Pretty much any weapon can work with an ARC build since elemental gems will fully convert the damage of most weapons into elemental
Easiest is to take the saw cleaver or saw spear, level it to +6 so you can gem it with the waning fire gem you can pick up in cathedral ward, then run the first chalice dungeon a couple of times to kill the watchdog and pick up a couple of fire radials

No you need to do Isz before Ihyll for the ingredients. The order in the pic is the most efficient way to go in order to preserve ingredients and reduce grind. To get Ihyll you need the ingredients found in the game and CDs but also the chalice itself, which is found upon beating defiled amygdala

Defiled chalice is found upon lower Pthumeru completion. Normally you just have to proceed naturally from chalice to chalice, the original being the
one you find after BSB. You should have encountered a problem after lower phtumeru and noticed you missed some ingredients for defiled, which are found in loran, and you find loran chalice after facing amygdala.

Oh, you can put any chalice on any one of those gravestones. Order doesn't matter at all whatsoever. There's enough headstones for every required chalice, if you find yourself running out of space, just delete chalices, you can always just search for the glyph if you want to run through it again.

Chalices seem confusing at first, but they're actually quite simple. The simplest thing you can do is just go through a chalice whenever you get one.

Just look up ingredients lists for chalices.

The actual 'story' chalices all say Pthumeru, that's the main line of chalices.

>Lower Pthumeru
>Defiled Pthumeru
>Great Pthumeru Ihyll

These are all got one after the other in that very sequence. But the to get Defiled, you need ingredients from another chalice. Other chalices (Hintertombs, Loran and Isz) are essentially just areas you find specific ingredients in, it's stupid and annoying.

You will be able to find the ingredients you need for the Defiled Pthumeru chalice in Ailing Loran. You can get Ailing Loran chalice by killing Amygdala in the Nightmare Frontier. Once you have what you need, you can continue on to Defiled Pthumeru. You will need to go collect more ingredients again for Ihyll. That guide that was posted really is all you need, it's very helpful.

Really considering saving up for a PS4 now that I've got a steady source of income, and the main motivation behind it is being able to play Bloodborne. However, I'm able to recognise that buying a whole console for a single game is a little silly, so what other games would you guys recommend? Preferably PS4 exclusives, or at least games which are agreed to be far superior on console tan their PC ports/versions.

Ni-oh seems like an obvious one. Maybe the new Final Fantasy as well. I like fantasy and sci-fi, and prefer stuff with involved, real time combat like the Souls games and Bloodborne over turn based and strategy, but I'm not opposed to such games.

Question for experienced Arcanists: Is 99 ARC worth it? I want to play an Arcane build, capping at BL120 with 25/12/70 for HMS, but that tool damage at 99 makes my dick hard. Is the difference between 70-99 significant enough to forego STR/ARC split weapons and a few dozen points in HP?

70 Arcane still hits hard, and getting 25/12 opens up a lot more weapons than 10/9 so if you wanna go 99 Arc I'd make a different character. The gem farming isn't as bad as a lot of people say, much easier and fun with co-op.

I ran the calcs on mugen and the difference isn't too crazy, although with gems it's likely more noticeable. At least with 50+ ARC the Arcane damage in the sparkly-glowy form will hit harder, especially the L2 and the moon lasers
