Well, if we look at a different genre and FFXIV, which was a financial disaster at launch, what they did was replace the lead designer who then turned the game into a shameless WoW clone with absolutely no innovations and stolen mechanics. It managed to get the game more sales, mainly from blind FF fans based on nostalgia.

The thing is, Square-Enix invested a lot of money into the rehaul of the game to save their reputation. Will Sony find it worth it to invest a lot of more money into SFV? That's the only question.

Alright dude I'll assume you're not trolling here and give you an actual answer

Johnny's "mixups suck" the same way "Sin's mixups suck", as in the way they work is not the same as millia or ram. It's not primarily based on high / low or left / right mixups (althogh he has those too in certain situations) from knockdowns, he keeps you blocking and building guard bar while frame trapping you and going for throws and some high / low stuff if you are being too respectful (like from 2H strings). He also gets TK mist finers into full combos

He builds guard bar really fast and he can keep you blocking for a long time, and the second you make a wrong move trying to interrupt when you think he's throwing you, you eat some of the highest damage output in the game, or a coin in the face and the next combo is going to hurt even more

I don't know what planet you're living on man but johnny is one of the best characters in the game for a reason

Get really consistent at tiger knee super with Cable. Learn how to do it from his st.hk, learn the timing on his guard break (j.hp as they're coming in but when they're still off screen).

Learn basic zoning patterns (gernade, drones, beam etc) you want to keep them away from you at all times. Cable gets fucked up in close range against Mag and Storm. Cyclops is your best friend in keeping them off you and you can convert into super if he hits.

Really the best thing you can do is just watch other scrubs and scrubclops on yt. It's a pretty straightforward team with nothing that's too hard execution wise until you get into advance Sentinel and Cyke with reflys and infinites.

On a content-per-capita scale. SFV is actually more expensive than GGXRD even if you bought every iteration for it.

On top of the initial 60 dollars of the game itself and assuming that you paid for all the characters via fight money (which is mathematically impossible right now.) You would still need to shell out a whopping $120 for you to buy all the costumes and that's for all the non exclusive stuff like the Christmas or Halloween costumes.

At least when you buy Xrd you get the whole and full package.

Also there's 30 costumes on the DLC store right now that you literally cannot buy with anything else other than real money and that was where I got the $120 from since I purposely didn't factor in anything that you could possibly get for free.

Again Xrd gives you all its content for $100 assuming you bought every iteration for it on PC. That's less than all of SFV DLC in a single year combined.

I'm looking into places to do my PhD and wondering about the fighting game scenes places. I've been able to find plenty of stuff for California, Chicago, and Boston, but does anyone have any ideas about the fighting game community at say Princeton, Penn State, or OSU?
