HA fix made everything great. Unembered arena is great for hyperweapons for having to deal with weaker hp pools. Hail Miyazaki still have tons of problems to fix but this is certainly a step up

He IS a great boss, I just wish he was unparryable and some of his attacks wouldn't whiff if you're standing too close to him and crouching while attacking. Also make his body double invincible.
Sully with no cheese is probably my top 3 bossfights in the series. It has amazing pacing/"flow", his moveset is fast and diverse enough, music is great, the arena is a nice cathedral with mirror floors imported directly from Iron Keep, it's really good. He also is not some literally who, and has some build up as a character. Would've been even better if he was a talking boss like Oceiros.

I was right after the Dragonrider Armor fight in DS3, and just wasn't really enjoying myself. Decided to try Demon's Souls for the first time, and am loving it. I spent nearly an hour in those mines, carrying 40,000 souls, had no where to go except Flamelurker. Knew I couldn't win. Barely beat him anyway. I haven't had a thrill like that since first playing BB.

I've never messed around with Sacred Bloom or Golden Wing shields enough to see what it's like, do you have to be in their face to make them work or can you do it from to feet away

I figured 1280x would be better to help with reading numbers and stuff, that's at like 700 for the bitrate though, I could drop it down to like 750x but it seems like changing the resolution doesn't make a significant impact on the file size unfortunately. Nah, they used to have shit-tier reach and attack speed so it was nearly impossible to ever hit anyone with the R1. I know, I really tried making them work for a long time early on in the game because I really liked the moveset. With the winblades it's just a lame spin but with the drangs, it's the elegant swing with the weight of the hammers, using the momentum to launch you through the air with the R2 after the L2.

I'd say now they should be on par with the other spin2win weapons, but they're different because they're hammers (and all the unique qualities that go with that, especially with staggering and poise breaking) and the WA is different. The L2 R2 jump through the air is actually really useful in a lot of situations, you cover a good amount of ground with it and can catch people off guard.

Demon's Souls is on par with the other games but it's only the "best" because people either played it first and have good memories of it or are playing it now after getting tired of the games everyone has played to death because the games have an active online which hooks them to play even if they're not really enjoying it.

I tested them recently.
Didn't like much, too fucking slow for a relatively light weapon. If the opponent stays out of range of your R1 there is nothing you can do because the running and rolling attack sucks, the weapon art covers so little ground too.
It does feel good hitting the wombo combo though.

Smaller shields are more common but still very rare. Everyone is parry whore and nobody can parry the CCS on running.

I don't mind people rushing down others when they try to buff, at least in arena, it offers another dynamic as opposed to "let me add free extra damage to every attack from now until the buff runs out". guys, what weapon/spell goes particulary well with the new friede sythe?

Also, any build recommendation?
I'd assume 40/40 dex/int is a recquirement.
Possibly semi-offensive skills like G.Deep Soul or crystal hail and soulmasses would go well with the agressive nature of the sythe.

I was also thinking of an offhand rapier for parries and pokes.

Not really. It has it's upsides, but I think it's retarded that the world tendency does shit like arbitrarily removes rubble from places or sets up a ladder and the most you can access usually is one item or shit like that.

Further, the way the World Tendency doesn't work properly when you're online was really stupid as well.

World tendency was okay as long as you didn't know about the system, when you learned the system the whole thing became tedious because you had to keep maintaining it by going offline (which makes the game's online even deader) or missing out on the cool shit.

Demon's Souls is inevitably the baseline the other games are compared to because it was the first.

I'd say that Demon's Souls has one thing at least over the other games : it's consistent in it's checkpointing system. You get one checkpoint per killed boss and that's it.
Dark Souls 1 was also alright with this, but DS3 was kinda retarded in trying to do both the "bonfire for Boss"-system and the DS1 system.
The idea of dividing levels into it's own separate sets instead of having a consistent world is a tradeoff : otoh it removes the necessity of transition zones that are usually kinda shit as "levels", but it also makes you lose spatial awareness and you don't know how the levels are really linked to each other. And the levels end up fairly linear since they're designed with teleport in - teleport out in mind.
There were also some actually shitty things about DeS like the falling damage being either non-existent or instantly fatal, ladders being a huge chore to climb.

The trick is that you've gotta use a WA shield with them, the best being black knight. It's what allows you to safely get in close to people.

It's similar to the old BK Glaive combo in a lot of ways, before they patched it so you could roll out of the last swing of the R1 L2 R2. If you catch someone with the R1 of the drangs it staggers them and often poisebreaks, with a true combo into the L2 R2. With buffs you can get over 1k damage on a single combo, but even just normally with 40/40 refined and no buffs or resin or anything you still get over 800 consistently. And if you land the R1 it's a true combo, it ALWAYS lands the full combo and it's inescapable.

I mean just watch how I'm playing in the webm by staying on top of him while protecting myself when necessary with the shield. It's very powerful if used properly, I believe hammers do extra damage against shields too which is useful for guardbreaking, and the R1 is a horizontal swipe so it's great for roll catching. I'm used to using a spear and shield so switching to the drangs was easy for me since I know how to use a shield to it's maximum potential.

The best thing to do in DkS3 if you are at a weapon disadvantage is to stand still. If I have crow quills and my opponent has any long reaching ha weapon that isn't. I can't be the first person to attack because they'll ha and win the trade, they can't be the first to attack because I'll hit them in between swings. It becomes a game of stand still and whoever has the most patience wins.

Cant blame only daS3fags. I remember back in DaS1 I was invaded just as I was about to cross the fog wall. Instead I waited for the invader to have fun fight. As he approached I buffed the weapon and he ran away. After I messaged him he replied "weakness of buffs = time" so I turned 360 and walked into the fog wall I was standing in front of.

That really doesn't happen very often, it's extremely rare and it's incredibly easy to just BC out or at worst Alt+F4.

I've been playing over 600 hours now and I have literally never run into an insta-curse guy. Usually it's obvious infinite health type of shenanigans, I think one time I ran into a FC with people levitating and stuff and I just BC'd out without any issue.

Just don't pick up any items people you invade drop and you're good. Even when I've had anons drop me rings and stuff I always keep backup saves just in case, but it's literally never been a problem. If it was I was prepared though, making backup saves is easy and useful for a lot of things (savescumming, essentially).

It's pretty obvious when PS4fags pretend like they know PC souls and like everyone is a hacker and it's out of control and hackers are getting everyone softbanned. It's pretty ridiculous and paranoid.

It's a shame the twinkling stone effects are so goddamn slow, I made a dragon build and realistically the only one I can use in pvp is the plain torso.
It's nice to have the other ones for pve though.

Music, presentation and atmosphere are all subjective, the mechanics of the fights and the challenge are more based on objective elements that can be observed on a fact basis.

If you say a music is "good", I can't provide any arguments to the contrary since it's wholly subjective. Saying that Pinwheel or Tower Knight are challenging bosses though, I can deconstruct that very easily, or with Old Hero you can provide good arguments as to why that's a good bossfight describing the elements that make it a good bossfight within the Souls formula.

The timing is super obvious and consistent though, I never run into any one who knows how to stagger the attack timings properly so it's really easy to just back up just outside of the range of their 2nd or 3rd attack (after checking how spammy they are of course), and then beating the shit out of them for free.

Hell, I'm be surprised if people could just learn how to go L2 R1 immediately instead of walking around in the WA form, most people don't even know how to do that. Makes me want to try it myself with a BK shield in all honesty, probably do that when I get to rosaria again in NG+ and make a backup save.

There are many non difficult bosses that are very beloved for various reasons. SoC is easy yet a lot of people like him, Artorias is the most popular DLC boss despite Kalameet's tail and Manus being harder, same goes for Ludwig compared to Orphan or Laurence.

You can't judge certain subjective parts of bosses but there a lot of examples where there's a significant consent on their quality. Such as most people liking Storm King or AW's gimmicks and hating on BoC's one
