Out at the arenas in reapers march. I ran into something like 20 players all rp'ing merchants and shit for a smaller group acting as visiting nobles. One of the vendors was selling dildos. The others were reacting to him like he was supposed to be there so he wasn't just some troll. So someone put together a highly complex RP scenario with a load of people and decided someone should be a dildo merchant and someone took up that position.

I'm getting kind of bored with ESO and feel like playing Morrowind because of the lead up to it. But when I remember playing it, it was kind of weird playing a mage because there wasn't any magicka regen, you can only use pots or sleep or something like that. Is there a good way to play a mage type character in Morrowind? Do I need mods? Should I post this in /tesg/?

You're probably gonna have a bad time without mods if you've already been spoiled by modern games with mana regen. If you want to do it vanilla, Find an alchemist you can get chummy with in a convenient area like Balmora or one of the Mages guildhalls. Mooch off the Mages Guild chests for magicka potions as much as you can. Take up alchemy to keep yourself loaded down with restore magicka potions, because those other 2 sources won't last you for the amount of time they take to replenish. Comberry/Daedra heart are the easiest ingredients to find iirc. Get The Mace of Molag Bal if you're a dirty daedra worshipper Choose the Atronach birthsign for additional """fun."""

Only in the sense that I have to "belong" to one of the alliances and therefore have a symbol over my head. But I don't touch the flags in towns or engage other playes/NPC guards in combat, and my character isn't even wearing armour (not nude, just normal clothing). So that symbol/having the ability to attack me really is the only reason.

That's still fine though, talking to NPCs in towns makes it clear how terrible all three alliances treat townsfolk, so certain soldiers attacking a player "just because" they can't/won't fight back actually makes sense.

I used to do that all the time in PvP in lord of the rings online. I'd go out on my hobbit, and play "What is Love" on my lute in the middle of the map. Wargs (the "evil" faction version of rogues) have a racial passive to detect hobbits, so they would stealth up and one shot me. As soon as they appeared, several stealthed rangers would alpha strike their asses. Good times.

I'm currently trying to finish the current parts of my set that do not require me to bother more experienced players into carrying me through harder content for the sake of gear.

Vom is one of the easier vet modes. I can solo it on my magdk. Run it in normal first to get used to the mechanics (rushing groups of enemies, job placement, etc.) and bosses. Then read up on the differences. The last boss is incredibly easy, you just need to move five feet forwards or backwards to avoid his one hit KO move.

You could be lucky and get the five pieces in a few days. Then it's a matter of getting them in the right trait on those pieces. I've done about 140 runs, 110 of those solo, and I am still missing one piece in divines (gloves). Took me about 25 runs to get all of the pieces for the five piece bonus, then all of those runs to get the pieces in the right trait.

Abilities scale off what they cost, Magicka scales off Max Magicka and Stamina off Max Stamina. Ultimate is whatever is higher.

Don't try to be a hybrid in terms of DPS, Tanks get a little more leeway in using both Stamina/Magicka. Generally a Stamina DPS will use Magicka solely to buff and a Magicka DPS will use Stamina just for Break Free/Bash/Roll Away

Use Heavy attacks to restore Magicka/Stamina (Staves restore Magicka, everything else Stamina)

Light Armor is for Magicka
Medium Armor is for Stamina
Heavy Armor is for Tanking

Generally speaking the classes are divided as such (but you can do whatever you want really)
Templar = Healer
DK = Tank
Nightblade/Sorc = DPS

64 into either stamina or magicka. Light/heavy attacks with staves scale off you max magicka, and the rest, stamina. other than that, play however you see fit until you want to do some harder stuff. You can respec at your alliance capital any time. If you want to take up crafting, research traits as soon as you can. There's enough skill points in the game to screw around with and be combat-efficient.

Conflicting reports, but most people get a speedup with the .ini tweak. It puts even more more stress on the CPU though. I use -1 and I can get 60fps in most areas. Hook 64 and post processing will stress your gpu depending on how much shit you enable, but it's mostly superfluous. The disable fog setting in Hook64 is zero cost.

each of the 4 classes have class skill lines. each weapon type has weapon skill lines. You can (at level 15) equip two weapons to switch between. Most (but not all) builds use two different weapons, and then have (usually) a mix of weapon and class skills.

There are also some other sources for skills.

There are many situations where a class skill is very similar to what a weapon skill does. The passives a weapon provides can also be important in your choice to use one. A magicka templar for example will use dual wield on one of their bars but not have a single dual wield skill to speak of, and use almost entierly class skills, just because dual wielding swords gives you a blanket damage increase once you have the right passive.

Find a guide if you dont know what to do. But you can respec pretty easily in game so dont worry about it if you dont want. The important thing is to know that you level skill lines by having skills on your bar when you get exp. So try to have skills from your various skill lines populating your bars so they all level up.

Before the change i had around 30 fps in cities and cpu utlity was always around 60%
After the changes i have 60+ fps but my cpu is mostly at 100%

Come Morrowind a warden might work as a bow-main DPS in PvE, since you could weave cliffracer with the light attacks on the bow and I think basically all of the other animal companion skills are ranged and most have stam morphs.

I have no idea how hardware works. If I had to guess it's because the textures from the ingame settings are downscaled from the -3 textures. the further they're scaled, the more stress on the GPU, but less stress on the CPU to swap to and from mip textures and vice versa.

just a heads up, when you get XP it applies to everything on your current skill bar + weapon/armor equipped. I wouldn't suggest putting a skill point in everything, but you do get a shit load of skill points over the course of the game. You can always flip between playstyles as you see fit.

Gear is going to bite you in the ass there but depending on how long you have been playing you will probably wind up with a few different sets to mess with.

You can pretty much change your play style around whenever, but you'll find things more effective than others as you figure out what playstyle and skills you want. Also, don't be afraid to level alts. My main is a stamina DK that tanks, and I rolled a magicka DK for shits and giggles, and it plays very different, you almost can't tell they are the same class.

And when you hit level 50 (max character level) then you'll start to earn champion levels, which you place into a completely different set of skill trees.

Pretty much. For example, on my DK tanks, my one hand a shield abilities that are for taunting and debuffs (pierce armor and low-cut) are stamina based, while a lot of my crowd control abilities from my class (like choking talons and chains) are magicka based. Because I'm an orc, my stats are split even between stamina and magicka. I use the atronauch stone for more magicka regen, since I can always heavy attack to regain stamina. I can do this because I don't really need to DPS, I maintain aggro and debuff the enemies (pierce armor inflict fracture and breach, reducing physical and spell resist on the enemy, low cut and talons inflict maim, reducing how much damage enemies do). I also have vigor and warhorn (pvp skills) so I can pinch heal the group to help the healer out (comes in handy for several dungeons where the healer needs to divide their attention, like the Roided out Argonian and mazzatun) and keep the group buffed (more resources and more crit). Because of this, I need both resource pools, all while maintaining my 32k health pool (with food buffs).

well 160 is when gear stops scaling but 600 is the current "cap" its not meant to be burned through since its account wide. 160 is what you should shoot for because then its over and done for every character you have.

Well, you should have gotten 4 million enlightened XP when you hit champ levels, that got me to 98 in about 3 days of regular questing and daily pledges. After that, getting to 160 took another week or so. If you really want to level through it, take advantage of the last week of the double xp, spend some money on psijic ambrosia, and ask someone/a guildmate to give you a hand in skyreach. With that, should be two to 5 champ levels a run, about 5 - 8 minutes a run.

They have healing and defensive buff options, sadly I don't think they'll touch Templars ability to give people stamina but they might contest the raw healing throughput and the defensive buffs might outweigh the potential cons.

Of course we won't really know anything until closed beta starts and we see tuning passes.

For grinding mats either Wrothgar or Craglorn there's a lot of nodes and chests to be found there and the chance for nirncrux isn't bad in terms of money.

do i need an x level character for when morrowind comes out? i mostly just care about playing morrowind as im a huge fan.

i fell in love with the (pvp) playstyle of a balance druid from wow. now i simply long for something that is at least close enough; semi-tanky, dots, harder to apply damage after tough setup. not to mention NATURE
all this considered makes warden seem neat, however i cant find much info about the classes full kit.

There's only one PvP area which is Cyrodiil, but you can duel people outside of Cyrodiil.

You don't need a level anything to do the non hardcore content, everything scales to you and it will include Morrowind. If you create a character and lvl him up to 50 and then cp 160 the max gear level won't increase the expansion. Seems like they learned that horrible lesson from past MMOs and their power creep.

If you loved Druids it seems like when Morrowind comes out the Warden class will be right up your alley. You can choose if you want to start playing now or when Morrowind comes out and either way we'll wait for you here, bb.

Yup. Everything scales to your level. You are scaled to 160, and if you get any drops, you will get them individually and leveled out your level.

In dungeons, every member of the group will get their own drop from the boss that is scaled to their level.

So, from the look of things, Argonians are a pretty balanced race. I don't really know what to expect since I've only played the mainline TES games but in mmo's I like to take the role of support/tank, like a Paladin. I'm a little confused on wether or not I'm supposed to use weapons at all and can only use the restoration staff? The doc in OP says to stick to either Stamina or Magic and it looks like all weapons deal with stamina.

That is because skills that use stamina as a resource will scale their damage off of your stamina, and magicka the same way. If you want to play a tank/support, then DK might be a good fit. Since they use weapon skills for their effects (pierce armor taunts and inflicts fracture and breach, lowering physical and magicka resists in the target, and low-cut slows and inflicts maim, reducing how much damage they do) and magicka skills for crowd control (talons to hold enemies in place and inflict aoe maim, and chains to pull targets to you), you don't have to worry about damage, instead splitting your stats for resource pools. The downside, my tank gets around 3 - 5k DPS, while DPS do 20k - 40k.

For other classes and playstyles, you can always use your weapons for damage a d level for that. For exams, as a stamina night blade, you level stamina for your weapon skills and use some of your magicka skills for utility, like life stealing and evasion

Stamina and magicka are your two resource pools, you use them to use your class abilities. Most skills are magicka based but when a skill reaches level four you can morph it. Some skills can be morphed into a stamina based one. There are also weapon skills with their own abilities. There are flame, lightning, frost and restoration staffs these are for the characters who want to build a magicka based characters, every other weapon is stamina based. Sometimes magicka characters use stamina based weapons and vice-verse but don't try to figure it out just yet, you'll understand what does what when you get more experience.

Argonian passives are suitable for magicka based characters, especially healers. Templar is the class with its own spesific healing skill tree along with restoration staff skills. Argonians are also very suitable for nightblade class but you can create your argonian with any class you want.

You can use any weapon you want, build your character however you like. Your character works better with magicka but you can make it a stamina based character if you want. It won't perform just as well but you can do it. You can also respec your stats and skills by spending some gold.

You got bonuses to resto staff exp gain but it is not that relevant, you can use damage based staffs just as well.

I've still got a few hours before the game is finished downloading. I'm just going to have to play the game before I can really grasp on what I should do with my character. The one thing I know that I do want is be able to fight with a weapon but have supportive magic. It looks like I won't be able to play this like Skyrim like I thought I could, especially since there are no crossbows and bows seem weak in general.

In my most recent run of Skyrim, my character down use melee weapons at all but uses a crossbow, destruction magic and a lot of alchemy. This run also has some mods though so obviously it isn't to play the same.
