Yeah, it's still not perfect, but it's far more varied and responsive.

Sort of. You still don't get penalized for rolling aside from dropping stamina regen to 0 while doing it, there's side step and they toned down the complex facing+direction+distance animation triggers. Sign buffs and variants are pretty good too but they nerfed Yrden post release so it's fucking useless now unless you're fighting ghosts or min-max'd for it. They changed the dagger throwing to crossbow and also lessened the amount of bombs you can juggle (they have a hard cap and you need to meditate to refresh their stock).

I'd be remiss to mention that skill system changed so that you can mix and match depending on the situation therefore giving you more opportunity to spice your fighting style at any given time. At least that's the concept, it's still better to stick to your build the entire game because skill points can be a rarity especially since some skills need a hefty investment on a tree.

I used it a bit, but only edited some textures. It's very limited in what it can do. Editing cutscenes is not possible from what I've seen, and I also haven't seen anyone do a mod like that.

I never had a problem with the cutscenes, the important ones are done well and the generic NPC dialogue doesn't need to be better imo and there is too much of it too make every one of them unique.

As an avid Trissfag, I couldn't care less about Ciri calling Yen her mother, I even supported Yen fan petitions to get that added to the game but CPDR ignored them. One of my favorite scenes in the game is Yen/Ciri reunion at KM. In the Polish version, Yen actually calls Ciri her daughter. For me though, Ciri is a non factor when it comes to Geralt's romance. She's a grown woman and they were never a conventional family so Ciri will be fine whatever Geralt decides.

Also, the wish has nothing to do with their love. He fell in love with yen before expressing the wish (see picture). The content of the wish is only implied and never revealed, but its purpose was saving Yen from the djinn which otherwise, once freed, would have obliterated her. The only way to save someone from a djinn is to tie his or her fate with the only person who the djinn cannot harm: its owner (Geralt in that case).
This means that breaking the wish would most likely have no consequences (that's another misstep on CDPR part)

Um, that's all nice, but I'm not playing the books. I read them and they are pretty great, but I personally like and enjoy the games better. In the games, I can make my own decisions and I'll always choose Triss for my Geralt. She is there in every game and romancing her throughout the trilogy is a big part of the experience for me. If you prefer Yen and have a thing for the family aspect, that's also cool.
