I beat almost every boss first try. Only in the defiled chalice I died a couple of times to that spider Amygaldia!? and defiled watchdog. Really disappointed with the lack of challenge so far. What's the level I should tackle the DLC at? I am going to start a new character so I don't mess up my DLC experience. After finishing all those chalice dungeons before I got to Rom in the main story, I ended up way OP and I'm only lvl 76 right now. Runes and blood gems are way too good.

Bloodborne newfag here. Only played about 2 hours, maybe a bit more. Beat Cleric Beast and Gascoigne so far. Cleric Beast had shitloads of hp but was manageable and Gascoigne was a complete pushover with this babbymode parrying. Some thoughts so far:

>dodging is hella strong
>stamina regen is super fast
>parrying is easy as hell and has no risk involved compared to Dark Souls
>Blood Vials drop from every second enemy, giving you loads of sustain in addition to the health you get back from hitting folks

Having buttloads of fun so far. Died the first time to that machine gunning nigger spraying me at the beginning of Old Yharnam. Also I like how the first weapon I picked up in this game (Saw Cleaver) is more fun than anything I've ever used in Dark Souls

How do I make a wheel that deals rapid poisoning?

1) Aquire a +6 Wheel

2) Enter the chalice glyph s8cyrf7f

3) kill all the scorpions that are 2 seconds away from the lamp with as much Discovery as possible. They drop radial Rapid Poison gems.

4) keep farming until you have 2 that are 16.8 Rapid poison with curses that arnt too bad (honestly on a poison build only -health is noticable)

5) find a Waning or Triangle poison gem somewhere. I think poison is pretty common in Loran dungeons.

6) Poison people in a single dash-r1 and poison bosses in 2.

It depends on what gems you have.

If you have a Triangle poison gem already, an Uncanny Wheel would be best. Otherwise I think a normal wheel would be better because Poison Waning gems are easier to get than Triangle.

The scorpions are piss easy to farm, but only drop radials. I was lucky enough to get an offshape Waning so I never had to go looking for one, but Loran Silver beast boss should drop decent ones in Cursed Lower Loran root.

Basic physical gems is all you can really use. With a Heavy Abyssal if you have 50 STR and can bare to farm FRC headless bloodletting beast.

Otherwise just use 27% physicals from Ihyll and Isz watchers.

If you want early gems either use Hamlet droplets, or Lumpy Radials and Clarence Triangles from lower Pthumuru and Hintertomb respectfully.

First you are going to have to make a FRC dungeon.

Go to any empty chalice tombstone and make a Depth 5 root chalice dungeon with all 3 additional rites (Fedid, Rotted and Cursed). Now you qualify for all glyphs. Enter a different empty tombstone and select search by chalice glyph.

Type in swjteujh and reach layer 3 of the dungeon. I can coop with you to help. Once you open the gate on layer 3 quit the game and backup your savefile on a USB. Then go and kill HBLB, if you get a +65 STR scaling gem with a decent secondary effect and a useable curse, carry on and have fun. If you get an imperfect gem then quit the game and restore your savefile from the USB and repeat. Over and over until you get a perfect gem.

If you summon friends it's much easier and we get gems to. I already have the dungeon open so connections should be quick.

Yes. He drops 20.3% Phys gems and (very rarely) other types like Thrust/Blunt/Charge attack at higher values.

His trianglar counterpart is Clarence the chest guarding madman in Lower Himtertomb layer 1 pre-boss bonus area. 16.5% +15 flat.

When accounting for your typical Arcane resistances in both PVP and PVE, is there a huge difference in hunter tool damage between 70 and 99 ARC? I have the tool scaling chart but I don't know how much enemy resists affect those numbers.

I ask because I want to play an Arcanist but I'm undecided on how high I want to take the stat since those 29 points would allow me some weapon variety and I really want to use HMS.

The higher the damage the less it gets affected by defense. If your damage is 8x the defense then you do 90% of listed damage.

Fuck, that's good since you can put it in weapons that have a Waning slot which usually goes unused for most of the game. Central Ptumuru as well can be acsessed super early.

Obviously not as good as the 16.5% +15 flat Triangle gems you can get in Lower Himtertomb, but much quicker.

How can I salvage my bowblade build?


Currently runnin with Bowblade, Torch, Loch Shield and +10 Reiter for parrying.

With +4/+3 Vial runes right now I can stand to use R1 attacks a lot more, but with only 30 SKL my blade form is severely lacking.

I'm working on leveling up my SKL to 50, but if there's a way to get more damage out of the bow before doing that I'd like to go that route instead.

I don't have optimal gems, just the best I could find while running through most of the story dungeons (Ailing Loran is next) and after cycling to NG+ I am finding that I am having absolutely far too much difficulty with the bosses (particularly gascan).

Any advice other than suicide or starting a new character (I already started a new character and almost immediately got bored)?

Get 20.3% Lumpy gems in Lower Pthumeru layer 2 and 16.5%+15 from the Madman on Lower Hintertomb mentioned a couple posts above for decent gems. Visceral are tied to gems and mainly Skill level so parry/visceral Gascan to get through him. Other than that, git gud and finish the dungeons, those gems should be enough to get to FRC and you'll rack up enough echoes to get 50 Skill.

I can't tell if this is serious or very, very specific bait for the guy making the guide to being as over powered as possible before Amelia.

Either way there's a lot you can do before Amelia to make yourself stronger. There's 3-4 optional areas you can complete, and if you explore thoroughly you should have a +6 weapon, and be level 40+.

You can also go pretty deep into the chalice dungeons and get obscenely powerful gems, but that requires beating things harder than Amelia and takes loads of farming. It's cool you can do it, and I want to see that dudes video if he ever actually makes it, but it's overkill.

A +6 weapon and some fire paper is all you need, I isually get behind her and attack the left leg, the key is to stay right on her and keep aggressive enough to lock her in staggering from doing large damage to limbs. She also won't heal if you are right on her. But I'd suggest exploring optional areas and leveling up first.

Depends on your playstyle and the type of weapons you like.

Vitality is a very important stat. You should aim for no less than 40 with any character unless you really know what you are doing.

Endurance is a toss up. Some people don't level it past base, most stop at 20. Personally I'd keep it between 20-30 depending on the weapons you use, heavier weapons take more stamina to use, but honestly... The passive physical defence you get from it really helps me.

Strength and Skill are your primary damage stats, and should be leveled in accordance with what weapons you are using and their scaling. Weapons scale with either or both with an E to S scale. If your favorite weapon has high strength scaling for example, pump strength. These both have softcaps at 50 so don't exceed.

Bloodtinge is primarily for firearm damage, but there are a few primary weapons that scale with it really well. Rule of thumb, if it's a projectile weapon or it's covered in blood, it scales with BLT.

Arcane Is still a bit of a mystery to me, best reading the guide in OP.

Quality playthrough is recommended first time around, Bloodtinge and Arcane builds are pretty complicated compared. 25 first softcap, 50 next. So get both Strength and Skill to 25 then decide which to get to 50 if you care about staying within a meta (80-120, 98 here). You got two excellent gems though. 65 scaling and + Physival attack are very sought after. Although they would work better on something like Axe or Beast Cutter than Ludwigs or HMS, because those weapons have shit scaling so the increase is much more noticable.

Also, when I was farming blood vials, some dude invaded me, I never played online before so it was kinda awkward and I didn't know what to do untill he attacked me. We traded a few blows, he used like 5 vials, whilst he did almost no damage to me. I got bored, unzipped my chikage and murdered him in two strikes. The first one took about 90% of his health.

It's going to be edited in Premiere Pro, the problem is that my hardware is shit and it will crash if I import more than a couple of these vids at a time. You can basically neutralize his entire first phase moveset by dodging to 9 o' clock. In his second phase, you really need to dodge to 2 o' clock, and sometimes 3 o' clock. He has one really nasty swing in particular that cuts from his 8 to 12, that I never really worked out the tell for. Aside from that though it's pretty consistent.

Second phase has no hard to dodge instant kills.

The first phase charge and drop attack can both 1 hit kill someone. The charge for people without a lot of hp and the high drop will kill almost anyone. The super laser charge attack in phase 2 is too easy to dodge

You can dodge the drop by literally running in a straight line. The charge requires a little positioning since you can't dodge it if you're too close to a wall, but if you just move a bit after attacking to stay at the center of the arena, dodging right is foolproof.
Of course second phase is easy as fuck, he doesn't move around a lot and he doesn't attack behind him so one player can wail on his back while the other takes a hit and they can keep alternating aggro to easily heal back to full.
