THE /HG/TAGE: BUNGIE EDITION is currently accepting clips from now until September 30th. If anyone has a capture card and wants to help other anons get their Halo 3 clips in then post in the thread or send me a message on waypoint so we can set it up. My capture card is working but my laptop is having issues during the recording. The clips that are submitted must be from the following games.

Most people here get their PC building advice from reddit or 4chan and as a result end up spending roughly twice as much as they need to.

A lot of it depends on when you bought your PC pieces more than where. The market fluctuates a lot. There was a time when there was an error with 980 cards and during that month they dropped to $100. Now they're back up.

Chances are, for a practical non autistic shopper, you didn't really waste that much money, so don't feel bad.

As far as where to buy, there's no one place, there's coupons and price discounts everywhere, always changing. The best physical place you can go is Fri's. I travel there with a friend once a year for upgrades.
But if you don't live near one, then Newegg is fine if you're assembling all at once.

There's a lot of factors to take into account. My roommate buys mostly used parts from craigslist. His PC is twice as powerful as mine for half the cost, but I don't like the Hassel and Risk.

We need an official reccomended PC build of /hg/.
Something that can run the reccomended setting for Forge but is also fairly future resistant.

We should pool our knowledge so we have something to reccomended and point to for people who want to make the most out of the play anywhere program for future Halo titles without spending a fuck ton of money.

Since you guys are not going for an ultra build, I suggest we prioritize quietness in the cooling department.

Here's my 2 cents on the build.

We shouldn't waste money on space.
If they want more space, they can buy a cheap external or internal Seagate or WD HDD when they're on sale or on black friday.

Instead, I'm more concerned with reliability and speed. Right now SSD drive differences in price are jokes in that unless you're doing some serious movie editing or art design, you don't need the end all be all model.
This SanDisk Ultra II is perfect in this regard. I bought one two days ago for Windows 10 (I wanted my windows 7 to have its own drive) and it works flawlessly and fast. This will load games fast but also boot up the PC very quickly.
What's best, it's retailing at $75, but I've seen it for less.

It will get the job done.

RAM is so fucking inexpensive right now that it's laughable. You really owe it to yourself to go out and get another 8 gb if you're not at 16 gb yet, but since we're trying to save money, I'm only reccomending 8 gb.

I don't care what model it is, just make sure it's DDR4.
Theoretically you'll be fine with 8, but don't blame me if the price shoots up in a few months and you missed out.

Technically every time you start your PC, it pushes the mobo, fans, and processor a bit. Therefore if you start up less and just use hibernate or sleep, you'll get more startups, but these parts are built to last. You might lose a few months, not a few years.

The motherboard is probably one of the few things you don't want to be cheap about.
This is a quality yet affordable mobo.
The Z-170P.
It will allow for upgrading in years to come but has plenty of slots for a starter build. It's missing some bells and whistles like built in WiFi but you can always buy an adapter.
I reccomend ASUS because they're reliable.

No it didn't. Loadouts still persisted in every mode, (those include perks.)

The only thing it did was add variant of some modes that didn't have ordinance. The ordinance modes are still in matchmaking in halo 4 and MCC alongside the non-ordinance ones.

I'm expecting Chief or someone from blue team will die from Cortana. Chief will realize that he has to end Cortana despite everything they've been through. Chief will do something and sacrifice himself for the "greater good" and destroy Cortana. Hopefully Halo will end at that point so it's not continuously being raped, or 343 loses the privilege of being able to fuck the franchise even more. Most likely after Halo 6, after 3 years a teaser will show some other bullshit Halo game and by then no one will really care.

I guess I'm not under an NDA anymore for Halo 6's story concepts since I left 343 Industries after the release of Halo 5. What I'm about to say is things I've heard in the office and what has been drawn on whiteboards for concepts so anything from now until release can change.

So far the idea of bringing the threat presented in Halo 1 is returning. What I've heard management talk about is having Cortana activate the Halo rings from the ark that was thought to be lost. This second ark was a backup plan for the rings just incase the first one was destroyed or malfunctioned.

Roland who is secretly being controlled by Cortana will lead the Infinity to the ark which will then spark worry within the whole crew of the Infinity. Chief knows what has to be done so he makes his last final journey to end it all. Cortana critically wounds John, but Osiris shows up and backs him up. At this point Cortana desperately attempts to persuade Chief one more time to join her, Chief doesn't say anything and destroys the ark.

While everyone on the ark is leaving, Chief stays and uses the remaining time to stay with Cortana. In the final cutscene aboard the Infinity Lasky and Locke look out onto the Ark and you can tell they understood Chief's sacrifice.
