How many varieties of "mental" damage can you think of? I was thinking of a contrarianly designed roguelike where physical damage causes special conditions and it is the mental effects that drain willpower, which are used more similarly to hit points.

Pain, Fear, Demoralization (generic willpower drain caused by a superior fighter), Horror, Awe, Madness.

If you're looking for easy win, get hackers to hack secrets and print them in your newspaper, endure firefighters coming and burning your stuff, fighting back will just cause problems.

Best way to use your main guy is to have him as mastermind, who recruits henchpeople, who will recruit people doing dirty jobs.

If there is risk of your people being captured and ratting you out, it's just better to let them die in fight.

Certain clothes will help when you're out asking for donations, recruiting or converting kidnapped people, sneaking ect; check the wiki.

Keep your mastermind in safehouse that brings no heat (police attention), so they won't get caught in siege.

Get some expendable guy and make them go to bank and make note robbery, you will get $5000 without fight.

Good way to get some starting juice on new guys is to go with them to some safe-ish place na paint graffiti.

I have a parked level 50 demigod of life still.
Monks are way better.
And it's only regular healing for 300 health.
Healing true you can cast like 2 times and Ultimate Resistance will get dispelled so it's useless in the endgame.
Trust me, you'll want all the healing you can get and Demonic Grasp is great value for that.

How do I deal with uniques in Sil? I've died like 3 times now to that teal orc unique that appears on 450'. I find that he will appear up to 3 floors above his depth, but even if I were to encounter him at 450' I feel that I wouldn't be prepared since a few extra points in melee or evasion wouldn't really help. I know that exploration xp is more valuable than killing xp, but should I just run to the stairs even if it means I won't encounter the unique again?

Eh I can still take grasp if it feels necessary by then. But by that point depending on my items the Cult could be better, or Fleet, or Chugger. I kindof doubt One With Magic will be worth it, even if I am casting Ultimate Resistance. I was kindof thinking about taking Infernal Deal first into Sacred Vitality but meh, decided to pass.

The Sacred Vitality is already noticeably helpful early with my CLW CSW CCW spells, and Healing itself comes in 7 levels. Not sure if it works with Regeneration. It might be a combo with Chugger later, which could be cute for the J? But greedy.

Crippler was from Mordecai, and I got Bloodlust from a random Centaur.

Bloodthirst is usually meh if you' using AoE, but it was great in this build. The small healing from each extra turn made the build quite tanky.

I'm not really sure about Leadership. I usually skip animations, and my turns were accelerated so frequently that I didn't care to check the source of it.

Transpose Soul wasn't necessary as most of the core abilities for this build can be found early in the tower. The only tricky one is Spin Slash as only Vikhor and Turdak have it, but i was lucky to find Vikhor's Sanctum.

The relic's weakness are determined by the primary abilities you choose. In this case, the original resistances/weakness were Body/Elec.
I soul armored Vikhor so i could get those sweet resistances and the speed boost.

Crippler didn't proc that much because of the shitty cunning, but it was very useful against enemies with high defense and/or sustain.

I'm not sure what you mean by "terminal baddie", but one advice i can give is that you should strive for a balance between offence/defense and resistances in your party.

Cataclysm DDA. rig all your dynamite and pipe bombs with radio triggers. Put them all over some junker to fixed up. Then armor up like the michelin man and jump out while it's going fairly fast at something. If you survive, send signal to engulf the horde in hellfire. If you have z-levels there will be a crater where your car bomb once rolled.

Alternatively, read the talmud and shout verses as you crash into them and send signal as the zombies breach.

Centaur link isn't that hard, Heroism is a really powerful buff. If don't feel comfortable fighting alone like that you can just let the centaur do all the work, you'll just need to spend a few heal stones.

There is no list that i know of, but you can check your resistances/weakness in the page before beginning the game. They're pretty intuitive usually.

Pretty much. The bigger numbers do make it more dangerous, but if you have completed Angband you have the basics down.

The biggest difference honestly is that J is teleport immune. This forces you to teleport in situations where you would rather do something else in V.

It really depends on your character.
PGR has a really high cast rate, is still super fast, and has a really tight spellset of nasty stuff.
Unicorn is similar in that certain characters handle it better than others.
Morgoth is basically a somewhat easier version of J. Emphasis on somewhat.

The thing is you really want to be kitted out with J-tier gear and consumables for any of them and most people want to just use that stuff for J. As such q, =, and P are often not worth fighting.

How do we fix the current balance issues in Demon?
Fighty summoners aren't viable without two entire relic upgrades and a shitload of credits dropped on exotic soul armors.
Hand the the Dead literally doesn't work anymore because you can't tank for shit with low strength.

The biggest problems Demon faces are
-The dungeon itself is featureless.
-Items are this barely present thing that can randomly trivialize certain things or make them impossible.
-The AI is really dumb but we can't have smart AI because they game isn't set up to make it possible to play around.

cavalry is kind of neat with a wand of haste monster

you can just zap it at your mount for perma +10speed, and the charges restore faster than the duration runs out

the interface is a bit weird though; the game doesn't want to let you aim wands at yourself/your mount so you have to manually target the location of the square you're standing in
