Hatsukoi 1/1 Update #4

Hey there, another week another update.

Unfortunately, Trip is/was busy this weekend, so we didn't make all the progress we wanted. Nevertheless, we have made some significant progress from last week.

And this is my opinion so far about this route, I'll just spoil it in case you don't want to know just yes.

We decided to do this route first because we (Trip and I) both kinda disliked Midori at first. Due to some reasons she is pretty apprehensive of the MC, which ruined her character a bit. Luckily she 'healed' fast.

Now they're dating roughly one month after the start of the VN, and the next scene we'll translate is the first H-scene of this route, which happened really fast in my opinion. No clue if the other routes move as fast, we'll just have to wait to find out

How come nobody makes fully animated Visual Novels? The erogos games did this who knows when, but I haven't seen any other game approach this idea seriously.

What happens in practice is you get something like School Days, where it starts off ambitious and smooth, and by halfway through when the routes have really started branching, the animation is a complete mess of still frames, repeated motions, camera angles that miss the characters, and every other budget-saving technique in the book.

the only videos are the op and the credits. the credit sequences are different for each of the girls and it plays a nice song with a slideshow of their CGs. They end off the routes very well and I personally wouldn't want to miss them. Especially for sachi's route.

With regards to how VNs are just being plain the same old shit, pretty much need to first stop treating the consumer as a braindead boner-crazed idiot and actually make a story worth a damn, and secondly stop treating everybody as moebabbies. This is coming from a moeshitter. I'd rather have some VNs where my hand isn't held, thank you. I've been looking at the recent releases in the last year and its pretty much rehash central, hoping that this new iteration of a beaten-to-death story is worth a damn.

The only other thing which is why I'm extremely thankful to the Hatsukoi 1/1 team is the regular, constant updates and notices. If most of the TL teams took fifteen minutes to pop in and say hello to anybody who's still following once a week it'd be an extremely positive turn to keeping folks onboard. Progress be damned, just knowing its not dead is enough for many.

I myself don't read the H-Scenes I cannot stand the sound of moaning at all anymore because all of it sounds forced. It either has to be a REALLY fucking good scene and I drop head over heels for the character read: probably a kuudere for me to even attempt. but that doesn't mean that someone should be deprived of it.
