Cyber expansion is optional but I like the neat additions though some claim they're OP.

Equipment is nice. Love the Cryo Revolver and Wattz guns. Homemade Plasma is given to Fiends and makes more sense than them all have Plasma Rifles and Laser RCW's.

While I do like JSawyer on principle, I've never got it to work well with other mods. I've never used FOOK either so can't help you offhand. Can you use FNVEdit at all? Might be worthwhile to check them all out, see what changes what and make a batch or choose to drop one of the mods. I mainly just use PN and YUP with a few of my own tweaks here and there (I only use PN because it has a lot of built-in stuff that I'd need to bash a few other esps to do the same).

Point is, saying Fallout 4 has a lot of shit mods doesn't mean anything since most mods are shit, since most modders are shit.

The only difference with Fallout 4 is that there is likely more shitty mods because of the fact Bethesda already took all the good mods from Fallout 3 and NV, as well as many of the early mods for Fallout 4,and either had them as base game features, or added them in DLC, meaning it wasn't possible for modders to just ride on remaking the same mods for the 20th time they have been doing since like 2006.

With all of the good Fo3/NV mods(Except sex mods) being added into Fallout 4 as offical features, people are forced to either make up new good idea(which are few) or just fall back on making

And since most modders are lazy shits who don't really want to do any work, most chose the latter rather then the former.

Sadly the Institute itself is a pretty empty location. Even though there are kids running around there is no school, and apparently no one that looks out for them either.

Since he doesn't mention his parents but does say he was alone for a long time I'd guess he was actually raised by Synths and just spent most of his time with other kids.

Going from Synth Shaun he should be from Advanced Systems then. But then again that's just the kid version of himself trying to please you, so who knows? I think he'd fit in better at the SRB desu.

Aside from Archive Invalidation what are some of the other issue that can cause this with custom body meshes and textures. I've tried everything I could think of, manually installing, letting FOMM install it, even NMM. I can get them back to vanilla, but I just can't seem to get the textures to work on the type 6/3 bodies.

Well it turns out that if you have Protectron legs on a robot with Mr. Handy arms it can't actually use the Handy arms to attack. So I had to add some arms to Curie.

I'm looking at the Traits in New Vegas, and most of them seem kinda...gimmicky and bad. But I never messed with the OWB ones.

Early bird sounded kinda meh at first, until I read that night person cancels its effects out, and solar powered makes it even more ridiculous. That, and Claustrophobia. Thats +5 strength simply for being outside between 6am and 12pm.

Every time I played I only got fast shot and wild wasteland, but what did /fog/ use?

The main quest is the weakest part of the entire game, and the plot twist was so dumb people guessed it from the initial reveal.

For FO4 to be a good game someone would have to surgically gut the entire main quest and replace it. You'd think Bethesda would've learned from Heavy Rain that having the main character run around shouting Shaun was a bad idea.

Spike that you will get over. Upgrade your pipe junk to something decent. Go to DC and pick up a good weapon or get after some raiders for decent shit.

If it's too much just do Danse's initial quest to join the brother hood and let him fight the Synth's for 10min and pick up all the fusion cells which should be in the hundreds and you're set for the next dozen or so levels.

There's a different motivation with finding your child versus finding your father, sibling, friend, etc.

This is why it's a very effective tool for player motivation. However, immediately out of the gate Fallout 4 has an identity crisis due to the fact it's an open-world sandbox.

In the case of the Witcher, Ciri is not alone or defenseless as a baby would be, which is Nate's perception of Shaun when leaving the vault.

Player agency is a very powerful tool when used correctly. But Bethesda's writer came on too strong by using a child as the motivator, breaking any suspension of disbelief when you're willing a distraught father to spend his day gunning down ghouls to collect cloth for a settlement you need to build.
