It's for when you have multiple files that alter the same nif. It will ask you which one you want to export to.

Me being an idiot and 6am must've saved the conversion without changing the file header so it overwrote the file but I didn't see it because I always put JB in front of them.

That's because Bethesda largely made most of the major mods from Fallout 3/NV themselves as offical DLC.

Theres no need to remake those mods for Fallout 4, so modders are left with just making smaller tweak based mods to fill the gaps they feel the offical DLC didn't cover.

It started out as just that small outpost on stilts to the left overlooking the crops desu. One night I got the idea to build a wall/bridge around the building, essentially covering the crops from all angles but one.

Exactly the same as mine, and I doubt it's because of the case - mine is an FD Arc Midi R2, which is not made with sound deadening in mind. Still pretty quiet, since it's airflow oriented as fans don't have to work hard, but anyway.

My card does whine when it's close to 100% load (for instance playing Ark), but since I have Vsync enabled on Fallout 4, it sits at around 30% load, and the whine is pretty tame. Did you disable it on your side?

Recommended mods which are practically fan Expansions/DLC? For Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 4. No complete Overhauls, except those can be turned off in MO. I've complete versions for all three. I know about Cybernetic Dawn for Fallout 3.

Both good and bad.

Its good because offical versions of any mod are always a plus, as it means actual engine/game support, instead of shitty, buggy, work around, and generally makes it easier to expand on those things while keeping the game stable.

Its bad because it means there is far less motivation/room for big ideas in the modding community, thus meaning a number of people have far less interested in making big mods, and instead only make smaller tweaks.

Pillars of eternity is, IMO, one of the most poorly written games I have played.

The plot is a jumbled mess, theres no pacing, you spend the first 99% of the game learning fuck all about anything, only for them to info dump you everything in very last dungeon of the game in MASSIVELY long text dumps.

The combat is unbalanced

Most of the companions are even less interesting then those in Fallout 4, and have even less reason to be going with you.

Basically nothing you do actually matters, even compared to modern RPGs.

The entire third act is obviously unfinished, the fnal town is as large as the first big town, but has like 1/20 the content.

The stronghold mechanic is obviously unfinished.

Weapon modding IIRC can be done with OS and Nifskope, but I prefer 3ds Max since its cuts out some steps. If you need any tips on either I know a TON about armor and clothing rigging, and a little bit about working with weapons, I only started some shit the other day with guns.

Thats a good start. Most of your texture mods will just be slighly altered versions of the regular textures for the time being. I do use a few mods from the vivid fallout series, but I only use like one or two because the rest conflict with my winter wasteland. You might download the ojo bueno mod, but there are only like 3 things affected by that right now, I would reccomend tracking it and waiting until they release more in updates.

I've tried editing it in 3ds, nifskope, and as a last resort, OS, and nothing seems to let me change its positioning other than setting it to the P_projectile_Far keyword in the CK. I'm looking CK minigun up and down now to see if I can fix this shit.

You can still add basic sliders for at least SOME customization. Atomic Beauty doesn't have very many sliders but it does alter a lot more as a trade off.

You can get ingame with any body mod and have it "just work" with very little customization outside of getting a preset and hitting batch build on outfits.

Any good melee weapon mods yet? The only quality ones I've found are the "Murdering Chainsaw" and the "Concrete Sledgehammer." 99% of the rest are just awful combat knife retextures or weapons modelled by people who have never seen a weapon in real life.

Crits for days, ammo for days, its fun. Kelloges pistol refills ap on crits, so thats my finisher. Also, crits Never miss, so I get that 1% chance to hit fusion cores, they're done. Holding three crits, and using them all on one guy, in one vats. Hes done.

Actually right now I'm looking for suitable meshes I could use to make the turbo-motor add on and liquid nitrogen coolant tanks.

Im thinking some huge engine / motor type thing attached in front of the ammo drum, and liquid nitrogen tanks attached to the right side, with pipes leading into the spinning mechanism, and those gel-coolant ring devices all along the barrels. I'm also gonna retexture the barrels to look closer to the original, and paint the chassis Red, perhaps make it match the color of the engine / motor as well.

I think instead of using a prefab part I'll mix and match some of the machinery set dressing pieces into something I like.

Beth was pretty cool to have some generic machinery bits folder for making your own custom machines, mainly meant for decoration, but in my case I could make a motor looking device with it, without using the pre-made stuff.

Lotsa vents, tubes, blocks, etc to use.

Millenias P220 and Kiparis. The M014 and AK I mentioned earlier. Modern Firearms. The SCAR-H Is pretty nice too. The AN-94 isn't that great of a mod, but I love the gun so there's that. Glock P80, M1911, DSK501, FiveseveN. The PTRS-41 is great. That mod that adds blowback and the missing pipe shotguns is nice. H&KG3

Survival mode is fantastic.
Somewhat realistic carry capacity, lol no damage and enemies that can kill you in 2-3 shots. Really have to play it smart now.

Power armor is also good to use now. Does the game throw more bobby pins at you in this mode?

That makes less sense. A large vanilla worldspace would mean longer load times you realize? On top of that you're now going to run into mod conflicts because your expansion is a plugin and not part of the original master file.
Worldspaces were one of the best features Bethesda developed between Morrowind and Oblivion, not having everything on the same map has more advantages than disadvantages.

I'm making the CZ57 Avenger. I wanted something that didn't look like a piece of shit the SS just slapped on there, the Avenger was supposed to be top of the line minigun technology.

The barrels and coolant rings shouldn't be as hard to make, I had a hazy vision of how I wanted the additional motors for it to look, so I experimented with lots of parts.

What about what Obsidian did in NV? I don't think there is much to improve upon from that. Don't fix what is not broken. I'd much rather have had them do something like improve the gun handling and ironsight aiming (which they did), while also maintaining the NV progression. I don't remember much about FO3 because I hated it, but in NV I remember there were several perks that narrowed down what you used. Stuff that gave revolvers better in VATS, or shotguns more damaging, etc. Also, there were unique perks you had to earn. For instance, being friends with the Great Khans was beneficial because it meant you got a special melee move. So if you were unarmed, it was more appetizing to go that route.

I deleted the vents anyway, they were causing issues, and didn't fit well with the yellow part. Besides CK work and textures, all I need to do now is add 5-6 additional rings to the barrels.

I think I'm going to make this gun fire 1.66 times faster than the regular minigun, or 2x, and have accuracy about on par with the tri-barrel, and damage also higher than normal since the Avenger was supposed to have better rifling per barrel, which I guess would mean more damage per bullet.

So maybe something like 16 damage per bullet, tri-barrel accuracy, and consuming 50 - 60 bullets per second, not sure what speed to set it to yet. Oh and this is purely cosmetic but I also removed the ability for this gun to begin smoking and turning bright orange from overheating while firing.

The only real difference would be in recoil, but Fallout is scifi, and recoil could come from the kickback of the gun released the built up energy.

A lot of the perks from NV were merged into the basic skill leveling though.

I was apprehensive to learn how to make guns because I assumed it was too hard.

LITERALLY all you need is OS and Nifskope, you don't even need 3ds Max. All these rings, I turned them 180 in OS and put them on the minigun in nifskope. I was done in like 20 seconds!

This is literally ONE HUNDRED times easier than skinning.

vanilla radio sucks ass. travis is only somewhat tollarable in his beta bitch mode, and still only plays like 15 songs with bad randomization for switching them.

It makes it "harder" by making you die in one hit until you get max level ballistic weave or power armor, while you still do normal damage. It gets really tedious after a while, and I found myself only spending money on vertibird signal grenades because it takes so fucking long to do anything or get to anywhere. Also, the ammo weight makes using heavy weapons and explosives useless. It's still better than normal, though.

If you mean Survival, yes.
It resolves the damage-sponge issue of the other higher difficulties by giving the player a 1.5 damage multiplier which can be further increased by another 50% via the Adrenaline perk, while enemies get a 2.0 damage multiplier and no HP multiplier.
The penalties for not eating/drinking become particularly noticeable once you have an illness and have to resort to take drugs, which quickly dehydrates, etc., eventually leading to AP and SPECIAL penalties - which makes for challenging situations, for example when fighting a tough enemy in the middle of nowhere, while having to deal with parasites and a radstorm comes blowing in.

Don't listen to this shitter. While the one-shot issue might be true at lower levels, it becomes a non-issue later. Though you obviously never should expect to survive a close-range shotgun blast to the face.
Most importantly though, keep in mind that min/maxing equipment and stats, and using Power Armor completely trivializes Survival mode and completely defeats its purpose by making it exactly what you don't want - Normal mode with meters to babysit.

If you actually want to play Survival because you want a challenge, stick to a "normal" character build, with SPECIAL distribution and perks that fit your character's theme.
I also suggest using a level-cap mod to never end up too overpowered. 50-75 works best.

There you go. Now you can actually have fun with the game.

I'm level 46 on Survival with the mk5 ballistic weave on my clothes and I still regularly get one shotted.

Locationalized damage is a thing in FO4, and so is armor rating.
Getting hit into the abdomen (which happens most of the time due to the bigger target in relation to the limbs) generally just reduces your complete HP pool.
However, all limbs, including the head, have their own HP pools. Reducing those micro-HP-pools also reduces the complete HP pool. However, when a limb drops below a certain percentage, it gets crippled. Take more damage to that limb, you'll lose it and you'll instantly die, regardless of how high your complete HP pool is.
