I'm that anon, and I forgot a few things in my break down.

All of my data was gathered with the first rank weapons.
While the Phalanx had more damage per clip, and could be considered to have a generally higher DPS thanks to having double the rounds before reloading (I do not trust my rounds per second, or DPS calculations), it does appear to have the second highest single shot damage for pistols. The accuracy doesn't hinder it much at all at normal pistol ranges. It ends up being on about the same level as the Phalanx at the end of the day.

However the Sidewinder has more augmentation slots than the other "normal" pistols, with three to the Carnefix, Predator, and Phalanx's two, making it a more customizable weapon. Would one more augment really change things up for it, I'm not really sure, I've not really researched many of them to have a wide net for it.

I used it a bit in the trial. Using something like Infiltrator from long range for headshot damage, then when they came in closer changing to Engineer for my tech shenanigans.

But now I just use Sentinel where I can detonate two things at once, or one thing twice in a row with Incinerate, Energy Drain and Shockwave.
