Critical Delay is worthless unless it would push the weapon into 100% crit territory, IE, 2 or 3 weapons in the game, and even then, still not worth the slot. I used to have it on a Hushed Tonk for stealth chaining because Argon Scope was too inconsistent, but DE fixed that for me, by both nerfing Tonk AND stealth chaining in general.

Here's a full summary of all the relevant, objectively correct points.

1. Redcrits do not give a massive increase in your DPS. Many people seem to think that the ability to redcrit deals huge amounts of damage. A lot of people throw mods like Critical Delay and Argon Scope on their guns in an attempt to redcrit. Most egregiously, I've seen people selling Rivens for huge amounts because they "allow X gun to redcrit!" These people are all WRONG.

2. That being said, redcrits are never BAD. You're still going to get more damage if you have 110% crit compared to 100% crit. The damage increase from 100% -> 110% is simply the same from 90% -> 100%, or 80% ->90% (depending on who you ask, redcrits can be even WORSE due to diminishing returns).

3. For some weapons - in particular, slow-firing weapons like snipers - hitting 100% crit chance is desirable because it increases consistency. But in this case, it's hitting 100% that's important, NOT redcritting. And you're not doing it for a damage increase, but for consistency. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT DISTINCTION. In fact, using mods like Critical Delay to hit 100% crit chance often SACRIFICES overall DPS for consistency.

(Point 3 is contentious. I personally don't subscribe to it because I believe everything in a horde shooter washes out to averages, but many people think consistency is important and it's a valid point).

4. Related to point 3, hitting 100% crit chance can also be important if you're religious about aiming for headshots, because of the difference between a headcrit compared to a regular headshot or a regular crit. This is the ONLY case where Argon Scope can be good (and even then it's arguable due to headshot % and aim-down annoycances). But again, the emphasis is on 100% crit, not redcrits.

That's the explanation for the "redcrits are a meme" argument. Now you're smarter than 99.9% of the warframe playerbase, including the devs.

Bringing shit like Loki/Nova to defense missions is clearly suboptimal, but if you can't do the mission any other way - a concern if you're new - then it's fine. I see slovvas in defenses, and even though I alt+f4 whenever I see one, clearly pubs can't survive without it. You're giving people too little credit and making something much more complex than it needs to be.

Zephyr was a very strong damage frame with the Tonkor build by all definitions of the term "Damage." After Tonkor's nerf I'll be perfectly fine without taking out that damage role from her since it's no longer nearly as powerful, but her previous Tonkor build definitely counted as a damage build.

Zephyr's Tailwind aug is more a usability buff for projectile weapons. It didn't make the Tonkor do any more damage, you could do the same thing with perfect aim or something from across the map. Ivara's navigator is a damage skill in the same way as Tailwind is a damage skill. Even more so, actually.

Zephyr + Sonicor also qualifies for a CC frame since you can stunlock and ragdoll anything within 50m due to how flight speed works with it.

Tonkor zeph significantly improved the effectiveness of the tonkor, much more so than just a regular tonkor. Even if it didn't buff the damage, it allowed you to fire a lot more rounds and at greater distances with better positioning.
