Why does anybody on PC even give a damn about the SE release? It was free here, so there's no fake sense of propriety for people who might have bought it, and aside from 64-bit support it basically brings nothing that wasn't already available for the PC crowd.

The best case is we're looking at several months until SKSE64 is usable for the SE, but in the meantime we could be enjoying the same 1080p+ modded gaming that we have been since 2011.

It has something to do with "their page in the book of fate is blank" to use a metaphor I've seen used to describe the heroes. So has anyone unpacked all the textures from the vanilla high-res texture pack and compared them against all of the SSE textures, throwing out whichever is lower quality?

I know they fixed DXT compression issues with some of the new textures, but for most of them that aren't busted, I'd rather have a 1K or 2K texture that's crisp and easier on VRAM than a 2K or 4K texture that's just a shitty upscale compressed to hell.
