it's damage output is actually surprisingly high and it feels really good to track people with it
it's spread is also tigher which is why i find it to be effective against soldiers and demomen that you can just kill from a range that's comfortable for dodging their projectiles while they are slow enough to be able to be tracked
it has difficulty in close range scout encounters and against overhealed targets though which is mostly because of the slow reload speed
the best thing about it is that you learn to place your shots more precisely making your scattetgun shots deal more damage once you unequip it
i have never used the shove constructively in my life it's completely useless

if a experienced player dies to a crit it's easy to blame the crit regardless of if you would have died did it crit or not
if you blame the crit for dying it might feel bad because you died but you don't feel bad because you blame yourself for dying which is a much harder pill to swallow

Random crits in a otherwise (at least some amount of)skill based game take away from the game. Instead of it being a fair battle there's a bit of an element of rng. Which means a bit of the game is dependant on luck. Which means you're just rolling dice. Sure it's a small chance and it maybe it won't change a games outcome most of the time, but it makes it random and takes away from the gameplay.

I usually use camper with the lucksman, it's saved my life so many times, even if it's not as good anymore. For an actual snipper riffle, you'll be better off using SMG/Jarate/Razorback if you're a hardscoping retard who never turns around.

I started playing TF2 during the initial Overwatch hype. A friend tried to convince me to play it and I got to play for a few hours and it felt like a railgun shooter, but I liked some of the elements. After all the "Overwatch is a cheap TF2 knockoff" threads I thought it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot. Didn't do it earlier because of the cartoon graphics, which basically everything has nowadays, and all the raffling and shit like that.

One of the problems I have with new people getting into TF2 is that TF2 is an extremely different game depending on the context. There's pubs which are just a fuck all fuckfest that doesn't illustrate any of the strong points of TF2's design, and there's competitive settings like 6s or Highlander which are better ways to see how TF2 can be a nuanced, competitive fps game. Problem is it's hard to be aware of this when you're just coming into TF2 and will probably just hit the casual match button over and over.
