What ever happened with the Bloodborne board game or other related spin-offs?

Just beat the game for the first time tonight, I didn't like the ending so I played through NG+ as well. Damn that was exhausting.

Anyway I played through the game blind with the exception of looking at a spoiler free guide to find all the areas since so much of the game is optional.
Thought I'd share my boss rankings and you veterans can tell me how wrong I am.

Anyway, always curious seeing other people's ratings of bosses and how wildly different they can be. I never had problems with Paarl no matter what level I was fighting him, and Amelia I think only managed to kill me once across all playthroughs. But Laurence was fucking hell.

Ludwig isn't bullshit hard though, he's so finely tuned and each of his attacks has a specific intent.
I see him as the epitome of Soulsborne bosses, I think he dethroned Fume Knight for me.
It's just a shame his second stage is such a step down, rather than a step-up.

I used threaded cane for the entirety of NG and NG+ and its hit box will hit him and then miss entirely and I'll take a tentacle fucking or a call beyond, then probably another when I healed killing me.
It was only during NG+ I discovered that spamming the R2 thrust was reliable, which is how I beat him.

Even so, I can't deny I think I died to him more than anyone else.

I always rank based on my experience, it's unfair to scale down bosses I had trouble with just because they're earlier and I'm not used to the game.
Paarl was my second boss so he whipped my ass, especially considering I was still in a DaS mindset and my conservativeness didn't give me those easy stuns.

I beat him by using him own magic against him. A Call Beyond can reach him when he shuts himself in the second arena. Which makes him start running towards the gate, from there I cheesed that nerd and prayed he doesn't start spamming the instakill star explosion.

Do any of the ponytails not clip through hats / clothing in general?
I like having long hair with my female builds but the clipping is so bad I can't get over it. Like I don't mind if a hat besides the cainhurst helmet / traffic cone can make the pony tail go away, but with the lower tail with the bangs it still clips with most tops.

Anyone have any theories as to why the deep Forbidden Woods/Shadows of Yharnam are snake-themed? A cursory glance at YT showed me only one lore video which focused on the area, and that guy was trying to imply that they were related to Kin because the Kin-specific damage icon kind of looks like a snake. It seems kind of non-sequitur to me to suddenly go from Yharnam's wolf beast theme to this without a boss that acts as a clear influence. You have Rom for the bug dudes at Byrgenwerth and Ebrietas for the Celestial Emissarayys, but the Shadows don't seem to have the same Great One/eldritch status that would imply they influenced the area. I feel like the spider/maggot enemies would have been a lot more suitable there, as a gradual build-up to Rom.

And on a similar note, why are there spiders in the Nightmare of Mensis? Was Micolash just really spooked by bugs? I can't help but notice the human-headed ones above the building across the mid-level bridge, do you think they have any relation to Patches?

The flamesprayer does stagger enemies, I've stunlocked Bloodstarved Beast and Ludwig's second phase several times just standing there holding L2. Can't parry with anything of them, but you can stunlock with rhe flamesprayer and it does disgusting damage if you have it at +10 with good Arc. It's absolutely disgusting.

So pic related is my current build been using the beast hunters saif all playthrough and was planning on using the rayukyo and maybe the holy moonlight sword and Chikage. My question to you all is should I even put any points into bloodtinge for the Chikage or will be lackluster at base bldtnge and also when should I stop leveling arc this build was supposed to be skill arc orientated for the beast hunters said would like to stick to that idea

All in one build? There's just no way, without jumping into a high BL. You're best keeping Saif and Rakuyo to one build, and Chikage and HLMS to their own. You can settle with untricked Chikage for the skill scaling, but it's lackluster, and most use it for the BLT tricked mode.

There are no good weapons that scale with Skill and Arc simultaneously, despite what the BB and BoM may lead people to believe.
But, if you're referring to a Skill weapon you want to convert into Arc using gems, Saif, Saw Spear, Threaded Cane all work great. You can convert just about anything though, so long as it deals physical damage and physical damage alone.

Go ahead and take it for a standard Str setup, 50 Str with 25 Skl. If you're looking to use it almost exclusively, the Beast's Embrace oath goes without saying. It will probably need to be the receiver of the best gems you can get, but it's a very fun weapon to use, mostly in the absurdity of it.

If you want. You'll need to visit the Nightmare Frontier and kill Amygdala at the very least before you can access Ailing Loran, though.
Getting the Beast Claw isn't so bad, but Beast's Embrace will be a lot tougher. You can summon people for Laurence, at least.

After killing Amelia, immediately activate lamps to the Nightmare Frontier and the Hunter's Nightmare. Join the League (easier time in Hunter's Nightmare), and run through the Frontier (one of the shorter areas if you don't get lost). Get the Loran chalice along with the materials you need from dungeons, and rush to it. Take the Claws into the Hunter's Nightmare and stomp Ludwig with Valtr (he's incredibly useful for the fight). Get Laurence's Skull and fight Laurence, netting you the Beast's Embrace rune. You'll need to run Hemwick beforehand for the Workshop Tool, of course. After getting everything you need, you can visit the other places you haven't been.

Borne, with an e, means carried. For instance, borne on a current would mean carried on a current.

The usage of borne and born are very intentional. Born means what you think it means, to be born, existing as a result of birth. The words can potentially have overlapping similarities due to the nature of the game's themes about disease, sickness and pregnancy, but they are different words.

So i guess I'm doing it wrong but..
My +10 HMLS is doing something like 300+ damage on Loran Chalice,

You'll need better gems, HMS shines with the best Nourishings and there aren't that many in the main game. Plus almost everything in Loran is Beasts, and they take extra damage from serrated weapons like the Saw Cleaver.

Decent, but Rifle Spear and Reiter are skill weapons, only the bullets are blt.
Rifle Spear also has a pretty awful moveset, although the bullets do good damage on blt builds.
You should consider adding Bloodletter.

Mine does over 1000 damage per hit untricked just spamming r2 over and over. It's got two 19.3% nourishings and a 21.5% abyssal nourishing. If you are fighting tough beast bosses like Hot Dog, HBLB, Laurence or Abhorrent Beast, you can swap out the nourishing gems for beasthunter gems (which are like having 27-32% nourishings). HMS is the best boss killer for this reason.

Also you can do a double backstab with it untricked, where the second hit after the charged r2 does like triple damage and sends them flying if it's not making them stagger.

Lost you can get two 21.5% nourishings, while radials only go up to 19.5%. All of said gems are a supreme pain in the ass to farm off amygdala/rom, but you can get 19.3% radials from gargoyles in cursed depth 5 dungeons. You can farm a bunch of those very easily, and get two good ones with the open foes secondary effect. Open foes turns high damage weapons into monsters on the counter hits. The damage goes up from the normal 1550 to 2160 when you jump-beam attack a merciless watcher right after he finishes his attack w/ these gems

my first playthrough of BB feels like its nearing the end, so making my way through the DLC now (which is really, really good.)

i love this game, moreso than any other souls-type game. ive never done NG+ in one of these games before-- do you just 'restart' the game again, but with a 'higher' difficulty (just buffed HP?) and w/ your stats/weps intact?

also, is there anything else worthwhile to spend your echoes on? im lvl. 101 or something rn, and by the time i actually finish up all the content im sure that I'll have enough to hit the max level i wanna be at... so what would i spend my souls on during the entirety of NG+ on?

NG+ is less about the enemies and more about the bosses. The bosses slowly lose the exploitable weaknesses respective to them, for example Cleric will become less weak to fire, Blue goober prime will become less weak to bolt and thrust etcetc

Also get Blood Vials, unless you are very familiar with BB combat and can change styles on a whim, the final DLC main boss will push your shit in. No weaknesses either. After you finish levelling, there is little more to do other than to religiously max out every item in the shop, bar BV's and QS's

Be sure to savescum

You have a limited number of chances to do dungeons when you have to use up ritual materials to make your own every time. Shit like red jelly is hard to come by. Glyphs you can just join for free, on ps+.

You can backup your save to USB before you make the dungeon, copy the save folder to your PC, and then continue to use the USB drive for savescumming your dungeon's bosses. If you didn't find anything you wanted, you can copy back + load the oldest save and make a new, different dungeon without losing your materials.

Lighthouse Hut in the DLC, farm the Fish Wizards for 20.3% Bolt Radials and a Bolt Waning near the Rock. Not really early but it's the best Bolts in the main game. 18% Arc Droplet and a 15% Nourishing Radial in Mergo's Loft.

Kill Hotdog twice for two ~10% Fire radials, and use the ~7% Fire waning from CW. That should hold you down until you can kill Amygdala in the main game, then Ailing Loran is where you'll get good Bolt and Fire gems.
