Your sibling is wounded while still in stasis so they have to stay in their pod while in an induced coma for a bit longer. You go down to Habitat 7 with your dad where tl;dr shit goes wrong and he dies, but before he dies he transfers the position of Pathfinder to you. It happens really fast and you're on the verge of death when it happens, so SAM becomes a permanent part of you and it's too risky to try separating you two.

Based on the first 45 minutes video, I agree that the dialogue feels stilted and sometimes cringy. And the facial animations don't help matters. There are awkward pauses between lines of dialogue.

My problem with it is basically the less extreme version of Josh Sawyer of Obsidian's views on romance in RPGs. It dilutes the characters in exchange for the most direct form of pandering possible. ME romance can be rote enough as it is, I'd hate to see it be even more so. I say this as a straight male who finds Suvi to be the most attractive member of the crew in MEA by far.
