Thanks for reading it anon, that's all I was really hoping for. It wasn't really supposed to be a promise but some guy asked if I was going to translate the whole game and that was a fuck no, but I said I'd give them the UI when I finished. Asking for help is what got me in trouble there. I honestly didn't foresee how obnoxious that UI would be to fix. Everything was misaligned already, so as I was translating I was also fixing that, which meant I had to realign every other line with the ones I change in other files. None of the files are organized either, so one part of the menu is in one file and then another part of the same section is in another. It was just no fun.

This is one of the big downsides of open contribution games. Everybody gets scared of stepping on other people's toes, and breaking the spaghetti code that progress grinds to a halt. Without someone enforcing follow through on "I'm going to do X" statements and keeping up the development documents interest gets lost.

I kind of want them to switch to a version control system, but that would require some leadership.

Does anybody remember a 2d h-game similar to unholy sanctuary wherein you play a shire--maiden type character?
There was a nice world overmap a la super mario world, and I remember the optional ending boss was a big robot thing I couldn't beat for the life of me.

Just tried to apply current translation progress to 1.35 patch:

The thing I noticed is that while in spreadsheet script progress is at 95% actual amount of translated text after patching is ~85%. The reason is that I use simple text matching to replace japanese strings with translated ones. But there were numerous updates since translation started. Author fixed few typos or just simply rephrased some of the lines and it will take some time to find them all. Also he added few additional events. So don't expect fully translated game when progress reaches 100% in spreadsheet.

I wrote a thing to get differences between script versions and update the sheet, but the translator wanted a scene transition indicator so I had to change how I messed with the script. Then the way names were handled in the game was changed.

It hasn't been updated yet because I have to rewrite that now and I didn't want to mess with updating it every day at the old rate of patches. I'll get it fixed sometime today.

Choose your patches wisely, there are several ways to the latest v1.22
It uses the same patching system as Dungeon Town (udm); for those unfamiliar with that you run the patcher in Japanese locale (if you have AppLocale, you can use that or "agth /l patch.exe"), then point it to the game directory, check the checkbox to delete .old backup files on exit.

There's not that many restrictions within the engine itself, but it's aimed at people with little to no knowledge of programming, so the games come out the way they are.
If you have some basic programming knowledge you can actually make something interesting with it. The only real problems are the way that the engine itself is written is kinda messy, so you'll probably lose some time whilst working on some basic stuff, but it's overall easier to work with it if you're a one man team.
