As far as a speedrunner streamer going after money he is doing well for himself. But that entire model is really flawed looking 5+ years down the road. See Siglemic, Cosmo, etc, for how quickly you can become irrelevant. And once you burn out, speedrunning isn't any less of a chore as programming or engineering. You are left with a dwindling userbase, and not much in the way of marketable skills to continue your quality of life without starting from the beginning.

Being a career streamer is great for getting the money needed to get started in the real world, but especially in the speedrunning domain it is a horrible life choice if you stick with it.
