Judging by the squadron composition on the return. He hit it with a TB and DB. Set a fire and flooding, while the babby immediately used DC. King came around then and hit him again with about 2-3 fires. Sending what remaining HP he had left to burn for a full duration.

It's a combo of the 20 second reload allowing you to mix AP and HE as well as allowing you to DPS down cruisers fast as well as the 15s simply being shit.

Bayern is frustrating enough with the shells flying all over, but losing 2 guns and moving up a tier is super shitty. You will routinely splice any and all sorts of targets at all ranges with just 6 guns. If Gneis had her historical battery she would undoubtedly be the best, but since she's forced to use shitty 15s she loses to Scharn.

Also you get cruiser fast turret traverse so you can shift your fire very easily. Scharn is simply more fun to play.

I win more in Gneis but do far more damage and finish more ships in Scharn. Definitely a big issue in Gneis was some jackass cruiser juking all over with about with 2k hp left. Scharn's shotgun spread of shells will finish him, Gneis's 6 shells on a longer reload is not guaranteed.

Gneis is probably best if you have a div mate in a cruiser helping finish things for you.

In the current BB meta most cruisers that have more than 10 or 11 km detection range are useless citpen fodder becasue they can'T invisifire.

No idea if you have a high tier cruiser, but it's a truly magical feeling to have six or eight baBBies shift target to you every time you get detected, because they all know they overmatch your armor and will get free citpens whenever they hit.

The armored conn is just behind the windows. A lot of ships do this, for example Iowa and New Jersey originally had the conning tower exposed (you can see it on the Iowa A hull in game). When Missouri and Wisconsin were built they had an enclosed bridge with windows built around the conn, and this bridge was later added to Iowa and New Jersey when they were refitted during the war (Iowa's upgraded hulls have the newer bridge).

WG are just lazy assholes and wanted to have the armored section in but couldn't be bothered to actually model it properly.

Scharnhorst makes for a good BB, CA, and probably even DD captain trainer when that line arrives. I'd also consider it more of an upgrade over the Gneisenau than the Tirpitz is compared to the Bismarck. But the Tirpitz has more of a traditional BB playstyle if that's what you're into. It's also tier 8, which brings in more money, though tier 7 lets you bully tier 5s all day without running into 10s. Really just look up Scharnhorst vidoes and decide if you want to do that. In my opinion, the Bismarck killed a lot of Tirpitz's desirability.
