I found a large artifact that was 'activated by physical touch.' I tried the following to no avail:

Touching it with and without gloves.

Hitting/touching it with: a crowbar, wrench, toolbox.

Using a Dropper to drop 5u of thermite, plasma, water, sulphuric acid, toxin (mutagen???).

Using a beaker to drop ~90u of the above.

It didn't activate.

What did I miss? That's everything on the wiki and Probe said it wasn't bugged.
