Well, the technical real reason is DE being lazy. Compare vanilla Valk to Prime--you'll notice a lot of vanilla Valk's textures are reused with a different tint. So the Prime is just a jazzed up version of base Valkyr, not an undamaged Valkyr.

Your main credit sink for multi-millions of credits is primed mods. It costs 1 million credits in tax to trade a primed mod, and about two million total credits to take a primed mod from base to fully upgraded.

There need to be more resource sinks in the game that isn't DE putting ridiculous costs on clan research.

Tonkor now deals full self-damage, so you can't faceblast people anymore or you'll kill yourself. It also has reduced crit rate but since it wasn't a red crit weapon in the first place that doesn't hurt it too much. Just keep your distance like you would any other launcher weapon and you can Tonkor just fine.

Mods with random stats. Maximum strength of stats depends on weapon disposition (how often weapon were used by all players in warframe before riven implementation). On a weapons with strong disposition you prefer to roll dmg, multishot, crit chance, crit damage. On a weapons with weak disposition you mostly roll -recoil, -reload time etc to make powerful weapon also comfy.

You can reroll stats on rivens using kuva - special resource from special missions. If you get riven for some gun, this riven will always be for this gun. Rivens are obtained from sortie.

riven mods are like dynamic mods, with weapon and mr restriction. Like you get a lato riven mod you can only equip sudden mod on lato, lato prime and lato vandal, they are dynamic since you can reroll the mod with a resource called kuva, every reroll gives casual stats, you can get god reroll with for example, damage, multishot, etc. but you can also get bad stats or useless stats. like negative damage and such, every weapon has a riven disposition. High disposition give higher stance than lower disposition, this for avoid getting an ultra overpower riven or some weapon already overpower like tigris prime, example: bad weapon = strong disposition, good weapon= weak disposition. Basically DE put these special mods to give bad weapon a chance to become good or at least viable in end game content. Hope my explanation is clear.
