I consider the element a downside for an AoE, personally. Something like Bladeblitz is good for clearing trash because nothing resists it. Fire Blossom can run into a wall.
There are also multi-enemy fights that have the "enemies have different resistances" gimmick, so Fire Blossom could be an issue there too.

As far as donuts go I think Chizuru is fine. And even though I kinda would prefer an FF character instead, I also think CoD's sprite is kinda ugly. Explorers is just mechanically flawed. In MH your movement and actions actually have some kind of "weight" to them, while in Explorers it seems like your character is just sliding around like in an old MMO. The fighting is just uninteresting in Explorers, and that's a problem considering it's the main part of the game. Also I never bothered trying online since it was dead when I got the game, but apparently it was a laggy shitshow.

Neither one of those games are "open world", though.

I wasn't speaking just of Venat, and Venat certainly did help as she gave a decent amount of helpful information and very occasionally protection to Cid and at the end the True Hero. The rest of the Occuria's plans ended up backfiring only partially because of their own actions and underestimations. Much of the character growths/changes that caused Ashe to finally reject the Occuria happened very late in the game, long after she had taken the weapon which she was initially and expectedly going to use to keep the Occuria in power.
Also leaving Giruvegan seems to put them in a lot of danger from what we're shown: Venat goes from almost untouchable like the others to perfectly if difficultly killable with obviously limited energy. Losing power is a lot better than risking death, so the other Occuria staying safe regardless of their influence fits character and makes sense.
What do you think he did wrong? Listing what he did right would take multiple posts, even just everything before and including Barbados, but can you name a single thing he did wrong?

What do you have in terms of units? Lock those you will not fuse and then either fuse off the rest for their mediocre TMs or if they have good TMs, keep them and farm.

I'm a F2P and I have 80 unit slots that will likely go up when I need to add in more for future rolls though I keep 10000 Lapis for whenever they do a Christmas/New Year event with the rainbow crystal pulls. Though if they do that, the pulls should only be 5* unit bases since you are spending an extreme amount of Lapis for the 3 Rainbows.

They are done. I had bad luck with my internet down at home for the entire time the materials could be gathered but I persevered and went to local Wi-Fi spots to get as much as I could. I got the Pestle/Shield/Moogle/all summon tickets/HP+15% and will probably get the Star Quartz for Earrings and the LB Pots for my Cecil.
