Only 2 thing in planetary interaction require you to be undocked in the same solar system: placing a command center and moving things between the launch pad and customs office. Everything else can be done literally anywhere.

Yes. The highsec customs offices charge an NPC tax on top of the owner tax. I don't think the lowsec ones do, but I'm not entirely sure.

Just make sure to
1) keep all your planets in the same system to avoid taking gates when you don't have to
2) never put anything into your planet, only take things out because you will have to pay tax to the owner every time you move things in or out. Last I was in lowsec, Shadow Cartel owned all the customs offices, their holding corp name was the weak and the scrawny.

rigging is good for low-cost pvp, unfortunatly not like that. You're survivability in a rifter is going to come down to mobility. You have the right idea with the meta plate, but nothing else is meta'd. Don't use T1 modules or ammo in PVP.

Trimarks and plates hurt your mobility, AARs jumped up in price, SARs IIs are shit on frigs, normally you don't want to use them, but in this case you don't have much of a choice if you're going for cheap.

Slasher is a better ship than the rifter for close range brawling, rift has falloff bonus you want to make use of.

Something like this. Your primary targets are going to be blaster ships without a range bonus, or ships that use long range weapons that you can orbit tight.

The Atron does this better with rails, and the Firetail/Hookbill are also fantastic at it as well. These are called "scram kiters. They stay in far scram range, 7-8km of so, to abuse their range against brawling ships.

Big thing about projectiles and missiles is selectable damage time, you want to bring Fusion/EMP and Nova/Mjolnir at minimum. against t1 ships, shoot Fusion/Nova (explo) at armor ships, and EMP/Mjolnir (EM) at shield ships.

You're going to lose a shit ton while learning what you can sig (orbit tightly so they can't hit you) and what you can scram kite (keep out of range where you can do decent damage to them but they can't do decent damage to you).

What I did when I was learning, is learn with something similar to that, and then when I feel like I'm loosing fights that I engaged well, but my ship just under performed, then I stepped it up.

but lose 25-50 of those while learning to pay attention to d-scan, engage at right ranges to minimize damage (0 against targets you want to sig tank and bout 7k against targets you want to range tank). Once you're not dieing due to poor engagement range/not paying attention to local/d-scan Then you know you should step up the ship game, for firetail I like something like this for scram kiting.

With your state of mind you go out, get fucked, and try to blame the game rather than think "How could I not have got fucked" and treating your explosions as learning experience. Eventually you start only getting fucked half of the time, get even better and you only get fucked maybe 25% of the time.

After I did my extensive t1 frig losses, learned, and went back to firetails, I went on a fucking beginners luck spree and got maybe 10 or so solo kill in a night.

You need to understand these details to be able to fit your own ships correctly and to be able to made decisions when piloting, both in fleet and solo pvp.

You don't have to spend out of the ass, you just have to know when, what, and how to engage. Will you get outplayed. Yes. Will you run into some implanted to fuck and blingy pirate frig that fucks you when you otherwise might have been fine, yes. Is that the norm? No. Is it worth it when you fuck them? ABSOLUTELY.

I can now fly T2 Amarr frigs and the tactical destroyer in a few days. All of my gun supports are at 4 and I can use T2 small beams/lasers, same applies for rockets.

Actually you need at least 2 for most of the ships and you need all support skills for every ship, also you want lvl5 so you can get t2.
