I really liked the enemy ecounters in the dlc 2bh. Farron followers aren't dangerous on their own but all the follower types fighting in combination is pretty fun. Item use is highly encouraged which I like.

They also introduce the enemies in a good way and then make the next encounter harder. Using the corvian knights as a trap in that chapel was pretty cool even if I noticed the ambusher first.

HOW TO FIX THE GANK PROBLEM:

>summon signs can only be used once while an invader is active in the host's world, if the phantom they summon dies it cannot be resummoned until they die or all hostile phantoms are out of their world

>new summon signs are not sent to the host during an invasion, they are limited to whatever signs are already present when the invasion started

>Popping a finger does what it usually does but will also fetch new signs, but only once per session

>summoning now has the summoner doing the BC animation before the summon request actually goes through, these count as counter frames for the entire duration of the animation

>Estus animation is now entirely counter frames

>giant seed made rarer, limited to one in possession at a time, and limited to 10 total per NG cycle

Really the only fix that is needed is the summoning shit. It's absurd that the host can just play summoner and keep throwing infinite phantoms at you.

It took me one death during phase 2 to figure out that bothering with Friede is a waste of time and smacking Ariandel was the most efficient way of getting to phase 3 without using any Estus.

Dancer causes a lot of issues since being summoned to her fog wall requires you to load High Wall, Lothric Castle, and the King's Garden even though the phantom is never going to see two of those areas.

my 60 int mage with the sword catalyst is one Shoting most normal enemies with the CSS in NG+, so it hasn't been too bad.

Just beat Icy Slut, and Big Daddy on NG+++. Last phase was fun as fuck. Made sure not to use any knock downs to not cheese it.

BB and DaS 3's NG+es aren't properly balanced for some reason. The increase in far greater in DeS and DaS.
I kept wondering why people had trouble with Ludwig as I felt NG+4 with maxed gems would be fair, but he hardly gets stroger and you could steamroll him.
Same goes for 3, the DLC is only balanced around SL 60-80 for NG and at best 90 for NG+ and beyond.

DLC took me a few hours to do with my buddies. It was fun, but it felt like it ended a bit too early. The level design is fantastic for the most part, though some places are less than perfect. Enemies are alright: big giant dudes, annoyingish wolves, Followers are kind of cool but mostly just reskinned hollows. New armours are really gangster. Haven't used many of the weapons but they seem good, the new greatbow is absolutely fantastic IMO. The main boss was fun and a bit different, the side boss was kind of dull. Plenty of new lore implications.
