Deleting cache means that 511.1365, 511.1367 and stable (510.1347) work fine. Not absolutely perfectly (some very minor lag). 1365 is my pick for now.

There should probably be a radiation_act() proc that gets called when a mob is irradiated, along with the intensity of the radiation, fed in as an argument.

As far as effects, you could make mob size actually matter for more than just picking them up, then make radiation change the size of mobs along with the appropriate scaling of their sprite. You could even add effects like altering their luminosity or color matrix.

What about giving all atoms a var for how well they retain radiation, and making the radiation storm event irradiate random areas of the station, which ticks up the radiation vars of all the atoms in that area. Certain things will lose their radioactivity fast enough that you could just give it a minute and the area would be mostly safe, while others would require active decontamination in order to render them safe in a timely manner.
Additionally, as an atom's radiation counter ticks down, every atom within a certain radius of it with a lower radiation counter has its ticked up, so you could bring something radioactive into a clean area in order to contaminate the area.

It would be interesting to have radiation contamination, currently the contamination function is only for plasma. Rather than In radioactive field = tox out of radioactive field = fine, maybe have it build up radiation on your character and any items, which cause problems until it naturally decays or is removed via washing or the right meds. Sorta like the current genetics radiation level but ticking much slower.
Of course what would really be nice was making it so that each source of radiation wasn't its own snowflake version, so things like powering the station via collectors around uranium walls become possible.

Just as a friendly reminder for you obviously newer players that haven't been here through pomfstations history - the radstorms been a few different things. All unsuccessful.

They were much longer but less immediately deadly (which one person above suggested >>168761224 ). People hated it. Believe it or not standing in maintenance waiting for something to end isn't fun.

Likewise it was as short as it is now but extremely lethal and people weren't huge fans of that but weren't as opposed as the long slow storms that had you sit in maint for several minutes.

Though I do miss when rad storms were pretty fucking lethal and quick to occur. I don't think I've ever seen people make hyronalin except geneticists. It used to be a big deal and 'imidazolin' tier where you had to stock it but it wasn't roundstart urgent.

I even managed to use it while it was hidden behind the door by alt-clicking the tile to select the console while the shutters were closed, and recalled it while having a natural conversation with the customer in front of me who ended up being one of the people who defended me against the lynch mob
Shame about the station damage part though. I tried to ask everyone who came in what the damage was like and most of them said it was bad, but I kept recalling because the ghetto officer had a good gimmick going and I was hoping he'd succeed at his power grab.
