The time of the poles may finally be over, I have had them beat up Denmark for me in 3 wars, and now after this screen shot they have cancelled our alliance and entered into internal conflicts. They hate me now because they want one of my provinces. The stinky poles must be removed, what should my border goals be? I formed Kurland from Riga by the way, so I am Prussian culture, though i don't want to form germany, I want to be like another austria, but to the east.

What would be causing this differential? I have 2/3 vassals imprisoned so I assume that limits my numbers, but even vassals with 100 opinion only give about 10-20% of their levies. How would I go about increasing this?

Build more buildings in the provinces you directly control to get more troops you directly control. To get more vassal troops, treat them better. If you don't know why they don't like you, mouse over the number that represents their opinion. Imprisoning them is definitely not a good idea.

What I usually do after crushing a revolt is ransom the ones worth money, release the ones who aren't but have a good opinion of me, and if there are ones that are too powerful and hateful to release then I put them in the oubliette and hope they die quickly. Releasing some gives the rest of your vassals a positive opinion modifier.

In Paradox games I almost exclusively play countries that don't exist in the modern day. Byzantium, Granada, Burgundy, Brittany, and so on. Or go full off the rails ahistorical, like as England focus entirely on reforming the Angevin Empire and not colonize at all, or play tall as Austria and not touch Hungary.

You may have your laws shitty, pass laws upping the amount of levy from feudal or city vassals. If you're a king, raise the crown authority, but know if it gets to medium you will likely be spammed with factions to lower it.

You could also have too many vassals (not in your situation, but later on down the road) which will severely lessen the amount of money they give you, and the amount of levy.

Also if your guys hate you, they will only give you minimum levy.

For your second question it is hard to say without knowing what country you are. A shittily managed Ireland can probably only get 2k guys, but a well managed smaller nation could get 6k, basically your guys are always going to be assholes and rebel. The main counter is having the leaders killed so their kids take over or bribing, this coupled with using your spymaster to get them out of factions can usually stop factions from causing civil war, unless you're Byzantium, in which case you just need to accept that you're going to have 10,000 civil wars.

Another strategy is to constantly have an aggressive war going, a faction wont start a civil war if you're already at war, but losing your levy in a war will increase their power percent, so maybe go to war against a 1 province minor and just let them fail to siege for a couple years.

Well if they're less than -25 then that can usually be allowed to be released/ransomed, maybe give them an honourary title or something. If they're worse than -25, it becomes a tougher decision. If they're worse than -50 and they control a lot of troops that's definitely oubliette material.

It took Meiou and taxes how long to insert a surrendered timer. They could have just added an aggressive expansion factor in, unrest and rebels retaking if you leave provinces. It couldnt have been that hard to look at warfare and be like, oh people didnt just leave a province after a month and the people acted like they were still in control. Better yet a -manpower and cash cost if you wanted to keep the province under wraps.
