New patch fixing various issues that were keeping people from playing. Also Skeletal Defenders can guard and the Bone Bearer can attack from first position now.

So what new enemy is giving you the most trouble? For me it's the Skiver; fucker hits hard, has a lot of health, prot, and dodge.

Virago is pretty tough too, but the Bearer and Ghast haven't given me any issues so far.
>>
>>167787112
I didn't meet the skiver or the virago yet, even though I did weald and warrens, must be lucky
the ghast is pretty annoying, but I think the bone bearer should have something to do at ranks 1-2
>>
I SHOULD KILL YOU ALL! I SHOULD-
>>
>>167787112
Bone Bearer has given me issues in full parties. Now that he can attack from the front he might be harder.
>>167787216
There's only a 20% chance to encounter one of them, so it's not super surprising if you didn't see them on your first run through.

Yeah, twice. Both times the game crashes upon entering the mission. Apparently there was a an update not long ago that fixed some technical issues with the patch, so many it can be done now.

>>167789343
Yeah they released a fix for the crashes like 30 minutes ago.

I should've screencapped the ruins I had, the hallways were very oddly shaped, like almost an arc
>>
>>167791908
Due to GR Poison darts that also bring a blight resistance debuff onto the enemy, it should be way easier after the first turn to get blight stacked
>>
>>167792508
It was too much to ask for, the party scramble was REALLY bad especially with the skills these week 3 nobodies had available

Crusader to the back rank, and he only has 1 Forward. Didn't know Holy Lance.

GR to the front where she can do nothing at all, doesn't know pick to the face. She COULD move back 2 to rank 3 and start darting but that would mean pushing the rank 2 PD even further away from rank 3 where she needs to be to start blighting...

By the time I had my party in suitable conditions, one clapperclaw already had like 200% prot, two party members afflicted, and all around bad times.

He's a wandering boss that you have a chance to run into if your inventory is 60% or more full. It's more than possible to go multiple runs in a row without running into him, but the reverse is also true. He's an encouragement to make sure your parties have backline control, so take that into consideration when making a party as much as you feel you need to.

Unless you're playing in NG+/Stygian, there's no way to "lose" the game or make a mistake big enough to permanently screw you over. The worst that can happen is you being forced to grind a bit more.

There's a single event that can set back progress on your hamlet, but it doesn't appear until you're decently far in the game. It only hurts your hamlet if you skip it entirely though, failing it or giving up on it don't penalize you.

they are making a game they want to make, on their own terms, with a clear scope and goals, so it isnt plaguied by runaway bloat as most other indie games (and the main reason publishers are actualy needed). They are confident enough that it holds up well on the market on its own (and they are right), so they have no need to hide behind marketing and drama to get publicity, nor are they forced into "antiplayer" practices by publishers.

Studios like them are close to being golden standard, that others should be measured against.

I don't like that they gave the Collected Vestal an ability she doesn't actually have. The MaA and HWM both have collected versions of their skills, Head Games (Guard) and Headhunt (Open Vein) but out of nowhere the Vestal has two abilities, one of which is a buff she doesn't normally have.

This is actually how G2A makes a lot of their keys, they generate fifty or a hundred fake emails and ask indie devs for review copies

Since indie devs are the most desperate for any free press, they give them away, then G2A sells those keys for half price - it's pure profit.
>>
>>167873049
While I'm sure it's more work than to be asked of the devs (no sarcasm, I'm truly pleased with how far DD has come), it would be interesting to have the corpses of human enemies resurrected as "fresh skeletons" or something, still bloody from the flesh they shed.

They could be like rabid gnashers and such, just to pad out Boner Bearer fights.

That would be pretty interesting. I personally don't mind them being brought back as they were since there aren't really any set rules for necromancy in the DD universe, but the variety would be neat. I went blind.

My team was Plague Doctor, Occultist, Leper and Hellion and I just stacked blight and Bleed because the first two missions cripple me very badly the first two fights and I got pretty much paranoid and got everything in the store aside shovels out of fear.

I explored quite alot of the map too since I got send out by one of the Cyst in the hallways and I went left instead of the center.

>>167896351
I did it with the first DD mission but I got impatient so for the second I said fuck it and jumped right away with little antivenom and atmost didnt make it.
>>
>>167896757
Antiquarian, trinkets with -100% food consumed for everyone (gotta love these free +5% hp events), no/low torch.
remember that you can also dump characters, you can literally send low level teams to die, take what the survivor(s) bring you back and ditch him/them before throwing the next one in the meat grinder
don't forget to abuse the antiquarian's camp skills
>>
>>167896974
>and got everything in the store aside shovels
That's pretty much what you should do for the darkest dungeon missions anyway, but without getting keys either. For the final darkest dungeon mission don't bother bringing food or torches though, it's just a boss so you don't need them.

What's a good strat for levelling up your heroes? I always feel like I have piles of Seekers and Apprentices, some Adventurers and not nearly enough Veterans. My week count is into the 70s or 80s by now and I've only managed to get 3 heroes up to Champion, and I've only got one Master at the moment.

Some recent boss runs which went poorly have now left me with even less level 3s - like only five or something, and two of thos are antiquarians. I've got this huge heap of level 0s and 1s and the prospect of levelling them all up seems daunting and tedious.
>>
>>167896757
A good counter to stress is to just run heroes with stress-healing abilities. Jester's objectively the best for this, but Crusader and Houndmaster are also pretty good. Doing medium/long dungeons can also be helpful, since camping can remove stress effectively and even cure diseases if you brought your Grave Robber or Plague Doctor with you.

Depends on what trinkets they are. >>
>>167918774
>a guess
Sure, here's a guess

Week 40+
At least four level 5 heroes
At least 8 trinkets available
>>
I should add that if you wanted an answer and not a blind guess, I could just read you the event info out of the game data
>>
>>167919214
>>167919412
Thanks, how would I be able to do that?
>>
>>167919807
First let me point out this: there are four crow-killing quests and all four of them offer a chance at the six corvid quirks (blindness, appetite, grace, eye, resilience, curosity). Of the six, three quirks are bad and three are good, you have twice the chance to get a good one if you succeed (and twice the chance to get a bad one if you fail). The first three are quests to get your shit back, in different difficulties.
>Apprentice Shrieker - to get back uncommons
>Veteran Shrieker - to get back rares
>Champion Shrieker - to get back very rares+

The last shrieker quest is to get his boss item, and it also is champion level. All four quests use the same weald map, crow_map1.

Now on to a more direct answer to your question, the event itself. Or rather, events. There are two!

>Crow steals your shit
Minimum week 21
Have at least 8 trinkets in storage
Base chance: 6 (+2 chance every time it is not rolled)
Cooldown after appearing: 3 weeks

The second event is to hunt the shrieker for its reward
>Minimum week 15
Same chance rates as the first one

Here are the event descriptions I mined out:

Bad Event
>Shrieker's Perch
>It scours the land, picking up the trinkets left by dead heroes and hoarding them in its rotting nest.

Good Event
>Shrieker's Prize
>Stunned by the apparent value of the the thing concealed amidst its putrid feathers, onlookers wondered if a trek to its perch might not be in order...
>>
>>167920305
That's super helpful actually, thank you very much anon. I was just dicking around by doing doomed runs with shit trinkets to see if I could proc the event. I was also a bit concerned because I killed him and didn't get anything, but I heard there were a lot of events so I wanted to make sure before assuming anything.

So is there any other class as good of a healer as vestal? It feels like I always need one.
>>
>>167921256
Occultist is less reliable but gives bigger heals overall. With a Cleansing Crystal you can reduce his chance to bleed allies and Junia's Head for more value out of heals.

Arbalest is an underestimated healer, with Medic's Greaves + Junia's she gets +63% heals, plus every time she heals she applies a stacking buff to healing (up to 38% per application). This means for healing a tank who will be taking in a lot of damage, the Arbalest can do very respectable single target healing.

It's certainly viable in apprentice, I've done it a hundred times myself, but champion requires so much more damage.

Just started playing. I've noticed that sometimes, after stunning an enemy on the first round of a battle, they get +80% or even up to 160% stun resistance buff. How's that possible?
>>
>>167926159
Whenever you stun an enemy, they gain a temporary stun resistance. You usually can't stun the same enemy twice in a row.
>>
>>167926462
I know that, but the buff is +40%, but sometimes in the first round, it's already at +80% or even +160%. I didn't take screenshots, next time I will.

I think I get what you mean. If you kill an enemy while they still have a stun resist in effect, it carries over to the enemy in that position in your next fight. The bug's been around forever, I guess they've just never gotten around to fixing it.
>>
>>167927131
That's some interesting bug. I want to check if it's carrying from past fights somehow and only triggered once you stun someone.

Anything that affects Speed and Dodge. Once you get Dodge to 40 you're pretty much untouchable so you want every little thing. Atk is also good but they're so spread out that there's not really a good one, other than the Light-Based ones. Acc is really good for Leper and Vestal since they have shit Acc, though Leper has trinkets for that, Vestal sadly has none so she'll always be delegated to Heal-Bitch. Slayer is also good, ManSlayer especially since most dodgy bitches are often Human (Old Crone, the Cultist Witch, and the Mad Man), plus it's literally the most common enemy type that you're guaranteed to meet them in all dungeons because of the Bandits, the Cultists, and the Madman while other types like Undead don't even show up much.

should I? When a Hunger Event comes, it could off my Occultist, and I really want him to not die since he's the only Occultist I have. If you're wondering, I haven't entered the Secret Room yet in favor of not ditching the items I have. If you're wondering why I'm so dead it's because I had a run-in with a Shambler, don't worry it was self imposed.

I finally killed a Shambler lads. Have had multiple parties either wiped or forced to run on various difficulties so that thing has been pissing me off. Wasn't hunting it either. After enjoying the shit out of this for a couple of days i happily bought it with the discount today.

Question though, has red hook made any of the heroes unviable in the long run, or can i simply put together any party i like and still win with it?
>>
>>167939602
Highwayman got nerfed some time ago but he's still very viable, every hero is usable but they depend on the scenario at hand. The only one people don't seem to use as much is the Leper due to his lack of mobility but that can be worked around.

The real balance issue is related to Trinkets since some of the Rare trinkets just aren't all that good, RedHook recently did that survey so I guess they're tacking steps to fix that issue.
>>
>>167939785

The shambler is a bit harder than the collector but you'll be fine anon, it's best if you take him on in Lvl 1-4 dungeons since in Champion levels he's not really worth the investment.

Just don't let the tentacles get too strong unless you have a way to handle them safely, and have a reliable way to reach the shambler no matter his position.

>>
>>167946703
The update itself is awesome and a very welcome addition to the game. I wish they'd kept the release in beta just a bit longer so they could figure out whether or not they wanted the Hunter system in Radiant mode, but other than that I have no complaints. The changes and new modes are really nice. I like Radiant mode a lot from what I've played so far and think it's a very welcome addition to the game, not really an "easy mode" so much as one that's quicker and more forgiving.
>>
>>167946703
Well it does what it says so i can't complain really.

Can you get Shambler's ancestor trinkets by other means, for example as quest rewards? I've gotten one even though I never fought him, don't remember how though. Crusader - Smite/Accuse/Stunning Blow/Inspiring Cry

Highwayman - Open Vein/Pistol Shot/Grape Shot/Tracking Shot

Occultist - Weaken/Reconstitute/Mark/Pull

Plague Doctor - Noxious/Disorient/Battlefield Medicine/Emboldening Vapors

I want to replace stunning blow since it seems completely fucking worthless half the time and I'm not really sold on my Doctor's build.

>>
>>167960334
Unless you fight enemies with lots of bleed/blight attacks switch Battlefield Medicine for Plague Grenade. Or for the bleed attack(forgot name) if they are blight resistant and move the doctor one position forward

For Crusader Holy Lance is always a good skill to have in case he will get shuffled to the back.
>>
>>167960443
Replace Stunning Blow with Holy Lance if you're not procing stun with it enough for your taste. Move the Occultist back one spot and put the Plague Doctor in 3rd. Swap Emboldening Vapors for Blinding Gas then swap between Incision, Noxious Blast, Plague Grenade, Battlefield Medicine and Disorient depending on the dungeon you're going into. I typically run Noxious/Disorient/Blinding/Plague for PD and swap Noxious for Incision when going into the Warrens or Weald.
>>
>>167960334
>>167961024
Also swap Open Vein with Wicked Slice if you're going into the Cove or Ruins, it does far more damage. Grapeshot is useful if you're picking off weak targets, but it's kinda piddly damage for what you could spend your turn doing instead.
You could also throw Sacrificial Stab on your Occultist and put him in 3rd if you're running a support PD and want to go into the Cove or Weald.

try arblest, occultist, houndmaster, bounty hunter for their mark synergy.
can hit every pos for big dmg, and fucking melts bosses.

Also keep an eye on jesters for stress heals and finale. start the fight with jester on front, delete one of their guys with finale, then just have him buff for a few turns then repeat. he can move to any positions in 1 turn.

Not every team needs a dedeicated healer like vestal or occultist, some heroes have pretty nice self heals (houndmaster, helion, leper, abomination), adaquate off-heals (plague doctor, antiquarian, crusader), and thanks to the extra muscle form the guy that isnt a healer, enemies go down quicker so theres less need to heal in the first place. Experiment with diferent comps to spice up the game.

Antiquarians are weak, but they generate money by allowing gold to stack for more (+500/antiquarian), and interacting with curios using the antiquarian(!) has a chance for slot-cost efficient anitques to drop. combine this with extra loot form dark runs, or even bringing 4 antiquarians for MASSIVE jewing

Dont waste money on destressizing/sanitariuming/upgrading lvl 0-1 guys, let them off and get new ones if they are that far down the shithole, then twinnk out the few that makes it past that stage.

Dont be afraid from +stress trinkets. they susualy compensate for it by not geting hit in te first place, or allowing crits/1hitkills that destress your guys a bit.

and FUCK spiders
>>
>>167960334
I'd recommend making a point-blank-shot+duelist's advance combo

They sort of dance around the front with a tank like a crusader or whatever and deal absurd amounts of damage.

I don't think the game ever explains this but 'riposte' gets activated for a few turns when you use duellists advance (or another skill on man at arms) which makes you instantly counter attack every time you're attacked. It comes in extremely useful sometimes.

Generally I'd take wicked slice over open vein, as it's better to get the enemy killed as soon as possible rather than over time. A lot of enemies have bleed resistance too

Other than certain specific enemies and bosses and areas, bleed/blight attacks aren't common enough for battlefield medicine to be worth taking. The AOE stun attack is super powerful. Generally if there aren't blight-able enemies, leave plague doctor at home

My advice: try not to be turned off from any comp or strategy on first impressions. Most setups and tactics are surprisingly viable if you plan them out carefully. Experiment.

Also, pay attention to enemy stats as well as those of your heroes (and their abilities).

Lastly, read up on the actual game mechanics here:
http://darkestdungeon.gamepedia.com/Heroes

Things are a lot more fun when you know what you're doing.

Any suggestions for 8-pounder party composition? I've waited for so many weeks to get an Arb and HWM to show up, no luck on either (I only have lvl3+'s).

Arbalest, Grave Robber, and Hellion are all solid picks to vaporize the Matchman every turn. Bounty Hunter is a good choice for rank 2, he can Mark the Cannon and just wail on it the whole fight.

Houndmaster's pretty good in that fight as well.

OUR FAMILY CREST IS ONCE AGAIN A SYMBOL OF STRENGTH

Did if with Vestal (lol) > MaA > Grave Robber > Hellion

Camp before boss used all 3 class-specific MaA skills

Grave Robber one-shotted the Matchman with Thrown Dagger 90% of the time, either MaA's Bellow or Vestal's Judmgement/Dazzling Light would finish him off.

Vestal healing offset all the Blanket Fire and Slices, Hellion did all the damage on the cannon with Wicked Hack (thanks to the Grave Robber she didnt ever need to use Iron Swan)

So I've been playing for 3 hours right now and all I've really been doing is running in and out of dungeons getting stuff to upgrade my town. I'm not really invested in anyone but just rapidly replacing them with fresher recruits. When is it a good time to actually start investing in a solid party?

Also what are the best ways to run Plague Waifu?

>tfw still no lepos
>>
>>167996495
That's kinda...alternative. I like it and it looks good. Thanks anon. In fact, if it's possible, could request a 63'd Templar?
>>
>>167996883
Once you've covered your bases in upgrading the stagecoach you could probably start looking into upgrading one or two of the buildings you prefer and looking at class quirks. I'd say the time to invest in characters is when you've got a feeling for who would be good to take on the first boss. Inevitably your trials by fire should pull out some pretty good guys.
>>
>>167997092
is there any disadvantage later in the game for shoving high stress guys into the abbey and just fooling around with sub parties until they're not crazy again? Besides my guys suddenly disappearing of course. Or is there better ways to treat high stress?
>>
Will my heavily modded pirated save works on original?
>>
>>167998128
Almost certainly not.
>>
>>167997268
Well there are a few ways to treat stress. You can take preventative measures by prioritizing stress dealers, evenly distributing out stress heal camping skills, bringing a party member with combat stress heals, etc. You could be reactive and treat it in town (you can actually get better numbers from town healing events if you leave stress heal trinkets on classes while they're doing it), using curios in dungeon or just letting them sit around and passively heal a bit of stress at a time while using everyone else. Unless you're on Stygian difficulty there's no penalty to fucking around with party compositions or using literally whos if you just wanna burn time while letting certain members heal. I'd caution having an "A-team" though if you do, that can be very bad later in the game when the difficulty increases and you suddenly lose a party member to something you didn't see coming or bad RNG.
>>
>>167997268
There are some other negative results you can get from the abbey and tavern. For instance, making your heroes pray has a chance to make them donate your gold to the church, and making your heroes gamble at the tavern has a chance for them to gamble one of your trinkets away. Stress relief is worthwhile overall, as long as you only use it on heroes that really need it.

The main alternative to using the abbey and tavern is to send heroes with stress-relieving abilities on quests. The graverobber, highwayman, hellion, leper, and vestal have party-wide unique stress-relieving camping abilities. The jester, houndmaster, and crusader go a step further and can heal stress during combat, too. You can exit a dungeon with less stress than you came in with if you build your party the right way, negating the need to use the abbey or tavern in the first place.

Don't listen to this guy. Up the stagecoach till you can get four people off of it each week, then start pumping the blacksmith and guild immediately. That way you'll have them usable at about the same time you understand how to use them.
>>
>>167996883
Depends on what kinds of builds you like runner her with. Do you prefer her as active support, passive support, active damage or a mix?
>>
>>167992448

Just BEING a monster is bad enough for the abomination out. That's why he gains stress every turn while transformed. It's not like it's a minor affliction to him, he hates it. So it isn't that surprising that to see others like him would be stressful too.

>>167953332

https://www.christianhistoryinstitute.org/magazine/article/what-was-leprosy/

During the Middle Ages, lepers came to be seen as called by God to a life of meritorious suffering and prayer. Most people did believe that lepers were being punished for their sins (especially sins of the flesh), but they were not viewed as being beyond redemption or cut off from the life of the non-leprous. In fact, the purification they achieved through their suffering was seen as redeeming not only their own sins but also the sins of others, both living and dead. This was one reason wealthy people founded leper houses, since the inhabitants of the houses would be expected to pray for the founders’ souls. Francis, once he had recovered from his initial fear, came to love lepers and in fact started to live among them with his early followers, as a special way to be closer to God.

His origin comic shows that Leper wasn't looked down upon due to his condition, and it makes sense for him to not have any love for a guy who can transform into a demon (for all he know, it could be a demon who can transform into a man.)

Well if you really dislike being able to bring heroes on lower level quests you can change that in the game files.

> Isnt it too easy? Is it considered a mistake to play on it?
Not really, the biggest changes are all related to speeding up the pace of the game, the core gameplay remains intact. It does things like increasing loot and leveling rates to curb out some of the grind in the game, in fact it also allows you to take Lvl3-4 heroes on lower level quests if I'm not mistaken.

Radiant mode gets rid of this restriction if I'm correct. I don't think it's significantly easier in most aspects, just speeds the game up because it takes quite a lot of time and grinding to finish in on normal. The restriction you mentioned was never really an issue for me though. You can still send your stronger dudes on higher levels quest and it encourages building a bigger and more varied roster. Also lvl 4 or 5 characters would completely obliterate lvl 2 bosses, which would severely cripple game's balance.
>>
>>168036031
high lvl heroes can mkae low lvl stuff trivial, hence boring, but you can textedit a file to remove that restriction if it bothers you.

For first time? run radiant, it show you what enemies can do and when you inevitably fuck up/get fucked up, you can recover much faster.
>>
>>168036031
In Radiant mode you can take characters up to level 4 in Easy dungeons and you can take anyone in Vet and Champ dungeons. So yes if that restriction bothered you then Radiant should be perfect for your tastes. Also no it's not considered a mistake to play on it, why would it be? The mode was designed for people who wanted the game faster and it has setting options for people who didn't like other features, more options is a good thing.

Shrieker is really tough, with high dodge, speed, and resistances. Along with both high health damage and stress damage attacks and being able to make 3 actions every turn, you've got yourself one relentless boss.

As for trinkets, it steals 8 random ones from your stash.
>>
>>168037924
Are you sure it always steals trinkets? I had the Shireker event and as far as I could tell none of my trinkets were stolen (at least as far as I could tell), I had to skip it because the game decided to throw the event at me when I only had one hero at Lvl 5

>>168043354
I don't believe they're out of tone at all, the art style fits right into the game. If you're refering to how the skins have a bunch of skin showing instead of being practical armors, then sure I can grant you that regarding the Arbalest, but the PD, Helion, Antiquarian and Occultist have no qualms with wearing clothing that offer no protection at all. If you're refering to the skins being a bit more sexualized, then sure I also agree, but the game has a brothel, sex related quirks and a boss that relies in her charm, so sexuality isn't exactly removed from this game.

The Arbalest skin also has a skin variant without the armour gap in the middle so you can always roll with that.

I can see your point, but the sexuality in this game, though present as you say, the heroes themselves don't take it with them on their questing. They're just wearing the regular, everyday outfit of their profession. Occultists, antiquarians, and PDs don't wear armour because they're not in the habit of getting attacked, and Hellion doesn't give a fuck. Adding the sexual elements to their clothes completely shifts their characters and really doesn't make sense. This is still medieval/early modern times in the setting, right? Based on the weaponry and such, though it is a bit all over the place. No way would a woman be able to go around like that PD does. Plus, it just looks silly. A hood and shoulderpads, but nothing on the torso? I mean, cloth layers aren't much, but it's better protection than nothing.

Especially the Arbalest - she's dressed in plate armour, but decides to cut a hole to show off her cleavage, in what's one of the most vital spots to protect? It's absurd, and they go against the practical and real (if extremely dark) tone of the game.

I dunno though, I don't mean to persuade you to not use them or anything. I'm just interested as to why you would, when the tone is like the best thing about this game and those mods counteract it.

I wish we could become just as fucked up as teh ancestor, like experimenting on heroes to make them stronger with delayed consequences (like them defecting or suiciding in the middle of a battle,or at shambler when they had enough), sacrifcing townfolk for immediate rewards (slavelabor speeds up construction), "hiring" help from the dungeon areas to help in others (like offering 100 townfolk to the necromancer and getting 4 lvl6 fully equipped skellies for the next dungeon, or get a dead hero bought back to unlife), or sacraficing a hihglvl hero to the swinefolk (bonus points for female ones) to increase the hamlets productivity for the week as the swinefolk help out around the shops (and eat a few of your townsman, but you have a village full of it, right?), spread hag aids in the hamlet for mushroom immunity in the weald, but later it triggers a vvulf style cleanup, and finaly: a chance to resurrect team up with the ancestor and finaly crack that egg.

>when the tone is like the best thing about this game and those mods counteract it.

The important part about that though is that once you play with the skins they don't ruin the tone at all, I don't even notice the sexuality attached to the skins because if I wanted sexuality I'd go do something else. As long as the skins maintain the design integrity of the heroes and don't ruin the colour scheme or art style of the game then I'm cool with it. I only really have them because
>I like new skins
>I don't like having the same skins over several heroes so I just use every variant I can
>I like how they look
>my penis said so

It's worth noting by the way, that different cultures throughout history had no qualms with sacrificing protection in the name of culture, many Celt warriors went into the battlefield naked or lacking pieces of clothing for example. I just go with "heh it's probably fine to look like this in her culture" whenever I look at my PD being hit in her bare skin with zero protection.

>PD, Helion, Antiquarian and Occultist have no qualms with wearing clothing that offer no protection at all.

there is a difference between only wearing cloth and fur because you are chilling in the back ranks and being half naked. They are at the very least dressed enough to withstand the elements.

>but the game has a brothel, sex related quirks and a boss that relies in her charm, so sexuality isn't exactly removed from this game.

all those things make sense and have their respective place in the in game world. but dressing up like a goth stripper while on a quest to fight a fucking bird monster makes no sense at all. Like, I'm not some prude that despises sexuality in every way and wants it removed from the game, but it has to make sense in the context. Like, if someone made a mod where you can fuck while camping for stress relieve I would be okay with it, but cutting a part of your armor out to show boob is just nonsensical. The only reason is it exists is because it's eye candy. You can't argue against that.

Yes and I like it. However as mentioned above it's not out of the ordinary for soldiers to fight in impractical ways for the name of culture or even because of the rule of cool, so it does't really bother me in any way.

If that's the case, then which ones are decent? I just found out they existed and I don't wanna comb through that fucking huge list.
>>
Just how important is getting rid of negative quirks or reinforcing positive ones? It feels extremely expensive.

Locking positive quirks only really matters with stuff like SPD, ACC and CRT, the rest is up to you but try not to over specialize a hero too much. As for negative quirks, it's a good idea to stamp out shit like Kleptomaniac, curious and the likes, the rest is also up to you and your willingness to fix some of the flaws through trinkets.

Since the new patch and its impact on the economy I've been having a super easy time locking and removing quirks every other week and still having cash for upgrades.
>>
>>168055810
Unless a quirk is really hurting the character it's not really worth removing it, i just do that before heading to Darkest Dungeon because I want them to be as strong as possible when they go there. Otherwise I usually just wait for free sanitarium event and remove ones that need it most then.
>>
>>168055735
Did you even look at some of them? They are almost all absolutely broken. And if your goal is to just pick the best of the backer heroes simpy because they are good, it absolutely is cheating.
>>
>>168056719
>>168056101
Ok, thanks guys. I'll only remove the really shitty ones then.
>>
>>168055735
Dude, just CTRL+F in the pedia the quirk that you desire (if you don't know which are good, git gud), then buy all else for the hero.

I'm surprised it doesn't do much damage by itself, but those buffs on the tentacles are pretty nasty. Thanks to the powerful virtue on the doctor, a free 15% damage buff on the whole party helped mow the tentacles while blight eroded the shambler.

I was doing the veteran Crew. The add was getting its health topped each time it used the Heave to! skill. No healing or anything, it just got its health topped and if I failed to kill him in one round, I had to hit him all over again.

I doubt that's intended.

good job my dude, you put the pieces together on how ancestor is probably one of the most stupidest people around driven by mere boredom
>>
>>168064469
He explains his motivation in the intro to the game.
His life of leisure and hedonism didn't provide him any fulfilment, and when people get bored they do stupid things.
Only difference is he had the money and power and drive to do something so stupid that it ruined him, the manor, and everything for miles around.

Next time I'm bored I'll fuse with an entropic, otherworldly entity[/spoiler] and lure my next of kin to my estate so he can feed the beast souls, then when he's exhausted I'll lock the door and throw away the key as I'm devoured by Yog-Sothoth so my senpai-a-lam can become the new skin for Nyarlathotep

So considering the recent patch and the developers mentioning there will be another balance patch related to trinkets, and maybe some surprise new content, before the DLC, how do you think the DLC will be?

I'm hopeful that it will be packed to the brim with content but I'm afraid all this recent content will set up high expectations that won't be met for some people.
>>
>>168065767
Well yeah if you've got the money for it.
The expansion for this game is pretty close in title to The Aristocrats.
>>
>>168065768
How bad do you think moon ring will get nerfed?
>>
>>168065768
I have trust in them, I just hope it won't be too expensive, although this is probably the only /v/ article in years which I will buy regardless of price.

I would just like them to confirm how exactly the DLC content will work, will it be a separate min-campaign, an additional content to normal one or what. I just don't know if I should finish the game before it comes out.
>>
>>168065768
Better mod support will also be before Crimson Court.
