Depends on what kind of gameplay you enjoy.

Tank is outside of a few buff pure reactionary gameplay, positioning is important.

Damagedealers are expected to enter zen in order to keep their rotation in pure perfection.

Healers are somewhat in between, you have your a rotation of buffs, debuffs and damage up and running while making sure you're not over-expending your resources so that you're already ready to help out when everything goes to shit. You can view healers as DD with extra responsibilities.

Be sure to use elemental drain for better sustain and harness magicka if you still feel squishy. Harness is a great shield and restores magicka based on damage abdorbed.

Also slot inner light from mages guild.
Increases magicka and spell crit just by having it slotted. And don't forget the 4th mages guild passive as it adds even more magicka for each mages guild skill slotted so if you have shooting star, magicka goes up even more.
I you feel like having too less health use buff food, slot structured entropy (which also gives major sorcery buff and magicka because of mages guild passive) as it gives ~5% more health and use at least one heavy armor piece (preferably chest for most armor but head or shoulder is fine too) and make sure to put points into the juggernaut passive, another 2% extra health.

Months ago I played this game like mad, completed main quest and reached champion 300 as DK. I had a really great time for some reason.

I was active in dungeons but over the days I have started playing less and less.

I can't put my finger on it but it feels like loot isn't that special, that you only get gear but they aren't any use to you when you are BiS. Rewards get stale.

How do I get into the game again??

vCoA2 is such a shitty dungeon to pug. I genuinely believe most people running it have no idea that the mobs spawning from the daedroth in intervals based on his health. So everyone who have cleared it did it with a group that managed to nuke him, so every shitter either nuke him or cheese him by the bridge despite not being equipped for it when the easy way to kill him is (to nobodies surprise) to attack him, attack the mobs when they spawn while making sure the boss doesn't take any damage, then continue attack him, attack mobs, and so on.

Ideally something that does well in all of group/solo/pvp.

I know healers/tanks usually fail in solo and sometimes pvp (in most other games at least). If that's true, then i'd prob go dps.

If they found some way to make it so it doesn't actually matter that much, then I'd prob need to educate myself a bit more about the classes first.

Well, you can always play a magicka user, and also train resto skills so you can heal as well (put a resto skill on your main bar, it'll level the resto skill line as you level). If you are magicka, then you won't need to respec between soloing/pvp/dps and healing, you'd just need to change your gear.

Templar makes one of the best healers, just because they have strong class skills for healing that really compliment the restoration staff skills. They can also solo really well, as some of their skills, such as jabs, do damage in a cone in front of you and heals for a portion of the damage that it does. They can also pvp pretty well, since you have skills like javelin that can knock enemies over, and can then use an ultimate like the soul magick or destro magick ultimate to do tons of damage, then finish them off with jesus beam (radiant destruction, does a metric fuck ton of damage to enemies below a certain percentage of health). This also makes them good DPS in dungeons, since jesus beam is a very strong execute, and they will be able to do damage from up close (templars can also make good use of dual wield, since you can cast class skill no matter the weapon/s you have equipped) as well as destruction staves.

I'm sure other will have other suggestions, but that would be my guess at a strong character that can fulfill multiple play styles.

Go with mag sorcerer, you can from dps to healer with a weapon swap and look fucking awesome doing either.

If you want something more melee, go with dragonknight.

I would not recommend a nightblade early on because they're mostly single target shit and boring or templar which has no damage.

You can get vigor and caltrops easily with any old shitty pve build. Just play during prime time and follow the zerg around and collect AP from keep and resource capture/defense

Use that AP on wall and door repair kits to get bonus ap from them.

You should be able to go from 0 to 5 easily in a day, two at most.

There are two different sources of exp in dolmens. Daedras and the dolmen completion exp, you get dolmen completion exp if you contribute at least some damage to a daedra spawn and you get exp for each daedra you hit.

If you hit any daedra you will be eligible for dolmen completion exp and chest.

You can repair, you can destealth enemies, you can act as bait. When your allies rush out to attack an enemy siege you can go with them to make the enemy see more bodies moving towards them for added panic. You can burn enemy siege weapons/camps. You can resurrect people.

Lots of stuff you can do. I always went to BWB as a level 10 with shit gear and just tried to help in such ways. It is probably easier to do this in BWB when there are a lot of shit 10s and 20s running aorund too, but most of what i said puts you in no real danger. Just be a coward.

There's 50 ranks in cyrodiil's pvp, awarding a skillpoint every two ranks so that's 25SP right there. Then there's roughly 45 skyshards, divide that by three and you get 15SP. Totaling in about 40SP, not sure if this is the end result though.

This is one of the points that really gets me. It's silly enough that even Khajiit turn white (!?) but it's an extra kick in the balls that your markings, be they tattoos on men/mer, or fur patterns on khajiit becomes almost indistinguishable. I don't have an argonian vamp but all the ones I've seen look like blobfish so I have to assume it fucks scale patterns (scale styles?) too.

More or less, you queue up and go into a cordoned off PvP zone to PvP, your team decided by your alliance. There's towers and keeps and shit, with siege weapons and zergs and roaming gankers, etc.

There's no PvP while leveling unless you play the below-50 PvP campaign, which is just the same map but filled with only low-level characters. PvE zones are PVP free unless you just run around spamming duel requests at people and accepting their duel requests.

Cyrodiil is the 'PvP zone' but there's PvE content (towns/quests/delves/exploration) too. I actually kind of enjoy the sense of real danger exploring Cyrodiil and hang around there a lot despite never engaging in PvP proper (I got my Alliance War skills up mainly repairing walls/doors of keeps)

Look at the racials, and try to pick a play style that meshes. For example, orc/redguard/bosmer/etc. have bonuses to stamina, so a stamina character would be best. Start to train your horse, even if you don't have one yet, since it takes time. Train speed first. Don't buy armor or weapons, you'll get them often enough from quests and drops. Instead spend money on upgrading your inventory and bank space. Touch fluffy tail. Ayrenn is a bitch and aldmeri dominion is the SJW faction. Ebonheart Pact is the drunk nord pig fucker faction. You won't get one shot by a fire spell as a tank unless you're a "tank" you has 10K HP, isn't using food and is wearing a fucking dress. The recovery is a godsend and the DR is a lifesaver.

25% increased fire damage at stage 4 is kind of fucking nothing when you factor in Elemental Defender and all the buffs and debuffs you're going to be shitting out as a tank anyways, especially with a healer at your back.
