So there's this generic mission to kill a griffin, it says it's in Hill Figure Knoll, but the map points to that bandits' stronghold in the south. I actually find that giant chicken in the NW outskirts of Gran Soren, the pastures, by chance.

I fight it, grab her rear and stick my daggers in her while flying, what a ride, I thought. I'm almost done but I run out of fish and I drop, low on stamina.

The fucker runs away, I still give some chase but she disappears in the sky.

What could I have done? Also, why can't my sorcerer reliably enchant my weapons?

Yep, these are the 3 places in which you can find the Grifbullies.

It's a fight in which fire is essential to not make it fly, so Scalding Razor or some blast arrows or dragon's spit and such. Using too much fire makes the fight too easy, so try to not abuse it.
For stamina, large mushrooms, fishes suck. Or, even better one liquid vim. You should always have some large mushrooms and 1 liquid vim with you.

Alright, I'm finding the control bindings in the options a little... lacking. Specifically, it doesn't seem like you can change which keys control menus (it's always WASD, even though I've set movement to ESDF) and the fire arrow key always remains F even if you rebind grapple to something else.

No, feel free to check it out whenever you feel comfortable with your current vocation and gear. You WILL get raped every time something big shows up though, that's an integral part of the low level Bitterbutt experience.

Mages, Sorcerers, Warriors, Fighters. In that order. Mostly because both my Arisen and pawn are Striders.

Mage - Comestion, Grapnel, no more than two weapon buffs. The rest is whatever.
For Fighters, the less shield skills you have, the more active your pawn will be.
For Sorcs and Warriors, anything goes. I've even seen pawns that manage to Arc fools somewhat successfully.
Striders are kinda complicated. You want Skullsplitter, but you'll need to figure out the rest yourself.
Rangers are bitches and whores.

As I thought. I find my self looking for High Anodyne and Malidom on Mage and the rest whatever I need. Mostly.

I've got a 200 Mage Pawn, is it worth Upgrading Anodyne? I've heard that High Anodyne is not that much of an upgrade since it takes longer to cast for very little healing speed.

Turns out I was grossly overlevelled and overequipped for Daimon. After inflicting Torpor with my Gold Dragonforged Rusted Bow, I just climbed on his head and Dire Gouged him for a minute until he died.

It's nice for avoiding dragon grabs and that's it pretty much.
Anything worth avoiding with Divine Defense is also avoided by using Tenacity, Egression and 100% Possession resist. Which are all pretty fantastic anyways. Egression isn't even that necessary if you've got enough stagger/kd

I don't think so. The problem is that you can meet her again only after meeting the duke, but meeting the duke means the end of every escort quest that appeared on the board before the meeting.
On the wiki there is also written to give her wine, rest, and see if it reappers on the board. I tried (after giving her 5 bottles of wine), but nothing happened.

Using offline mode to get "The captain" achievement or whatever it was called. The horrors I've seen, when this game's servers die out eventually we're in for a nightmare. Guardian acquisitors everywhere.

Swords are more damaging. Daggers have a quicker, more mobile moveset.

The main advantage of Assassins is the ability to gear your sword skills for one situation and your dagger skills for another. Personally I lean more towards swords with Toss/Blink/Gouge.

You know you've done well when a cursed dragon possesses your pawn without you even noticing and before you realize what's going on and disarm them you're already dead to torpor, poison and a jump-attack splitter

If you want to use your own characters it's a pretty fucking convoluted process. It means you're going to have to use Steam Family Sharing to share the game with another account, start a new game on that account, level it to the level you want, and then hire it on your main.

You make your arisen, which is the guy you control, and then your pawn, which is another guy (or gal) that you create as well. The last two slots can be filled by someone else's pawn.

The game "refreshes" the two online pawns you can hire only when you release them, it's meant to encourage you to try out different things and compositions, you can of course mark pawns you liked as favourites and if they're played actively on the other players end, hire them later at the stage they will be at, sure that can be a little clumsy if you want to play with the exact same party the whole way through but that'd be missing a big part of the experience, a lot of the fun in DD comes from those cutesy synergies and overall changes in combat that you can get from hiring different classes of pawns with different inclinations

Your pawn doesn't leave. A million people can hire your pawn at the same time, see it as them taking a copy. Your pawn can gain knowledge from being hired.
Quest knowledge, enemy knowledge, strategies, and can be equipped with gear and be sent back with a gift by the person that hired him/her. You also get a currency known as Rift Crystals based on how much xp the other player gained with the help of your pawn (your pawn doesn't gain any of that xp though).

You keep him as he is and whenever you rest like at an inn or so, it "updates" it in the Rift which is where you hire them, they basically get a copy of your most recent save of your pawn and when they come back you get rift crystals based on how many enemies your pawn killed with the other player, but more importantly the pawn gains knowledge on quests and enemies which can effect your game in a cool way where someone might be much further ahead in the game while playing with your pawn and when he returns he can call out enemy weaknesses, special strategies and give tips and directions on quests
