Pendulums are strong in some decks. Metalfoes are likely to be tier 2, if not top tier. Performapal/Odd-Eyes/Magicians are probably either going to be tier 3 or maybe low-tier 2 this format. D/D/Ds will be a very powerful deck when we get the structure deck.

Battle traps like Mirror Force, Magic Cylinder, and Enchanting Javelin have a few innate weaknesses.

Many monsters can ignore/prevent card effects during battle (ex. Armades, Utopia the Lightning, Gem-Knight Citrine). On top of that, the trap has to survive until the opponent's battle phase, in which case you'll want something more powerful than mass destruction.

Destruction isn't as powerful as it once was. Many decks, notably Kozmos and Burning Abyss, will lose no advantage from a classic Mirror Force, Dark Hole, or Raigeki; and may even gain some. If you want to use a Mirror Force, either run Blazing Mirror Force (for the added burn utility), Burying Mirror Force (for the sealing effect - one of the most powerful forms of removal in the game against most decks), or Storming Mirror Force (doesn't disrupt Pendulums much, but can severely harm Synchro/Xyz/Fusion strategies, and set Tribute/Ritual strategies back a bit in advantage).
