Except it fucking does. DaS1 had good PvP but backstabs being magnetic and limited movesets hindered it. It's up there, but not great.

2 was a travesty. An absolute travesty. Ignoring Soul Memory, there were legitimate infinite combos and glitches that turned it from actual combat into something completely different. Flynns Ring and "lmao fuck ur backstabs m8" didn't help at all.

Bloodborne was also shit. You think unembered arena in Dark Souls 3 is bad? Wait until you meet Blood Gems which turn every fight into "whoever gets hit first dies" and Dexfags raining absolutely 100% supreme because "Hey lets tie the crit multiplier to the skill stat because IM A DUMB FUCKING NIGGER"

Dark Souls 3 has managed to quash every sign of cancer that plagued the last few games, the exception being shit like poke damage from flame surge (which was in BB in the form of the watering cans) and low HP in arena. Also Hornet Ring needs to be deleted from the souls series as a whole.

Tonitrus trivializes aliums and aliums only, everything else doesn't give a fuck about bolt damage. Stake Driver relies on a gimmick and is outclased by Saw Spear, even in PvE.

That isn't the claws. I say this as someone who has 200 fucking hours on a beasthood character. It's the beast pellet effect, the claws themselves are absolute fucking garbage. I almost forgot: The beast claws w/ the Beast Rune also gives you an absolutely useless "roar attack" which I found useful at ONE point in the whole goddamn game:

In the isz chalice, right before you fight rehashed Ebby, there are like 8 aliens in a room. I just screamed at them until I had a full beasthood meter, walked in and destroyed Ebrietas.

Thats it. That is the ONLY place I ever found a use for that move. And in Bloodborne, having a completely 100% dead fucking move on a weapon is a big deal.

I mean just think about the weapon combos, Rifles X Spear, Cane X Whip, Longsword X Huge Stone Thor Hammer, etc

They CANNOT have the same combos.

What I love about the Stake Driver is if you have it extended it's like a shortsword with a forward moveset, and if you have it compressed/loaded it's like a caestus with a knife on the knuckles (stabbing punches vs horizontal swings). It's special is fucking BIG O style pile bunker exploding punch.

So yes, each weapon has a nice variety of moves both tricked and untricked outside of roll/backstep/charge moves. Mostly because they are very different weapons when tricked/untricked.

What he means is because of the altered playstyle some people prefered use the same kind of moves repeatedly because they were better for chasing people dashing away or around.

A few sweep moves or reach moves were preferred on a few weapons which became the shitter meta because in fights when someone just mashed dash to get away to heal or avoid damage you could punish them.

The better people you played with the less this happens on both sides but in the interest of being honest I won't pretend like it wasn't 80% of players, and while I was fond of entire movesets on some stuff like the Wheel or Claws every once in a while you'd run into the dude who thought dodging forever only to dodge attack once in a blue moon was fighting, and you'd have to cheese his face off.

I feel like something people never consider about DaS1 is WHY poise was just good enough in it. The weapons in DaS1 were like the weapons in DeS, they only had about 3-4 moves in the whole fucking moveset. Having the ability to have what is basically a single instance of hyperarmor is acceptable when a weapon has limited things to do it with, but then you take a look at Bloodborne, or DaS3. Weapons now have 5-8 moves, combos, mixups. Then you go ahead and add hyper armor to possibly any move in that moveset. What are the chances one of these is going to break the game with it? How do you punish people from using the weapon, and that move, without just fucking poise as a whole?

The answer is simple: Just add flat hyperarmor on certain moves. Bloodborne did it. DaS3 did it. It IS the best case, because now you don't have to design EVERY move with the assumption that some retarded acne ridden fuckface is going to find a way to minmax enough poise to gain hyperarmor on some weapon where hyperarmor has no business being there.

That's what I'm using, but it just does so little damage. I'm not summoning anyone fyi so it's not because of effective health increase, it's just pathetic damage against both bosses, and because it's a slow, specific range, two move combo, stamina hungry weapon it's just..not well suited.

Yes,by that metric Lorian and Lothric were 3 bosses since the fight has at least that mamy healthbars.

And the Gravetendies fight while ok, felt more like it was base game quality+adds instead of a proper, polished DLC fight. If the Gravetender fight was against a player forced to use Valorheart like Old Looking Monk 2.0 it would've been of justifiable quality but as it stands the NPC fight isn't challenging and the choice of clothing for the NPC also makes it not feel atmospheric in the slightest. The joke was funny at first but offers little lasting value.

Friede and Ariandel were a little better designed but I'm not going to like it very much if DLC2 doesn't find ways to add challenge to the boss other than endurance gauntlets.

Anything you infuse with Crystal/Simple loses a fuckton of Dex scaling, most weapons with Dex/Int scaling so heavily favor Int that you get more going from 40 it 60 Int than from base to 40 Dex, and the only real weapon for the build is the new Freide's Great Scythe, and even then only on its weapon art. And that thing is kinda trash overall.

Best staff depends on your Int. 40int is Heretic Staff, 60 is Court Sorcerer. Note that you won't be dealing shit for damage with Heretic and 40.

Its just a good all around Medium Shield, my main reason is the look.
Weapon Art L2
100% Physical Block, 70% Lightning, 60% Dark and Magic.
53 Stability at +5 and is lighter than alot of shields at that stability
Health Regen is also a plus, especially if you combine it with Blessed Weapon or something Blessed infused.
Its biggest weakness is Fire, it only has a 35% resist to it.

The thing to remember about weapon infusions is that refined only gets 20-30 extra AR over heavy or sharp, at the cost of 30 extra levels. Technically speaking, refined is terribly inefficient, but you can usually get away with it because 40str/40dex is a piss easy investment to make with lots of synergy. The trick is to get more than 1 AR per level out of your Dex/Int so you stack up favorably compared to refined.

Everything becomes "immensely overpowered" at 140. Pyro isn't special in this regard, nor is it even good compared to the other SL140 options. Past SL120, pyro stops being the best caster because other casters can afford to meet their basic investment costs and actually equip their main weapons.
