Holo-Pilot is good for what it does. It gives your enemy a target to shoot, which reveals their position, and by the time they realize the ruse, you've killed them. Just be smart about how to deploy (i.e. not in the open or in direct view of the enemy).

I was part of a /v/ community for Team Fortress 2 circa 2007. We had like 3-4 servers for TF2 but this site got pretty bad in 2008 and attracted some annoying tripcode users during that era. We decided to get rid of the tag and become our own community.

Sure a lot of us still use the site but what I'm trying to say is that the average 4channer are gimps and I avoid the communities except anonymously.

I have no shame in saying I visit 4chan, I'm just saying that a lot of people who visit the site are mongs - with shit taste in videogames, TV shows and manga.

trying to get the "sharpest" looking graphics ingame. i should not use any form of anti-aliasing right? i have AS filtering to 16x, and textures to very high(as high as my vram allows). model detail also on the highest. most other settings are maxed, but sometimes i see screenshots of the game from other players and it generally just looks better than whats on my screen. are there any source commands or settings i should change to get a sharper image?

you're thinking of TXAA, which is "free" post-processing AA and it's complete shit, it only became popular because some popular engines/games started using deferred rendering for better lighting because GPU reasons i don't understand, and DR is incompatible with good "real" AA because of other reasons so they had to fall back to something else

all the AA in titanfall uses sub-pixel sampling so it'll be nice and crisp in comparison

How does TF2 compare to stuff like Tribes or Quake?
I understand that there's some kind of slide-bunny hopping technique that lets you preserve speed, along with stuff like wall running and grappling hooks, but how does it all add up?
Would anyone be able to give me some examples of how fast things can go? I've tried looking for competitive-tier videos in the hopes of finding what I'm looking for, but all I've been able to find is a load of wankery without speeding around and styling on opponents.

If you're "fast", you're around 50km/h but it feels around 80-100+ in T:A speed (IIRC).

Add to this that there you feel a "speedboost" every wall you run on, and then you're sanicing over someone shooting them in the head while jumping from one wall to another, it generally feels very nice.

It differs from Tribes and Quake because in Titanfall you have to make a conscious effort to go fast rather than having a high baseline speed. There are weapons that are a lot like the spinfusor though so if your going fast popping people with one of them it feels really cool.

The R-97 is workable now, moreso than before. The Volt is still top tier even with the damage dropoff nerf. The Volt's nerf wasn't significant enough IMHO to take any other SMG over it in a competitive environment. I quite like the R-97 on Angel City B-point (apartment bloc in the center of the map) because it's a micro-BRRT.

It's a fun gun, don't get me wrong, but it's still leagues worse than the Volt.

So I played the shit out Titanfall and loved it when I played it, but I've put off getting Titanfall 2 because something rubs me the wrong way.

Something about the movement I see (it doesn't look fast enough) and where's muh Stryder combined with the maps looking like they're not as well designed for gottagofast gameplay.

imho the only thing Titanfall 1 has over 2 is the map design. They already added back Angel City, and without a doubt adding new ones soon. They realized that the game needed more verticality, since most of the maps were long corridors or wide fields.

Basics, yes. They basically did there best to fix most of the issues that were in Titanfall 1.
Titanfall 2 however lacks some of the small touches that really added to Titanfall 1. The maps are certainly worse, no ziplines, fewer NPC animations, etc etc.
That by no means makes it a bad game, especially since they nixed a lot of these things to do other stuff, like add more titan/ pilot abilities and far more customization.
All in all, it wont be Titanfall 1 for sure, but its a good thing that its its own game. It still largely plays the same, even though its different in its own ways and if you enjoyed TF1 you will enjoy TF2.
