This is the very first step you gotta do when coloring. It appears, looking at all your works, that your light just hits in every direction.

Your local details are amazing, but your overall harmony is simply nonexistent because you don't take it into account.

All you need to do is establish where the light hits and group the tones in those two big families. And then you can go crazy with your beautiful details.

This is what will make your figures feel like they have volume.
All you added is some nonsensical very soft blues that further neutralize any understanding of light.

How is it possible that both her hips, stomach, top and middle height of the breasts all have the same tone? Are there 10 lights that magically merge with the same intensity across a complex surface to miraculously hit different planes with the same result?

If you look at my animu picture, you will notice that light hits from the front, and every plane that is not being hit straight is considerably darker. Light only moves in a straight stream. It does bounce but the effect is much lessened.

Notice how the stomach and front of the breasts are two big CHUNKS of different general values, instead of going back and foth in nooks, crannies and contours with the same meshed values. It's because one area is directly hit by light and the other isn't. They cannot physically share the same values. They are separated from step 1.

You know what shares the same values? A flat surface. Light will hit it with exactly the same angle, and that is the only thing that can behave like that.

tl;dr Your big/general shapes are completely flat and unaccounted for and you just jump into shading details like cloth seams or little skin bumps. Go simple first, then complex.

Drawing at a larger scale helps. Illustrator has a "Simplify" command which makes your Pen tool strokes a lot more gracefuly. IRL you might use a ship's curve or a combination of French curves to get those perfect lines.

Alright I never did those things so it may be awful on many levels, so I'll give a tl;dr for shit to look up on the web:

- Think/practice about simple planes and how light hits them
- Define what's hit by light and what isn't first and foremost
- Mind the cast shadows
- Refine smaller bumps within light area and shadow area using the knowledge from the form studies
- Add final highlights (I forgot to add this in the image)

Also there are general coloring tricks:
-cheat a little by making your area of focus a little brighter than your established value hierarchy so people look at it more
-likewise obfuscate unimportant things with enhanced fog (think how mountains get bluer the more distant they are, you can see it on the ponytail), all of it to guide the viewer to a smaller focus area; if the drawing is equally detailed, nothing will appear to be!
-If you want a lot of light intensity in one spot, make everything else a little darker and lower contrast. Light intensity is given by contrast not by using very light colors everywhere necessarily.
-In general, things closer to the viewer have more contrast (more value range from light to dark), and things further back have less contrast. Value information is what draws your attention the most, your brain is attracted to it to decipher the value relationships and understand the forms. So have your focus have the most values.
-In outdoor scenes, things further back are almost always lighter than things closer, even during night, because more air gets in front of you and it obfuscates the shit.

Aside from:
-Have opacity in the 70-95 range for the final inking as a guideline; generally 100% opacity is limiting and lower than 70% gets things out of focus needlessly
-Limit yourself to hard edged brushes for the beginning, however do have some anti-aliasing in there, do not make it entirely hard or it'll have pixelation. Try to avoid the airbrushed look when shading, it will prevent you from learning about planes, so stick with hard brushes to lay down the color spots then smoothen the edges out later on where it's needed.
-Have pen pressure on and set it so you have the entire pressure sensitivity range from your tablet.
-Having entire and natural control over one simple brush regarding all you can do with pressure and flicks etc is a thousand times better than overusing a ton of different brushes non optimally. Consistency and harmony will transpire over an artificial look.

Everything else is entirely up to how you draw things, the programs, and whatnot. But the above is GENERALLY universal advice.

Finally: brushes do not matter. Get 100% consistent with a simple-shaped hard brush then look into shapes/textures/effects later on. The only brushes you truly need are one hard brush (any non-retarded shape) and one soft round. I mean I don't use any special effects and all my issues are just fundamentals, not program-related. I still got a ton of work to do before I start to worry about the brush settings.

i'd say some lineweight can be arbitrary
try thinking about how deep the edges are everywhere and adjust the line intensity accordingly

it feels like you're forcibly trying to be too neat and precise at the expense of it looking like a man made drawing, get more line variation in there, it has that artificial look that can be off-putting a bit; try going a bit wilder and rougher, don't be afraid to miss one pixel, it can be detrimental in the end

i'd also comment on looking at how highlights work, they are inconsistent assuming the same light source and following the shapes, especially the pussy and ass is inconsistent, almost opposite, to the highlights of the top of the body

add at least one more tone to your hair, increase the value range; you need to think about each material and how much light they reflect; for example, hair is extremely reflective, yet your restricted value makes it look like it's less reflective than the skin, which ultimately gives the viewer the information that she's wearing spaghetti instead of hair
memorize a generic value range that will be the rough spectrum of values you are going to use, that will make everything easier as far as knowing how to tackle each basic material

remember that when shading, a round big object will have a ton of values because the object wraps back in space and so it catches some of the light from all the way back. so of course it is bound to have much more tone information than, say, the stomach. the ass is giving a flat look because it appears to have less value variation than the stomach, which is counter-intuitive
tone needs to be part of a hierarchy; you can get away with however many tones you want, BUT they need to be coherent with each other and respect their relationship.

i'd try to emphasize volumes more, they feel like they are lost especially in the legs; the human body is not actually 100% round. adding faint tone shifts will make the drawing look 100 times more believable
