One key point about the lore is that basically everything has slowly gotten shittier. That shittiness has spread and grown exponentially over the last couple of centuries, but it's been going on for a while. Even ignoring how badly shit hit the fan with the Oblivion Crisis, and how Skyrim itself is set in a dark age - the dark age immediately following the fall of the Third Empire, the Third Era even at its peak is just... lacking, compared to the Second Era, or to the First.

Though you could argue the Third Era, and even possibly the Fourth Era in which everything's going to shit in a hurry, is better if you're human, due to the relative lack of elves or dragons enslaving/butchering/oppressing you.

Hi. I'm playing my first TES game, Morrowind, first time in my life. I posted few days ago and you advised me to stay away from spoilers and cheats. But now I'm stuck.
Thinking Fighter's Guild is my bros, I put some items, including some important quest items, into the crate on the first floor of Fighter's Guild in Balmora. Literally inches from 3 people. And now I can't get them out without being booted out as a thief. What can I do? I tried Chameleon Ring, but like I said, to get to this crate I need to bump into people. I would prefer some needlessly complicated plan to get those items back rather than use any cheats, but in worst case I prefer to use cheats than ragequit a game I invested 70 hours in.

That's essentially what the NPCs do. So far iv met 3 new NPCs and one NPC with new edited lines.

One is a really yellow altmer mage in Solitude, he's the one behind the towering giant called Heiko. He just wanders around the town during the day, another is a really green argonian girl in Riften. Usually in the Bee and Barb. A new hobo NPC you meet inside Breezehome after you buy it. Go talk to the steward in Dragons Reach to have him evicted. Really cool vanilla line splicing goes on. Then he wanders around Whiterun.
