Ultra weapons are pretty fucked now compared to Greatswords. HA was their one saving grace before, but now GS have the advantage there.

The time between their HA frames leaves them way too vulnerable to fast weapons, and if a GS can HA through your first hit they can hit you a second time and usually interrupt your next swing.

If this really was the case you would've quit the series a long time ago since pre-Bloodborne bosses are all shit compared to the DmC series.

I found most bosses in bb easily stunlocked or have very obvious blindspots, where they can't hit you at all. Most of the challenging fights are locked behind the optional chalice content. But half of those are just trash mobs with boss health or reskins.

Uhmm hoping this isn't in the obvious shit realm, but pay attention to sound cues, during the first phase you can hear where the Crystal Sage comes out from, so if you stand in the middle of the arena you can guarantee you'll get to him before he starts spamming his magic bull shit.

During the second phase I like standing in one side of the map then running towards the other in hopes of engaging the Sage on the first try (i believe he is likely to appear the furthest from you). In case you fail, take cover and take out the fakes, slowly. I believe they will die from a hit of anything, so I'm down to use throwing knives from a distance to disable them.

Dark and Chaos have the same scaling.
In PvE Dark is strong against anything that resists Fire, if you go Chaos you're not really going to have any fallback unless you have dark damage pyromancies like Black Serpent or Black Fire Orb.
Of course for PvP you can pick whichever.

It's possible to do enough damage even as SL1 to kill the gravetender before the wolf comes. If you have both the wolf and the gravetender alive it's better to just restart the fight. Normally you would do fights like these unlocked, but the wolf dashes so fast you can't really play unlocked or else you'll lose track of him.

After playing BB I don't see why anyone needs anything more than 20 stamina

That is very wrong. There are so few enemies that resist fire (lake and peak being the big exceptions) and so many that resist dark, that you're better off with chaos.

He was saying as a pyromancer the recommendation is dark which is correct. Your main attack method, spells, are already going to cause that effect, even from fire surge. So you need the dark weapon infusion specifically for dealing with Pontiff Knights, Smoldering Lake/Demon Ruins, and Archdragon Peak.
I've played with a pure caster so having only black serpent to fall back on until you get black fire orb/black flame is pretty harsh and the dark weapon would clearly make it a lot easier.

Friede's Great Scythe is pretty anime and has a nice stance combo. Feels somewhat Bloodborne-esque in the sense that pressing L2 changes up the moveset and allows for anime combos or an AoE frost attack.

Valorheart is also somewhat unique, the jumping attack on it is pure style.

As far as the MLGS it's decent given the latest patch to greatswords. If it is a fake, or if we get a new one in future DLC, it would be incredible, but I'm not holding my breath for a return to the unopposed glory that my guiding moonlight had in BB.

You didn't. The Greatlance and Pike are actually shorter than the LK Long Spear, the LKLS actually has the same reach on the R1's as many spears (like the DS spear and DS swordspear), and the Gargoyle FS has the longest reaching R1's of them all.

You're better off using an offhand thrusting sword of your choice with the RH halberd. This "combo" has already been found long ago.

Okay /dsg/ I have never tried a luck build so what's the go-to stats for one? Go quality 40/40 and use 40 luck as supplement or can I dedicate luck and just go bare minimum for the weapon req? Planning on using anri and regen or status effects.
