It's only really snuff if it's on-screen. You hardly ever really get a visual representation of Luka dying in-game (it does happen to some background characters in part 3, though), but pretty much all the vore scenes have visual representation. I'm not sure, but I like doing things this way regardless. Making things yourself makes a project feel much more personal and consistent. Plus it's good practice and experience.

Besides, i've been spriting for a good while and I find it relaxing so long as I know what I'm confident I know what I'm doing. Heck, that asset/decoration sheet is only 2 days of spriting work so far.

I remember when Paradox Part 1 released, I waited with bated breath over Darg's translation of the game. I knew it was going to take awhile so I kept my expectations low. But I still played through the game not understanding Japanese, and just made up my own story as I went along.

At this point, I honestly don't even care about Darg's translation. That's not to say I don't appreciate what he does, but it took 19 months for a full translation of the story and npc dialogue to come to light, and as of now, the H-Scenes aren't even close to being done. A lot of the times when he says in his blog that things are going smoothly and he's getting a lot done, he ends up releasing a patch and going "Yeah this is gonna be a disappointing patch. Not much here guys, sorry."

Not to mention he was never able to gather a reliable team to help him. THAT was the real bitch. Almost everyone who offered him help, ended up flaking out. So the whole idea of a Dargoth led Translation Team, was just a fantasy. I do feel bad for the guy. Not to mention Part 2 is going to be even bigger than Part 1. I'm just going to play through Part 2 untranslated like I did the last time. It's more important to me that MGQ2 (whenever it comes out) gets a translation anyway.

I don't think he'll ever get reliable help. The only real help he got was for the little things, like item, menu, and ability translations, but no help regarding the meat of the game. He could've had volunteers to translate some of the H-Scenes here and there, while he worked on the main story. But that didn't seem to be the case. I think a lot of people went "Yeah I'll help!" expecting that it was going to be easy, and when he hit them with reality, they fucked off.

I'm a lot more concerned with MGQ2. With Paradox, you can easily play the game untranslated. If you really only cared about the Fap Material, you could set the game on Very Easy, and steamroll through. But MGQ2 will be a visual novel. You need the game translated in order to battle enemies. Is Dargoth going to be up for translating that game, after going through the hell of Paradox Part 1-3?

What this whole situation has taught me, is that Dargoth and Rogue were the only people determined enough to translate these games. The fact that nobody worth a damn has stepped up to the plate to help Dargoth, to REALLY help Dargoth, means that if Darg ever retired, we'd have nobody.

And the NPC dialogue, towns, item placements, etc. Don't forget that Port Marle is on the same continent, so it's entirely likely that the Sabasa and Ilias continents will stay accessible -- to say nothing of unresolved "come back later" things like the Harpy Queen and that one vendor in Grandeur.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the only things cut out from Part 1 will be story-specific content. The story being longer doesn't necessarily mean that the Part 2-exclusive content will have more text than Part 1, when you take all that other stuff into consideration. Look at all the text that's already translated in Part 1, and then realise that it's only like, halfway done.

Dargoth needs help. It's as simple as that. By help I mean REAL help, as in people who aren't gonna flake out from the start, or maybe help him for a couple weeks and then fuck off. He needs people passionate enough about the project to dedicate themselves to aided getting certain chunks of the game translated. But I think that's also the issue. Darg, god bless him, hasn't been prioritizing correctly imo. He was on the right track at first. Translate the menus, items, and skills. But then by 2016, he started focuses so much on cleaning up existing translations, bugs, and NPCs that have no impact on the story. He wasted A LOT of time on bullshit. I'm playing Paradox right now for the first time since I played through it untranslated two years ago. I've hit so many H-Scenes and Battle Dialogue that are untranslated, in the first three hours of the game.

Contrary to whatever he believes, people do really enjoy the fap material of MGQ. Yes the story is surprisingly interesting for a hentai game, but it's still a fucking hentai game. I know he does it for free, but that doesn't mean he can't be criticized for his approach on how the game is translated. I do appreciate his work, but him being silent for 2-3 months, and then release a patch only to say "Not much here guys, clean up some bugs, translated some more npcs, and a couple h-scenes." is just frustrating.

The visual novel already had a relatively significant Western audience due to the story at that point though. Not him, but the point is that MGE is supposed to be wish fulfillment. It totally can be "just about him". Why are you bringing the realism of "well maybe they just like buff guys" into this? The implication in the MGE and other MG universes is that MGs will love you unconditionally (although the more tactful creators will 'say' that without actually saying it so you're less likely to reject the idea as unrealistic/cringe).

Also the text in reference definitely goes beyond the preference of a certain body type. See :

Consider the fact that the monster girl genre is generally a femdom, or atleast female-dominance-leaning, subject. Now contrast that preference with the worldview based around/acknowledging an 'alpha male' type person which females are inherently attracted to. This is especially bad for MGE, which 90% of the time sells itself as a hugbox and 10% of the time sells itself as slight femdom. By adding this to the world canon, KC is subverting his previous hugbox/femdom universe. Also, certainly you can see how one could think of an NTR scenario deriving from this 'alpha male' worldview -- again, the antithesis of a hugbox.

Honestly KC does this shit all the time in my opinion. I don't think he knows what worldview/genre he is supposed to be selling, so he just sells everything that seems appealing to him at the time, and forgets the bigger picture. Sure, maybe alot of people are fine with that, but certainly you can see how the incongruities can ruin it for others.

By doing all this worldbuilding, and making the rules of the world be consistent, it makes it much easier for the mind to accept the new world, and all of the pleasantries that come with it. Worldbuilding, and creating consistent threads of ideas which bolster all of the events (secular or arousing) of your world, is pretty much necessary for good hugbox/porn (or anything that requires a bit of a mental leap) . Just as in all fiction, if you start breaking the rules of your world, the world loses its ability to captivate because we our mind rejects it due to its inconsistencies.

That is the fundamental issue with this and alot of other things that KC does. He sets up this whole world, where in most cases the world follows the rules of 'hugbox' and then introduces a "btw theres alpha males now" idea. This idea CANNOT just stand on its own -- its a part of the same world, so the viewer applies it to the same world -- which then causes problems for every other MG. Therefore, there can really only be variation as long as it doesn't break the rules of the world, which, in my opinion, this certainly does.
