Yue Fei was born in 1103 in the Song Empire, the son of tenant farmers. He loved studying military and history classics, particularly the Three Kingdoms, and once expressed a wish to be considered the equal of Guan Yu. Some people later pointed out the coincidence of the shared personal name to call him a reincarnation of Zhang Fei.

In 1122, aged about 19, he joined the army and became a common soldier. In 1127, the invading Jin sacked the Song capital, capturing the Emperor, but a younger brother of the Emperor, Zhao Gou, posthumous name Gaozong, escaped and declared a renewed Song regime in the south.

Yue Fei first led desperate rearguard actions against the Jin invaders pouring in from the north, and then put down banditry in the south to secure Gaozong's government, gradually rising through the ranks. In 1133 he was placed in charge of the defense of the middle Yangzi (coincidentally about the same area Guan Yu was deployed). There he repulsed invasions and led counteroffensives north, capturing Xiangyang and Fancheng (which Guan Yu famously failed to do), and by 1141 was on the verge of retaking the old Song capital, when Gaozong ordered him back.

"Ten years of effort thrown away in one morning!" said Fei.

Upon returning to the capital, he was arrested and charged with treason. His fellow Generals of course protested to Gaozong's Chancellor Qin Hui, demanding to know what evidence there was against Yue Fei. Qin Hui infamously replied: "There doesn't need to be any."

In early 1142, Yue Fei died in prison.

Yue Fei famously did not take concubines, only remarrying once when his first wife left him out of frustration for his military life. His second wife was supportive of his ambitions. They were very devoted to one another.

During the Jin-Song wars, gunpowder warfare innovation flourished, with the invention of grenades, mines, and rockets.

I just finished watching Arslan just to play the musou. I have two big problems. The main character is one of the worst I have ever seen, he doesn't fucking do anything. He's just good, that is all. Fight? Nope. Strategy? Nope. He just has everyone else do everything for him. I wonder if they also wipe his ass.

Second problem is more of a general annoyance, one I have with a shitload of anime that are adaptations. No real resolution, it just ends.

The juggernaut ship in Wei back then was Xiahou Dun/Cao Cao. I think Zhang Liao got shipped too, but the fujostuff was more prominent in Wu and Shu compared to Wei, because there were no prettyboys save for Zhang He. Cao Pi wasn't usually shipped within his own faction when he became playable.

I disagree. The gag ones (Mame Basara/Wan-nyan Basara) are fun, Yak Haibara's (the only one I think that got translated to English) is pretty decent as well, and based on the spoiler scans I've seen, Dokugan looks pretty hype too, while it does focus on Masamune and Kojuuro, obviously, Yoshiaki gets decent focus as the first antagonist,and Kenshin and Kasuga and then Maria and Nagamasa seem to be a secondary protagonists. Amusingly for a Basara manga there is a shitload of oppai fanservice-- Maria, Kasuga, Magoichi, and a few random chicks all have tig ol' bitties, some panels focusing on them..

I'm almost certain Basara isn't as niche in the US as Capcom would like to think, and yet it's surprising you see the most random shit get scanlated but none of the newer Basara stuff. Fucked up.

I think that might have been anon's point. Modern Koei refuses to show anyone as incompetent, stupid, or in a bad light except Wei Yan. Yoshimoto used to be a moronic goof, now he's just pretending. They even twisted Liu Shan so that he's actually just too intelligent for battle. It for a very boring cast, at least to me. Especially in DW where the only one allowed to anything wrong is Dong Zhuo.

I've bought a few Warriors games over the past 2 years and I've only now gotten around to playing through them (Cheers backlog!) I've just completed story mode on DW7. I hear Conquest Mode can be fun but time consuming. Now I normally don't mind time consuming stuff, but I've also got those other games to move on to. Unlock Oichi and clear her red route, play as her again and the green route will open up, follow it until you get to Karasu Castle, beat the stage by killing Tenkai (hidden path) and you'll be able to select Honnoji as the next battle (purple route).
Once you've got her purple ending play any story mode and before the last stage (blue/red route depending on the character) you'll be able to play Siege of Kanegasaki instead of it, unlocking Honnoji as the final battle (black ending).
Get the black ending with any character and you'll unlock Nobunaga.

Making Liu Bei more ambiguous instead of him being benevolence mememan would go a long way since he's the leader.

Something like this, in the early years of the war, Liu Bei would fight against the obvious evils; the Turbans and Dong Zhuo. But once the alliance against Dong Zhuo breaks up, it becomes much harder to tell who the heroes and villains are. Uncertain where to go or what to do, Liu Bei turns to his old friend, Gongsun Zan. He fights for Gongsun Zan for a bit but he soon learns that Gongsun Zan has turned into a monster, so when given the opportunity to join Tao Qian in Xu, he accepts it. This leads to him being in charge of Xu and the conflicts with Lü Bu and Yuan Shu, and his ultimate surrender to Cao Cao. But he quickly decides that Cao Cao is no different than any other usurper and betrays him. After his rebellion is crushed, he flees to Yuan Shao and, seeing how bad Yuan Shao is, he flees to Liu Biao. There, he sees what a kind and generous man Liu Biao is and how he maintains peace through his benevolence. Seeing this, Liu Bei decides that he wants to be that kind of leader. After Liu Biao’s death comes the conflict with Cao Cao and the events that culminate with Liu Bei’s conquest of southern Jing. He intends to follow Liu Biao’s path of kindness, but then Fa Zheng arrives and offers him Yi. Though Liu Bei knows it is immoral, the temptation proves too great and he conspires against Liu Zhang with Fa Zheng. He invents justifications for this, but in the end we all know it’s just him trying to dress up open ambition and betrayal. Throughout the rest of his career, he follows this path, trying to disguise ambition as kindness. He wants to be a good person but is too weak to actually do it. On his deathbed, he confesses his crimes to Liu Shan and Zhuge Liang, begging them not to make the same mistakes he made.

You know the blue sake bottles that restore your extella maneuver? The yakisoba is green and restores health, the meatbun of Fate/Extella, if you will. They have higher chances of dropping when you're low on health and if you equip the luck up skills after using an extella maneuver on a group of enemies. If you're at full health, they pretty much don't drop at all (unless you have the luck up skills). So simply go to area you need to go and get wailed on until you're low on life. If the area is your territory, you have to let the enemy invade it or take it over.

Knowing Capcom they'd probably still make him complex with directional inputs. He's pretty faithful in UMvC3.
