It's not a massive buff (radar is nowhere near as useful as smoke or a healpot), but it'll help make up the difference for most of her stats being marginally worse than Hipper's.

Plus there some historical precedent for it. Before the fight against Hood, Bismarck knocked out her own radar set. Eugen was moved to the lead position to use her undamaged set.

Everything before the Königsberg is a st.lu clone with no armor
The Konigsberg is a great ship, the Nurnburg is a bigger version of it
The Yorck is hard to explain, but basically fire HE at everything further than 10km away, then switch to AP when shooting at a target closer than 10km, even battleships
With the Hipper, you can shoot AP at anything at any range but HE (fires) is preferred for BBs at long range, once the BBs get closer then you can switch to AP and actually get some really good pens

Keep moving, keep shooting, don't show your side, and don't forget you have torps

The KM CA/Ls are great ships when used correctly although you will have games where you get wrecked at max range by a BB untill you get to the Yorck, unfortunately

What kind of DD are you using to try to knife fight other DDs inside of torp range?

US DD is for knife fighting other DDs and pushing caps agressively
Rus DD is for HE spam while keeping at range, kind of like a small stealthier cruiser.
Jap DD is for sneaky spotting and long range stealth torps to catch idiots at low-tiers

Their smoke is important, but it's also very long lasting. You rarely need 4 of them. They're very maneuverable, which means being able to see torps a second earlier makes a huge difference. I think it's a skill that actually benefits the most from being taken on the most agile ships. With it, you should never get hit unless it's point blank. Even if you were hit rarely before, getting hit essentially removes you from the game. In an early fight, that's devastating. Better to stay in and be running dry on smoke than to die with 3 charges left. Vigilance also has the added bonus of making it easier to abuse your own smoke with less fear of getting torped, and makes rushing other DDs smoke and taking it less risky.

Well the unmanned turret on the armata is more about the gun tbqh. they needed a way to make the penetrators much longer 1 meter long plus. and with their auto loader designs they cant have their midgets sit on the ammo that long. It seems to have worked maybe ural is claiming like 14-13MJ at muzzle which is nuts when nato is pulling 11-12MJ.

I'd take claims from that factory about their products with a grain of salt.

Don't get me wrong, that gun is impressive. But remember NATO's (or more precisely, Germany's) tests with the 140mm guns.

The tl;dr is that you run into some problems with your penetrator. If it is too thick or too long it will create too much drag to actually get all that delicious KE from your muzzle over the 2000 m to the enemy tank.

At shorter ranges, it is fucking awesome. But the drag means that in the range bracket where everyone wanted to fight (or had to fight), around 2 km, the 140 mm is only slightly more effective then the 120mm L55.

This, combined with the bigass shells (you could only get half the number of rounds into the tank) meant they put that program on ice.

Do you have any readings on that. Honestly i know very little on the german 140mm tests and germans constantly rave about it. Only thing i know is that the xm291 in its 140mm config had slightly higher muzzle energy which is understandable its practically a lab gun, and the only problem they had was presumed to be the difficultly in getting the penetrator heavy enough to lower the velocity into DU's optimal range. they had the same problem with the 120mm varriant of the xm291 which was just shooting modified m829a2. if you have anything on the 135mm I always ask tank autists I have only ever seen docs that prove it existed but nothing else

The one time I watched him he sent his squads 1 by 1 into a kutozov at the beginning of the game even after he used df. Meanwhile there were a bunch of BBs with no aa escort so idk 6/10. He also complained about aa being op during this.

I have to say, divisioning with USSDONALDJTRUMP was fun. Despite stats not being all that amazing, he seems like a good CV player, and at least through the matches I played with him, very friendly.

Only downside is he focus on DD's real good, so whenever I picked a DD to go hunt enemy DD's, there was not a lot left for me to do.
