You need either someone with suit sensors on + CMC to calculate the Z-level offset, or calculate it manually by finding the thing you want to find in the first place.
What you can do however is just do a sweep search at the approximate coordinates and you usually find it right away, but it's really shitty to try to do it without a jetpack.

animations only really benefit you on a cosmetic level and with these sprites it'd just look bad more than anything
look at runescape for example
all animations occur after damage calculation occurs
thus there's no way to react to anything other than equipment changes(just like in SS13), overhead prayers, and stuff like Vengeance, so combat is nothing but reads

what you really need is more variation in defensive options
you have a few main avenues of offense and defense
tablegrabs after a stun, as well as Having A Weapon That Disables And Deals Damage end up being the most powerful options

to win in combat you basically need these things:

>i have a way to end the fight

a fireaxe covers the third because of it's high damage, and half of the first because it can block when 2handed, but there is no way to keep them off you, so you're disadvantaged

there's too many good offensive options and not enough good defensive options

It gets boring after a month. I know that there are players who play it for years, but why?
Things are either overpowered or underpowered, anyone can do any job, we all just metagame everything, there are no skills or anything like that.
