People are complaining about the rogue quest, about the mage quest, when really, these are baby's first combo decks. You have to play a card that puts a glowing symbol above your head that says, 'hey, I'm trying to complete my combo!'

'Oh, they're so non-interactive!' Yeah, that's the point! An ideal competitive deck in any card game wants to be as non-interactive as possible. You want to have a plan to win, you want the cards in your deck to work towards that plan, and you want to accomplish your plan as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Card games, once they become sufficiently complex, devolve into a series of logic problems. What are the card interactions here that will allow me to most consistently win? I'm sure that's very engaging and stimulating for people who enjoy that sort of thing, but I'm not one of them.

Like, Lifecoach thinks that Gwent's going to be the next big card game, to which I respond: Have you ever tried to watch someone play Gwent? It's a math problem! It's so boring! 'I play my catapult in the back row. Oh dear, you've rained on my catapult.' You don't even fight anyone in that game!

I don't want to do logic problems. I don't want to have to think several turns ahead about what avenues I have left to accomplish my plan. I tried playing quest mage and assembling a win condition, and it was very stressful and I didn't enjoy it. My ideal meta is a durdly unoptimized clown fiesta where everyone puts the sweetest looking cards in their deck. Any cool synergies take place on a purely value continuum - Aha! I've made copies of all my minions! Oho! I get to discover twice! Shit, look at all these discounts I'm getting! I'm currently playing a priest deck with Lyra Sunshard, and it sucks and I'm bad at playing it and I lose constantly, but look at all these random spells I can get!

Other than possibly Soggoth, are there any other staple legendaries and epics to craft for Taunt/Quest Warrior?

Want to play at least one functioning Quest deck in ladder and don't want to do Shaman since I lack Finja and Patches nor Rogue because that shit's just fucking stupid.

The difference between decent card games with OTK combo decks and Hearthstone is that those other games offer a way to do things during the opponent's turn and interrupt a combo, even if they manage to get everything.

The only card in all of Hearthstone capable of doing that is Dirty Rat pulling a combo piece preemptively, which is fucking stupid. If it had an Instant/Trap Card mechanic or anything of the sorts, other than Secrets, OTK combo decks would be no problem. As it stands, they're just terrible and force people into Aggro roles in order to counter them, since most normal decks can't race them fast enough otherwise.

The meta seems good at the moment. You've got the strong decks but they have counters and everything inbetween is viable to some degree.

It's exactly what it is, a baby's first combo deck that gives you a lot of cool free cards if you play curveshit, so you can win unless you're playing against pirate warrior and he manages to pop all 4 of your ice blocks.
It's a "combo" deck for literal retards who couldn't climb with freeze mage even back in Mad Scientist era.
And there wouldn't be nothing wrong with it because I don't give a fuck about some fedora thought processes of people playing CCGs, but unlike freeze mage, it doesn't offer any meaningful counterplay except highrolling on Dirty Rat or hitting face with smorc shot or arcanite reaper fast enough.

Honestly, the game really makes a lot more sense if you look at the bigger picture. Like say in one game your opponent got really lucky and won because of some bullshit, it makes you mad, right? But then you realize you just won the last 4 games, even got some winstreaking because of it. Let's say you just make sure you play 30 games every day. Let's say you lose 10 of those games to some bullshit, 10 whole games, seems like a lot right? But then you realize you won 20 of those games, that's almost a 67% win rate which is really fucking good actually. You're doing really well and climbing a lot, despite losing 10 games that day. 10 games seems like a lot to lose and you might even lose 3 or 4 of those in a row that day, but overall you're actually doing well when you account for all 30 games for the day. This is on average of course: there can even be larger sample size when you can consider days where you just lose all day and other days where you do nothing but win, and how you can look back at the deck tracker statistics to see what you're running into most often vs. what you're weak against and maybe putting in some tech cards to help some matchups (or just look at vicious syndicate).

In short, if you're trying to actually climb ladder, just make sure you play a lot of games, 30 a day is a good number I think. Use deck tracker to keep stats and then you can review those stats at the end of the day with some real data behind you, maybe even make notes about the games you lost and why you lost (like you made a mistake vs. they just got something lucky that really has nothing to do with your deck or how you played).

If you don't care about laddering then don't get mad about losses because winning/losing doesn't matter. It's about the journey, not the destination, just enjoy the game. If your opponent gets some lucky shit, enjoy how absurd the luck is and laugh, it should be more important to you that cool shit happens in a match.

It's disgusting how powerful quest warrior is. Between Dirty Rat, War Axe, Brawl, Ghoul, Execute 8 mana drake that deals 2 dmg to minions they have a fucking answer for everything and you're the one on a clock because once they finish that quest it's GG.

Fuck this overpowered, overcentralizing fucking piece of shit deck. Holy fuck this is, yes I'm gonna say it, worse than Patron. Patron was broken but at least occasionally inconsistent Quest Warrior is broken but more consistent than Patron ever was. God I fucking hate this shitty desiggn team that let this shit hit live.

The main issue for me is that there's even less creativity now with decks. You have a card that literally tells you what to put in your deck and the reward is usually braindead OP so you're better off playing the quest version. It's not that it's impossible to beat but why would you gimp yourself playing regular Control Warrior or regular Freeze Mage when you can play the forced quest versions and get an OP finisher (2 mana rag hero power or skip a turn to do infinite damage)? I didn't pre-order and didn't play to save up a ton of gold so if I want to play Control Warr, one of my fav decks, I'm gimping myself more by not crafting the quest than in the past when you could sub say, Deathwing, with Elise for a different win con. One card legendary now has more impact than the others.. times 9 for each class.

It's not really interactive, limits creativity and it's not like past metas where you could get away with subbing stuff you missed. People bitched about Jade and Dragon priest being forced archetypes but this expansion has 9 of them now.

Unfortunately. Highest I ever got was rank 1, 3 stars pre-LoE when forgotten torch came out early and literally everyone was playing freeze mage. I queued up with control warrior and went from 5 to 1 really fast but got gatekeepered hard by the legend players. Should have kept going during those first few god hours but I tilted hard and quit.

I'm rank 3 with quest warrior at the moment so maybe this month will finally be the month.

From my experience, just play Big Beast ramp. If you manage to complete the Quest and get Barney out, you are probably already so far in the lead that you can win from there. You won't be able to play Barney if you are losing and if you can get him out, he's just win more.

Not really but he's a good body at any time of the curve which can help when you are digging for draws.

Quest rogues strength comes from finishing early and powering up "free" tokens and charge minions. Edwin doesn't really help said win condition but he does start at 5/5 and gain +2/+2 for every play.

Legally, can Blizzard alter card pack rarities without informing us?

If they want to silently nerf Legendary/epic/rare drop rates so we have to buy more packs, or increase the chance of dupes, they can do it legally without telling us, can't they?

Or if they remove the legendary pity timer?

Or even if they do something as obvious as making each card pack no longer guaranteed to contain at least one rare, could they get away with it?

Lyra is exactly what priest needed.
There's so little RNG in most priest decks that you rely purely on card draw and what's in your deck, and in RNGstone mage and shaman can be discovering "nonmeta" shit taht you're not equipped to deal with.
Lyra has a decent body for her stats and nets you about 3 cards on average, and goes fucking off if you managed to keep a radiant elemental alive before you dropped her.

I've stolen so many wins I should not have got because of how much value she produces.
I even accidentally inner fire combo once in a while.
