It depends on your playstyle. Maybe things will be different this season, but in season 2, climbing in solo queue was about who could carry the best. It's a difficult place for support players and other heroes who depend heavily on having reliable allies.

In general, if you see a type of team tactic in a six stack of a certain skill rank, don't expect to see that tactic in solo queue for another 500 to 1000 ranks.

I'm not enjoying this game anymore. I think my hidden MMR is fucked.

Every QP is LOPSIDED AS FUCKING FUCK, crazily so. I have a legit 10% winrate on some days, on good days its around 20%.
Every match the enemy tryhards like fuck with Genji, Ana, Zarya, Rein, while my team is no supports, Widowmaker, Bastion, Symmetra, etc.

I don't even know whats going on anymore. I'm not exaggerating.

It feels like playing as a 1500 SR team against a 2500-3000 SR team every game.

Did Blizzard shadowban me into some sort of punishment queue or what the fuck is actually going on with this motherfucking game?

Even if I'm bad, why do I get matched against good players that destroy not just me but all of my random teammates as well?
If I'm truly a crap player, why don't I get to face other crap players that are actually beatable for once?

It wasn't like this when OW was first released, but after about 2-3 months it suddenly started getting worse and worse, and by now it's become completely unbearably lopsided.

Or anyone really. Ive played over 200 hours of Mercy, Ive had my good days and bad days.

That being said, ive gotten many compliments and ive only had one game where a player on my team was toxic towards me, Saying I should give up on playing Mercy and telling me to kill myself. Last night that changed though. I played two placement competitive games, both had two players that were toxic towards me. One was mad that I didnt use my ult on only him, and the other joined voice chat just to insult me. Both called me a terrible Mercy. I only responded to the guy that went in voice chat, saying "Did you join voice chat just to insult me?" and nothing more.

Ive struggled with depression for many years ontop of the anxiety issues that I have. Im not going to go into details but the fact that im even on team voice chat is a blessing. I am fortunate enough to have a lot of amazing people as friends that have cheered me up and supported me. Its my fault for playing a pvp game though. I brace myself for these moments every time I start a game, though that has proven to not be enough.

Ive lost a lot of placement matches so far, but im not upset at the losses. Im upset at how others treat people on their own teams. You never know whats going on in their lives, you never know what they are currently going through. Many people play games to escape and have a good time. Please dont ruin this for others. I try to keep things as positive as I can, and nothing makes me happier than meeting others who do the same thing.

Im sorry if I sound pathetic to any of you. I just want more people to understand. Just be nice to your own team, be positive, dont spread negativity, and please dont push the blame on one person in a team game. Insulting someone is not going to, and will never, fix the problem.

Thanks to 721 hours of TF2, and knowing that I only ever refused to play typical MOBAs because they kinda felt too simple for me, I quickly got how it works.
I just bought it last week and reached lvl 25 yesterday, and now, after being showered in gold and silver medals, I'm like one of two lvl20-30 people among others that are AT LEAST lvl80, up to 250.
Suddenly I'm stuck with a bunch of tryhards completely disregarding me, even despite me completely maining anything tank or support (because it's fucking always hanzo/genji, reaper, widow, and a bastion with Siri as navigator) so I can keep at least the chance for teamplay up.

Blizzard seems to have this fucked up "compensation logic".
When 5 people are absolute retards, they slap one "carry" in there, which only results in losing and the carry losing the fun in the game.

This also removes the adapt-until-success mechanism.
If they would work on an algorithm that analyzes how much you cooperate instead of how Ub4h 1337 you are, they could actually have the team players wipe the floor with the solo-tryhards until those would realize "hm, I feel like being a tryhard results in nothing." and start learning.

But no, they have to slap in that one support/tank main like me and other anons so the tryhards can leech off your efforts and ruin your fun.

And that bullshit with "if you're in a group with x players, you will find no match until the enemy team has a group with x players.", what the fuck?
I have enough friends to team up and show those tryhards how it's done, but no, we have to wait 15 fucking minutes to have another full 6pack, and waiting 15 to 20 minutes for a match max 15 minutes which ends up feeling more like a battle for life because the other team MUST NOT ACCEPT FAILURE and exclusively picks counters against us instead of having that crap called "fun", and that _even in arcade_, not just QP (don't get me started on competitive...), is just dumb.

On the flip side: Our Mercy accidentally rezzed half the team under the bridge of Eichenwalde. They quit and rejoined in order to escape the pit, but with the lost time and ultimate charge, it was already too late to complete the escort. One guy got pretty tilted and hurled some insults at Mercy during character select. The rest of the team wanted to move past it, and the rager calmed down. Or at least he stopped using voice chat.

The Mercy player didn't let it go, however, who threw the game afterward. Punishing the entire team because one person got upset over a mistake.

I main Zenyatta just for the soothing personality he has.

So I got to 3480 last season. About one game from Masters. but then i lost a few games and lost the will to play the game for the rest of the season and decayed to 3000. Despite me decaying does it work like League where I will still have a higher hidden mmr around 3400? My friend who didn't even get to my highest rank and finished around 3100 placed in masters from just 6 wins in placements. Thanks senpaitachi

Well, the problem is that I crave multiplayer games, it's the only social interaction I get and I can't stand normies and their behavior - but I have nothing but OW. And I have to play something to keep distracted from my crippling depression.

I'd pick Lucio if we're on Attack or KotH, and trust Mercy to handle burst healing.

On Defense, Ana. With grenade, Ana heals 100, then Mercy heals 120 per second, then Ana's shots are healing 150 per second. Literally impossible to kill our tank unless you kill us first, and both our ults can enable a last-second hold.

I can't believe I keep launching that fucking game.
I don't get any satisfaction out of it.
My friends are awful, and strangers are even more.
After 8-2 in placements, got ranked 1775 (last season 2500). Then not a single win since the placements.
Healers that only focus on a single person, dps that can't do more kills than a reinhart, and tanks just suiciding by running alone onto enemies. Why does it have to be like this ? Why can't I get a normal team once ? I seriously do my best, i communicate, i watch out for calls. But the only feel i get is to be teamed with a different bunch of retards everytime.
I'm not pretending to be a good player, i'm probably far from it, but i really do my best and would enjoy a nice teamplay sometimes. But each game turns to a lose, and I say to myself that the next may be better. But it's never better.
Do I have to try even harder ? This game is close to get me depressed

Tanks and supports usually have to carry DPS babies on their backs up until at least Diamond, adn then things flip and DPS players start being the people you hope to pull miracles. This is mostly because DPS has the best carry potential, so good DPS players will not be ranked low while some good supports/tanks can get stuck.

Tanks and Healers are the most critical. Without them(and without them understanding how they function), you literally cannot win, no matter how good the DPS is.

At a high enough level, you have all the people who understand that, and the Healer+Tanks are more or less equal on both sides. The DPS player finally starts to be the most important skill-wise.

I got a lot of praise which was much different than first season when I ran into so many people screaming in my ear that I didn't know how to play.

In one of the matches I was in a match of entirely plats and low diamonds though, and played Zen. Came out in gold damage and golden healing at 24k / 11k so I guess I'm not as bad as I thought I was. I thought my peak performance was at 3,200.

If you are the only competent player on your ream you will lose, but a good and evasive support can shut down enemy pushes or set up/reset pushes for their own team singlehandedly. Good support mains perform better the better their team is. Let's say you can increase someone's effectiveness by 30%. It doesn't matter how hard you try, +30% of zero is still zero.

Personally, I've had top 500 players compliment my support, and I have several Master players on my friends list who want me in their group, but who I couldn't join due to skill rank limits. I spent half of Season 2 in low platinum. I got to 2980 by the end of the season by grouping with former-Master players who were trying to get back to Master by the end of the season. I got three of them back there, then each time I was no longer able to play with them.

Yeah, but when I was reading through the threads on them they all said "Undetected!" and what not so I again, I thought nothing of it.

I had so much in the game, so many legendaries, the Oni shit, 3 golden weapons, a lot of the Halloween and summer games shit, all gone now...

Ok no heres a realistic yet still powerful set of buffs that are in the REALM of possibilities:

>Hack while taking damage (at least up to X amount of damage before breaking, or maybe it only breaks with headshots)
>Remove the small delay when using cloak where she actually slows down a bit before entering stealth
>Reduce the cooldown of her hack to 6s (down from 12? I think)
>Simply reduce the giant fucking spread on her smg because soldier 76 is in the game and theres no reason for a weapon to handle this poorly. It already does a fuck ton of damage if all her shots land
>Reduce the travel time of her thrown teleport beacon, allowing her to use it for quicker escapes on the fly (Would not recommend messing with stealth if you do this)

Playing against 2700 people on average, although I suspect my personal skill is more around 2200 at most. Matchmaking is not working well at all.

The thing is, the Genjis most of the time are 2700-3000 rating. They literally wipe my entire team over and over. They often have golden swords too. If I jump one, they just dash away laughing while DPSing me down or forcing me to use my bubble. These Genjis are either within close proximity of their team, or up on some wall or flank route where they can quickly jump down to their team if you jump on them.

The most you can do is mildly inconvenience them for around 5 seconds so they have to reposition. In exchange, you make the match literally 5v6 because you're just focusing on this Genji.

The true counter to Genji is Soldier or McCree with 3k+ aim, and since I'm playing around 2700, Genji just runs rampant. It's the MMR where Genjis are smart enough to not get countered by Winston and the real counters are too bad to actually do anything. The Genjis feel like godmode.

I FUCKING wish I was good at aiming so I could just pick Cree and shit on these fucking idiots that torture me every other game and suck all the fun out...but, refer to my first post. My aim is crap and its not improving.

It's always been challenging to get high value out of Winston. I had fun doing it, though. I liked seeing the enemy team gradually evolve specifically to deal with me, and then shit all over their Reaper.

It's just too hard to play him now, though. There's nothing you an do about a D.Va except shielding against her ultimate. Her damage shreds you if she gets in your face, and you can't get away from her since her booster cooldown is one second shorter than your jump's cooldown.

Also, Soldier. He's one of the only DPS in the game who you can't viably jump when they're alone, and now he does 18% more DPS. I'll even jump and solo kill Reapers if they're in a bad spot.

OW is my first FPS (I never really liked the genre, I bought the game because my friends did and I liked the designs and how colorful it is) so my aim is pretty shit. I practice every day on QM or AI with Ana and the dps but I feel I'm not getting any better, and I always panic when I get focused by a bunny-hopping Genji or Tracer.

I'm not sure what I should do to improve my aim. I tried lowering my sensitivity so my aim is more stable when I panic yet it made me far too slow, and I actually ended up missing way more shots than with high sensitivity + flicking. Dunno if buying an expensive gaming mouse is the solution either. I also play with 30 fps at the moment, does having them up to 60 help, too? All I wanna do is get out of high plat and be diamond, I don't even want to be Master, dammit.
