If you have multiples of the same unit, you can knock down the number of battles requires if you have them eat each other:

2 Units - 4750 Battles

The damage boost is a fixed duration, but if you want to increase the haste duration you just need to stack MND on him as best you can. That's probably going to take unique Instruments to do on him, though, and is only really "important" for RW purposes. On your own team you can just have him recast whenever you have meter.

I didn't have Shout or interrupts, so I used Carbuncle and MBlink instead.

That pic is the second time I killed him. The first time, I failed mastery because I forgot to activate the yellow barrier, so I had to fight him again.

Now I just need to finish the magic nightmares.

Am I doing something wrong in Costlemark? I'm stuck and can't trigger any of the elevators in the cube puzzle's main room

The older magic nightmares (aside from Kaiser's RNG) may be a bit more manageable thanks to all the new stuff released.

Sheepsong will be pretty good for Ultima. I needed a bunch of dupe abilities for Evrae. Went the cheap Ninja Tyro & Dreamstage RW route for that 2nd white mage nightmare. Kaiser unfortunately, just had to wait & see what forms he rolled for that fight.

Probably depends on how experienced you are with RPGs in general. 3-D is harder, and the way it rebalances and adds stuff is nearly a different game. It also requires some planning ahead with what abilties to give to people because of the horrible way it gives you extra abilties when someone leaves permanently.

The PSP version is a pretty faithful reproduction of the original. There's nothing too tough about it, but it's not a total cakewalk. It also has some extra areas that weren't in the original or the DS version as postgame stuff. But that might appeal more to those that had already played the original game and wanted some extra stuff after the nostalgia.

If you want a challenge and limited character customization, play 3D.

Personally I really enjoyed the 3D version, but I was already familiar with the original so I enjoyed how it mixed things up without going too crazy.

Yes, but it has some glitches occasionally. I really had to mess with the emulator. I also had a problem where the Spline/Bezier curves quality in the options being set to high caused massive slowdown during some spell effects, but someone with a more powerful PC might not have the same problem.

Music patch for V gives me slow downs but the readme for the music patch says nothing useful besides play it was meant to be played on real hardware. Anyone have this issue and fixed it?

Is the GBA version of FF4 just easier, or just less good?
I've hit several up-curves in difficulty. Especially this final boss that's nearly impossible having the levels I was able to get through the game with.

Should I farm maze right now or should I do some TMR farming in BE? I got everyone who I needed to get grinded up except for Charlotte and Hayate and while Charlotte is great as a 6*, Hayate is mediocre for a 6*.

depends on the skill that applies it. some of them do more than the 20% that imperil does, some of them do the same 20%. sometimes you only need one element of imperil instead of forcing someone else to spend a turn casting imperil. so really, it depends.

I picked up RK on the side, it's not awful. 11 pulls feel pretty nice, but I don't really like how each unit only has two skill slots and then SBs. Feels very limiting. Also I've only chipped away at it since so much of the early content you can literally auto through.

In BE, it was too early for them to give out much, but they had a deal that was 10k lapis for 3 rainbows, an ATK+30% materia, and the best possible weapons at the time (the gold set, which is trash now).
