yes, that quest is present in vanilla too, but vanilla doesn't have such extreme distances so the rewards are rather low, but in ad1256 you can easily get 4-7k gold and 3-4k experience per quest, considering that you do that with just one merc lance, you have no upkeep and huge income

So, I downloaded Gekokunewer from the mega and tried to make a character, but everytime it loads the character creator the game becomes slow as fuck, couldn't even get to play, same shit happened with Warsword, but this time I could play and save, I loaded the save and it was fine, until I went to the tavern and the game froze from loading my character.

I've seen this image hundreds of times but it just made me think of something.

So far we've seen a castle assault and then a town defense. I remember during the stream for the castle video Frank mentioned how after you took the walls you would go into the keep to fight the lord and the troops that fell back inside of it. This makes me wonder about attacking towns. I'm sure that they'll still have fights in the keep for towns if they're still in for castles, but I wonder if we'll have more interesting fights in the town's streets now.

It's great to have the slave trader on hand for quick battle to profit turnaround, and you can ditch it with a small -10 morale penalty if you really need to run away or catch someone. I don't usually have armies above 300 for too long anyway, most of the time you want the majority in a town or camp. I think it's more useful for long expeditions where you take out a big force and conquer two or three castles.

Actually, the skill itself, to a degree, because I've yet to see a mod where it's actually noticeably useful to have on the main character.

Oh, but I don't mean INT builds in general. Those are perfectly fine, in fact, they have the massive advantages you mentioned - no other build can get a solid army going anywhere as fast as full-out 15-18 Int, 5-6 Trainer. On the other hand, however, Engineer is something that is largely relevant later on. Sure, beginning with it at a high level means you don't have to spend points on it, but it also means you didn't have those points in more immediately useful Int-skills, most likely, or hell, even some personal ones - how much these matter varies, but they're still likely to be more relevant early game.

Not to mention, only the highest level Engineering matters, so you can likely hire on a companion with it and have them pump it up by the time you actually have to siege something.

You need to meta game to win and takes forever to get to the point where your warband is unstoppable unlike most mods. Which for me as someone who gets bored once I capture a few towns is great. There's also unique spawns which fuck you up.

Pendor is well-made for sure, but meta gaming in warband isn't much fun. For example, going from city to city to recruit every noble you can find just to have a chance at fighting anything better than bandits is a chore, and your army looks like shit at the end.

Basically was, yeah. There's disclaimers about how it's aimed specifically for experienced players who want a bullshit challenge to overcome basically everywhere, from the feature list to an in-game message.

Metagaming's not my thing either, really, but I can see why some would enjoy the mod equivalent of a nude ride on a sandpaper slide.

And to be perfectly fair, the extent to which the metagaming is necessary is somewhat exaggerated. It does require knowing the game very well, but far as I could tell, you don't need to actively break it over your knee to succeed.

What you do need is knowing what enemies to avoid at all costs, maintaining your overland speed to do so, and saintly patience for when an army of them comes to ram up your ass out of nowhere regardless.

But then you just toss some dudes behind and bail anyway, so not a big deal.

Just loot towns along the fringes of Orc lands, you only need one good haul and you'll have around 11k in decent goods to flog at Karaz-A-Karak, then buy a Weavery and Dyeworks (8.5k and around 1600 a week profit) and wait for the offers of Vassalage to come in.

Pro tip, don't buy businesses in contested areas i.e Grom Peak and Karak Hirn as they change ownership often and if you've pissed someone off you can quickly find 30% of your income sequestrated.

I've found the in this version The Empire seems to be the most stable as with the addition of the Wood Lelves and Kislec there is more of a buffer between Choas and the Skaven.

The overworld can be stuttery as fuck, but normally only when I Ctrl+Space to speed things up. During battles I'm finding it fine, only time it lags is when my line of Dwarf engineers opens up on a cavalry charge of something.

Regarding pendor.

The difficulty is broadly overstated. It's pretty chill really. You can get high lv troops pretty easily as a lot of companions are high lv with good training stats so bandit spawns can be beat fairly easily.

Random bandit armies on other hand will kick your ass. You need to be marshal and call the banners to deal with them.

Back in the day I believe it was a lot harder and I think that pissed off a lot of scrubs.

The meta gaming aspect I like. It feels like how warband was meant to be played.

It's really a very comfy mod. Can someone point out the quality differences between armours. I haven't noticed anything? Armours are being redone for 3.8 anyways.

Now in regards to saxdragons autism. I don't get why people judge the mod and or games based on the creators autism. This is the video game industry there are a lot of autists. The most famous example is Phil Fish. The guy who made fez. Everyone hated him. And cause everyone hated him their hate was transferred onto fez. People couldn't judge fez or talk about fez with there autistic hatered of Phil spilling over. It's the same with pendor. Saxedragon is not liked in this general so pendor isn't liked. It's bullshit. Cozier is ten times worse. That cunt ruined his own mod with you trip and fall bull shit and removes to remove that or the random malis events.

That's how it worked irl, senpai. Polearms were ever the main weapons in medieval warfare. Yes, even for samurai and knights. Swords and axes were more of a back up weapon for when your spear got broken, or for very short distances. Also, the development of heavy plate armor mixed things up a bit with specialized weaponry and tactics to counter it.

Cavalry was used to counter other cavalry, as a tactical reserve, as scouts and raiders on the march, and to attack from the flank.

Battles, as sparse and far between as they really were, were won with infantry. Don't even get me started on sieges. Deal with it.

Depends on the faction and how much you meta. I found that gunlines coupled with assloads of veteran halberdiers are pretty OK against Chaos. But I did solo daemon patrols (50 units) by using a horse and a greatsword with 140 reach.

Also I was mainly boasting because the Empire is actually pretty hard as starts go in Warsword, because while Chaos for some reason always loses auto resolve in the world map and will get BTFO by Kislev, Chaos fucking OWNS the field and is essentially unstoppable. If you get 100 Chaos Knights/Khorne Knights/Chosen, you will kill ANYTHING as Chaos. I once had a Chaos character with 160 Chaos Cav, and I fucking annihilated the entire total assembled Kislev army. They just smash into shit like a semi truck and leave nothing alive. The entire game turns into like when a cavalry unit rams into the flank of an infantry unit without shields in Medieval 2 stainless steel mod. They're just GONE.

Now, once you've fought that, an army where one unit can be as good as ten or more of yours? And you beat them? Then you know you're fuckin baller.
