I really don't like the game anymore since it has become too easy. Its too easy on standard, the game just offers no real challenge. On hardcore one stupid mechanic can kill you in endgame maps or something really out of the blue that no build would possibly survive.

Kaom's Primacy is fine for a long time Disfavour is just nice to have.

It's pretty shitty that in this game the only viable life build is 2h earthquake. Shields are not even viable anymore because you sacrifice so much damage, so its hard to get decent damage while getting all life nodes.

For the most part it looks fine. Here's mine: poeurl.com/YyI. My tree uses more points, this was my 94 ST raider that ripped to shaper (first ever attempt and fucked up on mechanics). Guardians were easy as fuck though.

I opted to not get the frenzy charge at duelist area, jewel sockets/ES nodes were more important to me. I recommend taking the path that I took to elemental overload, it's more point efficient and allows you to get arcane focus which is more ES than unnatural calm, and lets you get Deep Wisdom and the witch start which is what I was spending my 93+ points on. Another difference is I got Trickery and Void Barrier, but I was a level 94 tree and obviously I'm gonna have more stuff than your tree.

you already have like 1k base damage, 2-24 is adding 2% on top whereas getting 40% damage and 4% attack speed when you most likely have 200-225% total is 15% or so more damage. You could also just spec a node and see how much dps you get compared to getting 10 int and decide whether the investment is worth it.

Is there a better way to make currency than running maps? I'm running a Ngamahu's Flame MF'er and I can do 10 maps in around 30 mins, less if I only run amps with good layouts, but I still only make only 0.5-1.5 exalts an hour.

I'm running Volley Fire Barrage with Doomfletch's Prism. Originally I chose Pathfinder for Veteran Bowyer's elemental pen and muh flasks.

That means I have to choose between Master Surgeon and Alchemist for the remaining points. They both look really good, though not having played PF before I'm not sure how effective Surgeon is.

Surgeon is a joke now. Even if it weren't, Alchemist is way too good. It basically removes the need to have 2 non-unique non-adrenaline flasks vs the bleed from surgeon, which doesn't even give you immunity, just removes it on use.

Alchemist basically allows you to run a quicksilver of adrenaline + whatever flask of bleed + 3 unique ones

Relatively new player here, just hit 80 in BHC using a WoE BoR cyclone slayer. Saw a guide talking about how it was a decent budget league starter, and since it's my first character I figured it made sense.

While I'm not certain how much the 38% block is doing for me, considering I basically never have any endurance charges active (granted it's only 20% chance on block with BoR but still) I'm going to assume not a whole lot. I'm at 35k tooltip cyclone DPS without conc effect, and I'm looking to upgrade to a more offensive weapon. I have about 200c right now; should I buy ngamahu/xoph's heart, a random 500+ pdps rare, or save up for disfavour?

38% block seems pretty weak for a BoR WoE build. Depending on your tree you could switch to ngamahu but you'll probably miss the defence you get from BoR. Ngamahu is easy to axe yourself to elemental reflect.

Surrender: 250 life on block, ~2500 armour, free reckoning CoH setup

Aegis: 2% es on block; ~400 armour, ~100 ES, +5% max cold res

To beat Surrender, Aegis needs at least 12500 armour, and without a decent buffer (at least ~1k ES), it's kinda useless so there's more pressure on gear pieces

I still think Aegis is better, but you need to build around it, while Surrender is generically good for any life Gladiator

Surrender provides basically all the armor you need. Other than an Anvil, it's my only source of Armor, and I hit 70-some% mitigation before endurance charges or flasks (with Determination), which get me to 90% and then some. And that's with minimal tree investment beyond the shield nodes to get to 78% block (technically 67% since 3% comes from Tempest Shield, and 8% comes from Painforged). A respectable amount of life and free level 30 Reckoning make it an all around solid piece.

Consider also that you get the free healing equivalent of an Aegis with 12500 armor. Sure, Aegis can heal more if you keep stacking armor. But that's going to mean less ES stacking. And other than Death's Door and Malachai's Vision, there aren't a huge number of good AR/ES uniques that provide decent defense values.

With Surrender, I'm free to just stack life and evasion on my other slots. So I run The Perfect Form, Alpha's Howl, and some assorted rares. With Grace, my evasion is around 60%, and a flask bumps it into the 70's. Coupled with free Phase Acrobatics and Arctic Armor, it's pretty rare I take any appreciable damage other than the occasional bullshit Volatile that sneaks through.

The current Energy Shield Uber Alles meta says Aegis "should" be better, but Surrender is still very excellent. Admittedly, it doesn't solve the problem life builds have where they're immortal until they get one-shotted, and stacking enough life to not get one-shotted is far more challenging than doing the same with ES. Nor does it solve the underlying itemization problem where a Kaom's Heart is 1 - 2 Exalts, whereas a 500 ES body piece with other actual mods (and sockets!) on it is a few chaos at most.

The REAL reason why GGG doesnt ""fix"" life is simply because the game engine doesn't support it.

ES builds are much easier on the game engine and servers because you only need to move pixers that take about 1/3 of the health globe and like half of those are transparent

LIFE builds need to move pixels around the entire globe

SO they NEED to encourage as many people as possible to use ES instead to save computing and bandwidth resources
