Prior to the Ana release is when my rose-tinted memory seems to place it, with the final straw being after the whole Sombra debacle started.

I don't know. I got into Overwatch because of a friend and had fun with these threads, but lately they just haven't felt the same. Her critbox is really large and her ultimate requires a lot of positioning and a lot of times comes up empty. Zarya, who sees over 70% play at the higher levels hard counters D.va because her primary fire ignores defense matrix and her shields block your guns and convert them into damage. Dva has a poor match-up vs most of the tanks with the exception of roadhog who is more even because you can matrix his shots cause he fires slow. Dva is also pretty bad against Zenyatta except at extremely close range, while the other tanks are also vulnerable to discord they have better tools for threatening him. Dva can go even against most of the offense cast just fine and beats most often defense cast pretty easily bar Mei

His right click is a mid-range option. Roadhog is a tank with no shields and a huge body, and one of the biggest benefits to tanks is that shields block damage which prevents ultimate charge from building.
Roadhog is good at what he's supposed to do which is pick off DPS and support, but he's got problems that hold him back to the 5-20% usage tier
Roadhog is also a pretty bad character while his hook is on cooldown and only a pretty good one while it's up

If you're talking about the turret, it's immobile, the damage can't be outhealed, and only does 48 DPS meaning beefier characters can solo it. Every incarnation of this character type gives the builder some kind of weapon because the turret will inevitably go down. Also he's shit outside of bottom of the barrel quickplay. I don't get what he means by his last sentence but the first sentence's answer is the same reason most melee sucks in this game. TL;DR you don't have to switch weapons to melee so its damage is low for being relatively low risk. Torbjorn is balanced by forcing him to be close to his turret if he wants to repair and upgrade it but since it leaves him without his primary gun his hammer is given better self defense capabilities.

Simply let it fire rapid laser bullets. But the original DotA was a custom map, and not done by Blizzard? Anyway, even if Overwatch is their first FPS, it doesn't in any way explain the dumb maps. They literally could have borrowed famous maps from other games, and yet we are stuck with what we have now. It doesn't make any sense.

The current maps are passable, at best. There MUST be a reason for their mediocrity, I just can't grasp it.
