No, not at all. Most fans of the series like Eggman, and while this may or may not be as popular an opinion, I also really like some of the more real-life inspired locations like Rooftop Run or a couple other stages from Unleashed. I do think that "elements reminiscent of real world shit" are not universally a good thing, however. As themes for different settings I think they can be great, but as active forces shaping the story they can get bad. For example, while I understand the need for GUN as another source of robotic enemies separate from Eggman, I think that making them a violent and dark government sort of agency is unnecessary and out of tone of the series.

I think it's hilarious how the rebooted comic does sort of explain a lot of the odder things about Sonic's game continuity to some extent (the regions, origin of the Red Star Rings, Eggman's rise to power) yet the one thing it would never be able to explain is why the hell there's tiny animals and then Sonics. Old continuity said the tiny animals were unmutated or some shit, but I can't see them ever offering an explanation that makes sense without delving back into the post-apocalyptic stuff.

Sure but things should be added to facilitate the primary story with few deviations. They exist because Eggman wants to capture them and stuff them into robots, therefore any explanation that distracts from the primary story is unnecessary. Amy is able to reach speeds at least rivaling Tails just by running and is pretty fucking fast in Heroes. Silver may not be fast in 06 but he's canonically a speed character in Rivals and Runners.

Of all the characters who canonically go nearly as fast as Sonic can, only the hedgehogs go that fast on their feet.

I once had a theory that the Master System/Game Gear series of games took place before Sonic '06, revealing where the seventh emerald was all this time.
Once Elise blew out the flame, time would restart, and the Genesis timeline would play out instead.
I ran into a roadblock though. In '06, so many characters are introduced, all who clearly have their modern histories, such as Shadow clearly having lived through the events of SA2, Heroes, and ShTH.
The idea really couldn't work, but I thought it would have been a fun headcanon.

Really, things began going to shit around December 2015, when the comic was on hiatus and there was no game news to speak of. This was also about the time that there was a sudden burst of anti-drawfag sentiment, even against popular drawfags like ABT, Toby, and S-Dash. The general limped along and there were constant calls for /sthg/ to be left to die, especially after the 2016 "announcement of an announcement" SXSW panel. The panel also roughly coincided with the #500 milestone, and is considered by many to be when the general quality of threads went into a death spiral. It was after #500 that the "kill /sthg/" posters started in earnest, Classicfags vs. Boostfags became more bitter and vocal, Archie "character revamping" took root, the /trash/ boogeymen made themselves known, and Sparky began bogging down threads with arguing. Things have *slightly* improved as more game news has come, but the shaky status of the comics and halt on publishing has just opened up new opportunities for infighting. I won't say that the pre-2016 threads were perfectly harmonious, but it certainly felt like anons were at each other's throats a lot less back then.

I always loved "Mobius", and I don't understand why Sega is so allergic to the term. I get that it was American-made but if they don't even have any ideas of what to call the planet, why not just use Mobius? I'm a little biased because of how much I enjoyed the Archie comics aswell. I remember every issue opened with "Welcome to the planet Mobius", just a name can mean so much in helping you get stuck in this really crazy world - the reboot feels a lot more uniform with the games and I like that, but calling it "Sonic's world" just doesn't feel the same.
