Partly the modding scene's fault. Redkit was pretty powerful. There's like only a dozen mods for it. It'd be like spending one million vodka dollars for five dudes. It's not profitable in any way.

I also think it's because of the proprietary tech tied into RedEngine 3. Bethesda had to delay their own kit (probably mostly because they don't want modders to make a better job releasing DLCs) for FO4 because they needed to strip it off any tech they're not allowed to distribute and they had to make it user friendlier like the other kits before it.

Dettlaff isn't evil, he is like a beast, a dangerous wild animal that can't be reasoned with. It's witcher's job to kill monsters like that. You would do the same with a bear that went rampage and attacked innocent people. It's a shame his long life among humans didn't taught him anything. I wanted to take Regis' side, but in the end Dettlaff acted like a mindless monster. He could have waited for more than 3 days, he could have used his powers to get Syanna and kill her alone, but he made his choice and after that, only death is a reasonable outcome for him.

As far as Syanna is concerned, I like to leave the judgement to her sister. The way I see it, Geralt was hired to do a job and track down a monster who killed those people. He does that, presents all the evidence to Anna and what she does with that and how she punishes Syanna is her decision. If she wants to forgive Syanna, that's not Geralt's business. I really like W3 enhanced edition. Big improvement over vanilla combat. Getting rid of the auto lock makes combat alot more enjoyable imo.

They have a prebuild animation system with a bunch of gestures, expressions and stuff. They later hand craft it further for major scenes. But what they did is nothing short of remarkable, TW3 has one of the best facial expressions in any game ever. I can read emotions on character faces. Triss and Geralt stand out for me, but pretty much all the major characters are done amazing.

Shilard was pretty great in the way he manipulated Foltest, Radovid, Henselt and the Lodge at the same time. While Letho was Emhyr's assassin and was weakening the North by force, Shilard was doing it behind the scenes using the divide and conquer tactics. I finally finished the main quest as well as the Heart of Stone DLC and am now starting Blood and Wine. Finally finished replaying TW3 after going back to play the first two, and I noticed something kind of weird at the end.

Whatever happened to the third crone? I've put Ciri on the throne and let Ciri be a Witcher, and the crone that escaped with Vesimir's medallion never gets mentioned after the Bald Mountain mission. During all the excitement I'd missed that she vanishes from the plot during my first playthrough, but the fact that a crone survives the encounter and just never gets mentioned again seems kind of off.

I figured it out, it's because I'm a druggie. My toxicity was high so for some reason that makes it so he plays the animation for taking out the crossbow then immediately sheathes it.

With no toxicity it works like it's supposed to, he takes it out and keeps it out so you can aim and shoot.

Reminds me that the game has a bug with alcohol and quest triggers. If you have very high toxicity and the game forces you to drink alcohol, you fail the quest tied to it. Keep a bottle of White Honey with you at all time, folks. That or wait it out.

Witcher 1 on normal was basically just "time your attacks correctly, win". Witcher 2 on normal will fuck you up if you just run in swinging and blocking. I've actually started making use of bombs, which is something that I did like three times in total in the first Witcher just to see what they did.

I've never heard of that before, people only seem to praise TW2, which is mostly well-deserved. TW1 is the game that the fewest people played, since the combat system is a major barrier of entry in terms of holding peoples interest.

Though I'd say the combat mechanics in TW2 still had issues, mostly because it devolved into roll and quen spam in nearly every situation. Even then, most of my real issues with TW2 come down to the poorly organized crafting system and terrible inventory UI.

Only the Wolf and Cat school are in the novels. Cat school turned into an assassin's guild, more or less, and betrayed the Wolf school in the past. Mostly bad dudes, and almost extinct.

Viper, Manticore, Griffin, and Bear are all game-only with little background beyond context clues from the equipment bonuses. Manticore = Alchemy bonus, Griffin = Signs bonus, Ursine = heavy armor
