That's much more of a problem on forums than on an image board like 4chan.

No matter how old a discussion is, if you post then it will be inserted directly into the current conversation. On a forum, people are more likely to ignore new contributions to old threads or whine about necro'ing.

I'd want it to be reasonably aesthetic. Take a look at Christine Love's Digital, for example. It looks...pleasing. I just like the look of it.

If you gave me a game that provided an accurate portrayal of a game that used early 00's era AIM on a windows XP desktop background (pic related), it would feel nostalgic in a way, but it's also something that would get tiresome to look at for hours at a time. It looks ugly compared to modern UIs. If I'm going to spend the entire game looking at this interface, prioritize prettiness over accuracy, please.

Good read, I am that anon. I thought Twin Peaks would be right up my alley, but there was so much soap opera love triangle/square/pentagon stuff, pointless "twists", and plot threads that went nowhere.

I feel like Deadly Premonition, while obviously a direct rip off of Twin Peaks, was much more effective at delivering on the concept. Lots of humor and eccentric characters, but they never take away from the more serious elements, and whenever shit gets real, the gloves come off.
