I only have under 74 hours into the game, so obviously "huhuhuhuhu git gud" is the most likely of responses, but I was wondering if I have to play Competitive in order to get teams who care for synergy and actual teamwork as opposed to just picking whatever they want even if it's going to do hrorible in that situation, and to also get teammates who don't go in so deep that they're behind the enemy point, far away from the healers and all that shit.

So basically, is Competitive any better than Quick Play? Because in a lot of games, it isn't really.

I'm just tired of loss after loss because nobody will group up or play shit that makes sense. It's weird.

I'll sometimes do a QP for warmup, especially on a hero I don't play often.
Competitive is where it's at though. Both in terms of rewards(gold weapon skins) and difficulty.

QP is normally:
>A torb who's turret is better than he is
>A roadhog who can't hook if his life depended on it but will soak damage and feed the enemy ult
>Two dps that spend the whole game flanking and then get upset in the last minute and a half because nobody is taking the objective, expect under 10sec objective time from them. 14 bonus points if it's a hanzo/widow complaining about nobody being on objective
>A person who begrudgingly picks zen because the team needs a healer but he really wants to be dps(expect him to focus on kills and only apply his heal orb after the fight to top you off), the guy who gets the orb going into the fight is the lucky one
>And then maybe zarya who uses her ult in 1v1 exclusively

Why the hell does every cowboy in every videogame has some kind of ability that everything goes sepia and gets super strong? Sometimes I'm not sure what to do as Mercy. I usually jump in to heal my teammates mid-battle which leads to me dying quite often, but it feels like it makes more of a difference and my teammates are thankful for it since I give them enough health for them to kill what killed me. But then I watch videos of Mercy players who just hide behind walls and watch the critical health teammates slowly die in front of them and are regarded as good Mercy players for staying alive and having good "positioning".
